We felt this necessary, to establish a standard for how long someone will remain Cured and how long a treatment would take.
The Cure lasts at least 3-5 months (and we will ask that anyone with a Cured character have them be powerless for at least 3 months real time. Sorry y'all, but it's the way it works.) The only way it doesn't is if they get treatment in the Lab.
The Treatment:
The treatment involves finding pre-cure DNA samples. The larger the amount and the more preserved/fresher, the better. They will be stored in the lab and eventually cultured.
Step One : Wash the remaining Cure serum from the affected person. This takes 1 week to do , and results in 1/2 - 1 month reduction in the time the affected mutant will be powerless.
Step Two: Use the pre-Cure, cultured DNA for daily injections. There is less chance of rejection this way. Another mutants DNA can be used for this, but weird things may happen, and rejection will be more likely.
Step Three: When the affected person show signs of redeveloping their powers, discontinue DNA injections. Prepare for slightly more violent manifestations of the power then were experienced in the subject's powers first manifested in adolescence (loss of control, so on and so forth). First signs of redevelopment occur often in 1 to 2 months. After discontinuing DNA injections full powers often return in 1 to 2 months later.
(If DNA injections are not discontinued, there is a high chance of much more violent manifestations of power, often resulting in appearance change, permanent damage, or death.)
To cut it short: the whole process will take 2 months to 4 and 1/2 months to full powers, so it's up to you whether your character chooses to undergo it, since they may get their powers back on their own in a shorter amount of time then it would take under treatment. It's your gamble.
