Name: Lance Alvers
Alias: Avalanche
Age: 21
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 160 lbs
Eye Color: Brown
Hair Color: Brown
Powers: Avalanche is a mutant with the superhuman ability to generate powerful waves of vibrations, creating highly destructive effects. He focuses it into his hands and releases it through them. The vibrations can cause an inorganic object to shatter or crumble into dust. When directed against large objects like buildings or upon the earth itself, the vibrations can produce effects similar to those of an earthquake or avalanches within limited areas.
Avalanche needs not touch an object to affect it: he can direct the vibrations against it from some distance away from it. Avalanche is himself invulnerable to the effects of generating these intense vibratory waves. However, if the vibrations were to be reflected back upon him, he would be injured. (Marvel D-Base copy+paste.)
Personality: headstrong, impulsive, flamboyant, loud, blunt and rash.
Other features: has a tattoo on his back (picture 1 ) and two Iching hexagrams on the inside of his left forearm (picture 2 and picture 3)
Affiliation: Brotherhood
Actor: Ashton Kutcher
Background: Lance used to be the source of trouble at school even before he found out about his mutation, and his destructive powers only added to that as soon as they developed. He dropped out of high-school but later had a brief spark of conscience, reviewed his values and went to Xavier's school to ask for guidance and education. However, living a peaceful life appeared not to be to his tastes after a rather short while, so he left again. Very briefly, he was with the Brotherhood after the Alcatraz events when Magneto was trying to put a new team together, but he left soon.
He did this and that to survive, moving from place to place and all the while trying to find another opportunity to "fight for mutant rights" (that being his euphemism for "wreaking some havoc for some vague cause", seeing as he is easily impressed and passionate about any novel belief, so he changes his beliefs easily and quickly, being devoted to death to every next one). That soon brought him to Philadelphia as he followed rumors about some new "cult" that had something to do with mutants.
However, his stay in Philadelphia was short. Longing for some action, he left the covert, lurking group and returned to the Big Apple in search of something more energizing. It was there that he ran into Pyro and Rogue at the point when they formed the younger line-up of the Brotherhood. After the attack on his former hosts, the Indigo Children, he moved in together with them into an abandoned house that would be the temporary HQ.
He quickly formed two relationships within the team, an easygoing fling with Syrin and an odd look-don't-touch attraction with Pyro's right hand, Maya Sinister. After the HQ was attacked, the Brotherhood fled into the woods, where rough conditions and heavy disagreements about the team's direction put an end to it.
As the team disbanded, Lance resorted to finding occasional jobs in construction, using his welding skills as a means to make some meager living, until he ran into Sonic in the city, learning of the Brotherhood raising its head again, and later ran into Psylocke at the Hellfire Club, after which he finally made his decision to give the team one more try. He moved in with Betsy in her house which served as the Brotherhood HQ, establishing a friends-with-benefits relationship with her.
(As based, obviously, on X-Men: Evolution version of the character.)
