The ambulance had made its way through the city with enormous speed, but still Shade had had the feeling that seconds were flying by, that time was running through their hands. She had insisted on coming to the hospital with them and after the ambulance men had hurried the stretcher inside, she had been asked to wait in a waiting area outside. She didn´t know whether her friend was conscious, but she seemed very weak.
"You´ll be fine." she told her, squeezing her hand shortly, before the stretcher was brought away.

As the ambulance men carried her into the hospital, Eaglewing felt a short touch on her hand and that somebody told to her, but she did not understand the words. The sound of the voice told her that it must be Shade. Then they brought her into a room with many other people.
'This must be the emergency room' It was very loud and busy, the people talked very loud to each other. They began to take off her clothes and to evaluate her. She heard a rhythmical pipe and somebody put on a mask with oxygen on her nose and mouth. The rhythmical pipe was very slow and she got wise that it was her heartbeat.
She heared some words "bullet wound........vital functions are weak..........need an infusion.......no more time.......operation........anaesthesia.......hurry up"
She felt a prick in her arm and that something would injected. A could liquid ran into her veins and she slipped away into the darkness.

She was slightly calmed to see them tending to her, but still in this moment felt her knees almost give way so she sat down on one of the stools in the waiting area, noticing the slight shiver of her hand and... the already drying blood as a result from her attempts to stop the bleeding.
*professor? We´re at the hospital now* she let him know.

*I'm almost there,* ::The Professor sent back to her. He had been hailed a taxi van to take him over to Beth Israel and had been following Shade's mental presence. Thankfully, the traffic wasn't too terrible and so he would be there soon.
Within another ten minutes, the driver let him off in front of the hospital and he wheeled inside. Heading towards the E.R.:: *I'm here now, searching for you.*

She was glad to feel his mental presence again, feeling in this moment how much the events of the last hour had shaken her. Looking up, her eyes scanned the hall for him.

Looking up again, she saw the professor come towards her and she was sure her relief was visible on her face. "I´m so glad you could make it here so fast" she said, slightly shaking inside.

She nodded.
"It all happened so quickly. I found her in that street and she was so...confused and...." she decided to leave the whole story for Eaglewing to tell. this was not her information to give out. "...and I told her to go somewhere to calm down and it didn´t work really and then... then there was the shot."

"I hope so" she said. She would feel guilty if noone could help the other woman. She had seen another person die from a bullet wound before her very eyes and it was a memory she could very well life without.

She gave him a short look and nodded, her fingers playing with the ends of her pullover nervously. She only now realized that her jacket was gone. She had used it instinctively to keep the blood from running. She must have lost it somewhere.

’That is a dream’ It strucked Eaglewing right away. She was standing on a field, the sun was shining and it was very warm. There was no tree or bush and she could only see grass to the horizon. The sunlight was very beautiful like a sunrise. It was a very peaceful place. She did not hear something. No bird, no wind, nothing.
„I am in the middle of nowhere“ she said to herself „Am I dead?“
She took a look down to her body and frightened. „No, I could not be death“ and shaked her head, because the only clothes she weared was the shirt of the hospital. She smiled about this knowledge for a moment, but then she felt something. „There is something“ she turned around, but nothing was happened and she was still alone, but somebody was there.
The feeling that somebody stands behind her was so strong that it scared her.
„Hello?“ she cried „Is anybody here? Shade?“

Shade didn´t know for how long they had been waiting on the corridor until a doctor exited the room.
"How is she? Can we see her?" Shade asked immidiatly, getting up. The man looked at her, his face tense but with signs of relief. "You can. But only briefly. She´s still weak and barely conscious."
Shade nodded towards the other man thankfully, then slowly approached the door and looked in. Walking towards the hospital be slowly, and waiting for the professor to follow her, she grabbed for a chair in the corner and pulled it towards her. Sitting down she carefully felt for Eaglewing´s hand

Nobody answered, but the feeling was still there and very strong. She moved in a circle to see someone or something, but nothing. 'I am alone'
She fixed a point and started to run, faster and faster. Nothing happened, it was like treadmill. She run to the horizon, but it does not neared. After a few steps, she stopped breathless and then she remembered. She knew this place 'I was already here and that is not good!' This was the same place where she was as she lay in the coma.
"NOOOOOOO!" she screamed panicly and pressed her hands to the head.

The hand of the other woman didn´t give any sign that might have indicated she had felt the touch.
"I don´t think she knows we´re here." Shade silently said to the professor.

"Her fear is very strong," ::The Professor replied with a nod. The young woman was conscious, albeit barely. Even if she wasn't, he knew the intense emotions would reach his mind.But he wasn't sure if he should reach back, lest he worsen her condition.::

"I´m... not sure but I have an idea what that fear comes from" Shade said with a concerned look. "She´s afraid of falling into a coma, maybe that´s why." She didn´t want to reach out there and tell things that were hers to tell. Eaglewing had mentioned the danger of falling into a coma if she didn´t take the stuff that man had given to her. The condition she was in now, was different, but maybe this bit of information could help him to help her.

Eaglewing despaired that she should stay here again. She dropped her down into the grass and looked into the sky. ’I do not want to be here. I wished to be death, but not to be at this place again. I want to get out here, but how? There is somebody, I can feel it so strong, but it could not be Shade’
She got up and took another look around, all unchanged. Then she occured that only one person could be there.
„Professor?“ she asked loud and hopefully to get an answer, in which way however.

Eaglewing turned around as she heard the voice of the Professor. She heard the words so clear -I'm here-
"You can hear me?!" she said and cannot believe her luck "Can you help me?"
There are so many questions in her head, but she has to calm down herself. 'I am not alone!'

"Professor, I knew this place where I am, but I cannot remember how I came out. You must know that I lay in a coma for a long time and this is the place where I was. After I awoke, I have forgotten this place, but now...." she shrugged her shoulders and set down into the grass "I never want to live through that again and now I am here, again."
Eaglewing sighed and thought about that what happened this night. A new nightmare for here, but she had luck that Shade was there. Shade!
"Is Shade ok?" she asked the Professor, because she was cared about her "I do not want to involve her and that she underwent all this."

"Yes, I know and I feel your present very strong." she said and put out a blade of grass, but it does not feel like grass. She was a little bit confused and asked loud "What is that?" and took a more precise look to the blade of grass to find out what was wrong with it, but then she frightened.
"What I am doing?" she asked herself indignantly "I am lying in a coma and the only thing I do is to analyse a stupid blade of grass!" Angried about herself she flung it away.
"Ok. I will leave this place, but I do not know how, but I think that I am the only person how can change my present situation. Do you have any idea, Professor?" she said and started thinking to find an answer for this problem.

"Ok" she said,leaned down into the grass and closed her eyes. That was harder as she thought and as she opened her eyes something was happened. She was lying in a bed and stared to a ceiling, she could not moved. She felt that she was hogtied at the bed. As she looked arround, she did not see the Professor or Shade, but other things. Many medical devices and she did not see this the first time. As she remembered the place where she was, she felt in panic and began to jerk at her chains. "NO!" she said panically "Not again!" This was the hospital in Germany where they have done so many awful things to her.

Eaglewings body lay motionless in the bed of the hospital. The monitor which showes her heartbeat gets faster just as her breathe.

She could not get off the chains and looked around to get something which could help her to get out. Nearly the end of her bed was a table with casters. She could see a bottle with water and a scissors before it. With her right foot she kicked hard against the table that it rolled a little bit away. Thereby the bottle with water felt over and the water runs out. "CENSORED!" she said loud "How can I get the scissors? It was not enough water to push it to me" she mumbled and looked to the table. What then happened goes very fast. The began to circle and jet of water pushed the scissors so hard that it landed nearly her hand at the bed. She stared to the scissors and the wet bed sheet. "What?" she said confused, but then grapped the scissors and began to cut her chains.

Suddenly, a small jet of water got out of her fingers on the right hand to the end of the bed. Shortly after that was happened, her heartbeat and breath goes down to normal.

::The Professor let out a sigh of relief after he saw Eaglewing move. Her heartbeat slowly began to return to normal and her breaths began to even out. He wheeled to the top of her bed, examining her.:: "You're safe," ::He said softly.::

After she got off the chains, she jumped out of the bed and went to the table with the empty bottle. She took a look to the water and shaked his head.
As she heard the voice of the Professor, she said “It is so real! I cannot decide between this dream, or what it is and the reality.” She dipped a finger into the water at the table and she felt cool water at her finger. “Now, I know that I only moved to another place in this dream, because I do not have such power to shoot with water.” She went back to the bed and set down. After thinking a while, she sinked her head into the hands and said “I will try it again and I hope that I do not move in my dream world again.”
Then she had an idea and raised his head. “I cannot feel something, but as I was in the park with Shade, I felt her the whole time. Is she holding my hand? If I come back, I will feel it and I know that it is not a dream anymore.”

Eaglewing heared the words of the Professor and looked at her hands. She could not feel him, but wanted to go back to the real world, she would not to stay in these dream. She closed her eyes again and concentrated to that what she really wants, to get out of this nightmare. And something happened, she could feel that the bed was not be there any more and it was changed. She fell into the nothing, weightless and helpless. Panic got up as she felt that she was under water. No, not water! She opened her eyes and did not see anything. It was dark around her and she felt as she was in a big bottle with pudding. She could not breathe, but then she saw a smal spot like a pin head.

This time, Eaglewings heartbeat went down. The sound of the machine got slower.

::Xavier's brow creased in concern, when he heard the rhythm begin to slow. Her heartbeat was still steady, but the decreased speed concerned him. Squeezing her hand, he hoped Shade would return with a doctor soon.::

She started to swim, because it was very important to arrive there. She did not know, why she knew that and it was very hard. She still could not breathe, then she felt a suction that pulled her down into the darkness. She started to swim harder and at the same time the suction gets stronger. The light was so far away and she fought so hard with every motion. She could not breathe or thinking and all what she felt was panic.

Shade had managed to find a doctor nearby, her mind still racing frantically. Asking the man to come with her, telling him there might be things she could tell him about Eaglewing, he had followed her, telling him on the way to the room that the other woman had told her about being scared of falling into a coma.
"I think she might have taken something. If not today, then earlier."
"Drugs?" the doctor asked, while his pace quickened as there was a signal from the room ahead. Shade´s heart missed a beat.
"No... no drugs I think... I´m not sure.." didn´t know how to explain things.
Then the doctor reached the room a moment before her and stepped in while Shade followed, tossing a glance over at the professor who was still sitting by Eaglewing´s bedside. The doctor, in the meanwhile started to check the instruments and heart beat rates.

He reached out towards her, showing her that the light was not as far as she thought. He sent her strength, the strength to gain fresh air to breathe, and the strength to swim.:: *I'm with you. You can make it. Come back to us.*

Shade paced the room nervously, trying to calm down and started to tug the ends of her pullover instead. She watched the doctor and the professor who seemed distant. Mos obviously he had connected his mind with the young woman´s in some way. She didn´t understand much of medical things and therefore, could only wait.
"It´s getting steadier." the doctor commented. "The heart beat rate is normalizing."

She did not know, how she has done it, but the light approximated. Only a few meters and she was there, incapable to hold on her breathe for only one second. With the last ounce of her strength, she arrived the light and…….
Her eyes snapped open and she gasped deeply. At the same moment she felt a hand in her hand and squeezed it powerful as she realised that this was not a dream. She could not keep the memory of the dream. It runs down her fingers like water. As she turned her head and looked at the Professor, she has forgotten the dream. The only feeling she has was powerlessly.

She felt the squeeze of his hand and knew that she was back and brought a low smile as she heard his words "Hi" she just wispered and looked then to Shade and a men that could be the doctor, then back to the Professor. "What is happened?" she asked and her voice was not more as a whisper.

She winked a few times and the memories of the night came back. "Oh" she said and felt the pain in her belly where Jonathan has shot her. "I am sorry" she whispered and a tear run over her cheek.

The doctor returned his attention from the machines to the people around him, specifically to the professor.
"She still needs some rest" he said, his face neutral. "But after that it´s necessary to talk some things over. Her clothes were torn when she arrived here and we also found a knife with her. After the tests we made, the blood on the blade is not her own."

"We'll talk later," ::The Professor agreed. At the moment, what was important was letting Eaglewing rest and recover from the experience. He returned his attention to the young woman.:: "There's no reason to apologize. Do you need anything else, or would you like to sleep for a bit?"

Eaglewing has heard what the doctor said and she was frightened. She heard how the sound of the machine goes faster and her heart felt as it would like to burst. She needed to talk to the Professor, before the doctor could do that. She shaked her head slowly and that cost her a lot of power. She sighed and said quitely "I have to apologize for that what happened and I could understand that you want a statement of me" It was so strenous for her and she closed her eyes. After a while, she opened them and looked to Shade and said "Thank you for beeing there"
The doctor checked the machines and turned back to them and said "Please, can you leave the room, she needs some rest." he looked at the Professor and said "Are you a relative of her?" They found a bloody knife at the young women and there are some injuries which could be from a rape. He has talk to this man to find out what was happen, before calling the police.

"Yes, I am," ::The Professor replied, without hesitation. For all intents and purposes, he was her guardian, although she was old enough to not require one legally. And if this involved her care, he needed access to all information.

The hand of the other woman didn´t give any sign that might have indicated she had felt the touch.

"Her fear is very strong," ::The Professor replied with a nod. The young woman was conscious, albeit barely. Even if she wasn't, he knew the intense emotions would reach his mind.But he wasn't sure if he should reach back, lest he worsen her condition.::

"I´m... not sure but I have an idea what that fear comes from" Shade said with a concerned look. "She´s afraid of falling into a coma, maybe that´s why." She didn´t want to reach out there and tell things that were hers to tell. Eaglewing had mentioned the danger of falling into a coma if she didn´t take the stuff that man had given to her. The condition she was in now, was different, but maybe this bit of information could help him to help her.

Eaglewing despaired that she should stay here again. She dropped her down into the grass and looked into the sky. ’I do not want to be here. I wished to be death, but not to be at this place again. I want to get out here, but how? There is somebody, I can feel it so strong, but it could not be Shade’
She got up and took another look around, all unchanged. Then she occured that only one person could be there.
„Professor?“ she asked loud and hopefully to get an answer, in which way however.

Eaglewing turned around as she heard the voice of the Professor. She heard the words so clear -I'm here-
"You can hear me?!" she said and cannot believe her luck "Can you help me?"
There are so many questions in her head, but she has to calm down herself. 'I am not alone!'

"Professor, I knew this place where I am, but I cannot remember how I came out. You must know that I lay in a coma for a long time and this is the place where I was. After I awoke, I have forgotten this place, but now...." she shrugged her shoulders and set down into the grass "I never want to live through that again and now I am here, again."
Eaglewing sighed and thought about that what happened this night. A new nightmare for here, but she had luck that Shade was there. Shade!
"Is Shade ok?" she asked the Professor, because she was cared about her "I do not want to involve her and that she underwent all this."

She nodded to his words, knowing he would try to find a way to get her out and got up to look for a doctor. There was not much she could tell him, but maybe she could be of some help.

"Yes, I know and I feel your present very strong." she said and put out a blade of grass, but it does not feel like grass. She was a little bit confused and asked loud "What is that?" and took a more precise look to the blade of grass to find out what was wrong with it, but then she frightened.
"What I am doing?" she asked herself indignantly "I am lying in a coma and the only thing I do is to analyse a stupid blade of grass!" Angried about herself she flung it away.
"Ok. I will leave this place, but I do not know how, but I think that I am the only person how can change my present situation. Do you have any idea, Professor?" she said and started thinking to find an answer for this problem.

"Ok" she said,leaned down into the grass and closed her eyes. That was harder as she thought and as she opened her eyes something was happened. She was lying in a bed and stared to a ceiling, she could not moved. She felt that she was hogtied at the bed. As she looked arround, she did not see the Professor or Shade, but other things. Many medical devices and she did not see this the first time. As she remembered the place where she was, she felt in panic and began to jerk at her chains. "NO!" she said panically "Not again!" This was the hospital in Germany where they have done so many awful things to her.

Eaglewings body lay motionless in the bed of the hospital. The monitor which showes her heartbeat gets faster just as her breathe.

She could not get off the chains and looked around to get something which could help her to get out. Nearly the end of her bed was a table with casters. She could see a bottle with water and a scissors before it. With her right foot she kicked hard against the table that it rolled a little bit away. Thereby the bottle with water felt over and the water runs out. "CENSORED!" she said loud "How can I get the scissors? It was not enough water to push it to me" she mumbled and looked to the table. What then happened goes very fast. The began to circle and jet of water pushed the scissors so hard that it landed nearly her hand at the bed. She stared to the scissors and the wet bed sheet. "What?" she said confused, but then grapped the scissors and began to cut her chains.

Suddenly, a small jet of water got out of her fingers on the right hand to the end of the bed. Shortly after that was happened, her heartbeat and breath goes down to normal.

::The Professor let out a sigh of relief after he saw Eaglewing move. Her heartbeat slowly began to return to normal and her breaths began to even out. He wheeled to the top of her bed, examining her.:: "You're safe," ::He said softly.::

After she got off the chains, she jumped out of the bed and went to the table with the empty bottle. She took a look to the water and shaked his head.
As she heard the voice of the Professor, she said “It is so real! I cannot decide between this dream, or what it is and the reality.” She dipped a finger into the water at the table and she felt cool water at her finger. “Now, I know that I only moved to another place in this dream, because I do not have such power to shoot with water.” She went back to the bed and set down. After thinking a while, she sinked her head into the hands and said “I will try it again and I hope that I do not move in my dream world again.”
Then she had an idea and raised his head. “I cannot feel something, but as I was in the park with Shade, I felt her the whole time. Is she holding my hand? If I come back, I will feel it and I know that it is not a dream anymore.”

Eaglewing heared the words of the Professor and looked at her hands. She could not feel him, but wanted to go back to the real world, she would not to stay in these dream. She closed her eyes again and concentrated to that what she really wants, to get out of this nightmare. And something happened, she could feel that the bed was not be there any more and it was changed. She fell into the nothing, weightless and helpless. Panic got up as she felt that she was under water. No, not water! She opened her eyes and did not see anything. It was dark around her and she felt as she was in a big bottle with pudding. She could not breathe, but then she saw a smal spot like a pin head.

::Xavier's brow creased in concern, when he heard the rhythm begin to slow. Her heartbeat was still steady, but the decreased speed concerned him. Squeezing her hand, he hoped Shade would return with a doctor soon.::

She started to swim, because it was very important to arrive there. She did not know, why she knew that and it was very hard. She still could not breathe, then she felt a suction that pulled her down into the darkness. She started to swim harder and at the same time the suction gets stronger. The light was so far away and she fought so hard with every motion. She could not breathe or thinking and all what she felt was panic.

Her Heartbeat goes back enormously and her breath was very low.

Shade had managed to find a doctor nearby, her mind still racing frantically. Asking the man to come with her, telling him there might be things she could tell him about Eaglewing, he had followed her, telling him on the way to the room that the other woman had told her about being scared of falling into a coma.
"I think she might have taken something. If not today, then earlier."
"Drugs?" the doctor asked, while his pace quickened as there was a signal from the room ahead. Shade´s heart missed a beat.
"No... no drugs I think... I´m not sure.." didn´t know how to explain things.
Then the doctor reached the room a moment before her and stepped in while Shade followed, tossing a glance over at the professor who was still sitting by Eaglewing´s bedside. The doctor, in the meanwhile started to check the instruments and heart beat rates.

::The Professor did not turn his head when Shade arrived with the doctor. His mental energy was with Eaglewing, in her mind. He would not let her drown. He reached out towards her, showing her that the light was not as far as she thought. He sent her strength, the strength to gain fresh air to breathe, and the strength to swim.:: *I'm with you. You can make it. Come back to us.*

Shade paced the room nervously, trying to calm down and started to tug the ends of her pullover instead. She watched the doctor and the professor who seemed distant. Mos obviously he had connected his mind with the young woman´s in some way. She didn´t understand much of medical things and therefore, could only wait.
"It´s getting steadier." the doctor commented. "The heart beat rate is normalizing."

She did not know, how she has done it, but the light approximated. Only a few meters and she was there, incapable to hold on her breathe for only one second. With the last ounce of her strength, she arrived the light and…….
Her eyes snapped open and she gasped deeply. At the same moment she felt a hand in her hand and squeezed it powerful as she realised that this was not a dream. She could not keep the memory of the dream. It runs down her fingers like water. As she turned her head and looked at the Professor, she has forgotten the dream. The only feeling she has was powerlessly.

She felt the squeeze of his hand and knew that she was back and brought a low smile as she heard his words "Hi" she just wispered and looked then to Shade and a men that could be the doctor, then back to the Professor. "What is happened?" she asked and her voice was not more as a whisper.

She winked a few times and the memories of the night came back. "Oh" she said and felt the pain in her belly where Jonathan has shot her. "I am sorry" she whispered and a tear run over her cheek.

The doctor returned his attention from the machines to the people around him, specifically to the professor.
"She still needs some rest" he said, his face neutral. "But after that it´s necessary to talk some things over. Her clothes were torn when she arrived here and we also found a knife with her. After the tests we made, the blood on the blade is not her own."

"We'll talk later," ::The Professor agreed. At the moment, what was important was letting Eaglewing rest and recover from the experience. He returned his attention to the young woman.:: "There's no reason to apologize. Do you need anything else, or would you like to sleep for a bit?"

Eaglewing has heard what the doctor said and she was frightened. She heard how the sound of the machine goes faster and her heart felt as it would like to burst. She needed to talk to the Professor, before the doctor could do that. She shaked her head slowly and that cost her a lot of power. She sighed and said quitely "I have to apologize for that what happened and I could understand that you want a statement of me" It was so strenous for her and she closed her eyes. After a while, she opened them and looked to Shade and said "Thank you for beeing there"
The doctor checked the machines and turned back to them and said "Please, can you leave the room, she needs some rest." he looked at the Professor and said "Are you a relative of her?" They found a bloody knife at the young women and there are some injuries which could be from a rape. He has talk to this man to find out what was happen, before calling the police.

"Yes, I am," ::The Professor replied, without hesitation. For all intents and purposes, he was her guardian, although she was old enough to not require one legally. And if this involved her care, he needed access to all information.
His brow creased in concern as he heard the doctor discuss the nature of her injuries and the weapon. This was a terrible problem.:: "Please, tell me what you can. I'll call the police for you afterward."
