"That and letting us know that a what if sometimes was a situation where we´re lucky for things to have turned out the other way." Shade said. It wasn´t like this in every situation but when she came to think about it, it was the way that even really bad things had led to good things eventually. Jimmy´s death had led to her leaving home. Many bad emotions and despair and guilt rising from that but on the other hand it had also led her to a place where she had met new people, made new friends and more.

::The Professor found that to be a particularly healthy outlook to have, and he agreed with her for the most part.:: "That is also quite true."

"It is, yes." Shade agreed, letting he gaze wander across the grounds for a moment, thoughts idly dwelling on those scenarios of what had happened if she had never left home and always returning to the good memories it had let to. And like a magnet those thoughts always returned back to Gambit which was not surprising since he could be held responsible for a great deal of those good memories. For a moment she was almost tempted to send him a phone message later, not to pry, just to send him some affectionate words, but she banned the thought quickly. There was always the danger of such things getting him into trouble.

::Her thoughts were loud, focused as they were on Remy, and the Professor blocked them from his own mind, affording her the privacy she deserved.:: "How are your own classes?"

Shade had been in thought for a moment, not broodingly so but her thoughts starting to wander. When he asked her, she had to focus her thoughts again. "Doing fine actually." she said, smiling. "The history class is not as large as the writing class as usual, and some of the students I didn´t know yet, but so far things went pretty fine."

"What is on your lesson plan?" ::The Professor asked not only as HeadMaster, but as a fellow instructor, interested in what she intended to teach.::

"For history or creative writing?" Shade wanted to know, appreciating the Professor´s interest in her work.

"Begin with history and then move on to creative writing," ::The Professor replied. He had experienced much of modern history first-hand and thus had more of an affinity for it.::

Shade nodded, thinking for a moment, to get the structure. "Well, for history I was planning a more youth centred approach this semester" she said. "Moving away from the history of politicians over to grasping it on a scale that´s more accessible to the students and ... well... unrolling events taking youth culture as a trigger. Hitler Youth, student protests of the late 60s, scout movement, Jewish resistance like the White Rose...things like that." She shifted a little stretching her legs to be more comfortable. "As for creative writing I´m planning to have a closer look at specific genres now before letting the students pick on one they want to explore in more detail as some project work."

::The Professor nodded as he listened, approving particularly of the youth-oriented history lesson plan.:: "Speaking for history, I believe that is an excellent way to maximize student interest and participation."

Shade gave him a broad smile. It was good to get some feedback on her word by someone who understood what he was talking about. She had come directly from university with no practical training yet and seeing that Xavier approved was definitely good to hear. "I hope so." she said. "I´ve made the experience that history becomes more interesting when approched on a more personal level. Looking at it from below, not above."

"That is true, and I am certain that the students will appreciate it. It will draw them in, and allow them to find parallels between their lives and those being taught," ::The Professor replied.::

Shade nodded. "That was my idea behind it, yes." she said. "History is basically a difficult subject for students anyways so it´s just logical to look for ideas that enables them to understand more easily."

"I agree," ::The Professor replied. When he had taught history, which had not been for six years at least by this point, he had done what he could to help history to come alive, and demonstrate the relevance to the students.::

Hugging her knees in a comfortable manner, Shade looked aside to look at him. "You ever taught history?" she asked out of interest.
