::Odin quirked his eyebrow slightly at her remark; it could be interpreted in two ways, and he wished to distinguish.:: "With campaigning, or with helping me relax?"

"Helping you to relax," she said as she straightened, loosely folding her arms. "It's what I do," she added with a faint smile.

::Odin smiled in return, although it was a fainter, almost sad smile. Apart from how his abilities would cancel those aspects of hers, there was his difficulty getting close to others, and it begged the question of when was the last time that he had relaxed?:: "You'd have your work cut out for you."

"I'd be willing to put in the effort for you," she told him with an assured nod of her head. She didn't want him distressed and worrying all the time.

"I appreciate that," ::Odin spoke sincerely; it had been quite some time since he'd been dubbed "worth the effort." Finished wrapping his tray, he set it in the refrigerator with the rest of the leftovers.:: "I'll see how I am come the morning."

"Ok," said Stacy, her eyes following him to the fridge. "You know where I am if you need me."

::Odin shut the refrigerator door and met her eyes, nodding once.:: "And you know where I am."

At his response, she smiled a little. "Thanks," she said quietly. It had been a long time since she had had someone treat her like a good friend.

::The words were odd for Odin to speak, so accustomed was he to his life of relative loneliness. However, they were true nonetheless.:: "What are friends for?"

She just nodded silently at that, not really having anything to add. She could tell he was sincere in his emotions, and she didn't need to say anything.

"I think I'll take your advice and try to sleep," ::Odin announced, breaking the "moment," if one could call it that.::

"Ok," Stacy replied. "I'll see you in the morning then," she said, moving from the table.

"Goodnight, Stacy," ::Odin bade her, before exiting the kitchen. The walk to his bedroom was a short one, and once there, he shut the door and changed for bed.::

Stacy headed to her bedroom shortly after and soon enough got changed for bed and settled under the covers to sleep.

****** ::Odin sat in the living room watching the evening news broadcast. News from Washington was the only part in which he took interest. That and the "mutant reports" done on different mutants around the country, who came forward to comment on the sociopolitical climate. He watched to see if there were reports out of Illinois or Nevada. Illinois because it had been his home, and Nevada because of Stacy.
Stacy had returned to her home state, citing family obligations and personal reasons. He had taken her to the airport himself and seen her off. She promised to stay in touch, but as he had never been particularly good at that, he wasn't sure how long it would last.
The apartment was empty; he had not expected to become so lonely after she left, but having lived together for more than half a year, he had grown used to her. Idly, he considered finding another roommate, but it would not be the same.
The news report turned to Washington and the Bureau of Mutant Affairs; he raised the volume to watch attentively. The only "good part" of no longer living with an empath was that he could let loose his emotions. Considering how the report had begun, he had no doubt he would tonight.::
