"Don't you have anyone to visit?" she asked, watching him. She knew he had no immediate family here, but she figured his parents lived somewhere else in the country.

::Odin's reply was a shake of his head. He had been alone for years, and he had nowhere to go, were he to board a plane to Chicago. Not that he would, as he'd had his fill of that city.:: "No, I'm quite alone on the holiday."

"Oh, ok," she said at that, her tone turning softer. "Then we should go out," she told him with a small smile. "But we'll have to book a table early, I'm sure the restaurants will be packed.

::Odin thought of a restaurant in particular that wouldn't be particularly thematic. For both of them, it would be appreciated, he was sure.:: "We have a month and a half, and I'll call for a reservation tomorrow."

"You have an idea of a place then?" she asked with a curious smile.

"I do," ::Odin confirmed with a nod. He couldn't imagine that they would have filled up this quickly, but to be safe, he would call tomorrow. If necessary, he could think of a back-up.:: "You learn about restaurants quickly when your kitchen skills are as poor as mine."

She gave him a reassuring but amused smile. "Don't worry about it. I'm sure you make up for it in other skills," she said, not detailing on what these might be, however.

::There were two distinct ways to interpret Stacy's comment: the high road and the low road. Odin chose the high road, as the evening's debate had succeeded in disturbing him.:: "I like to think I have enough marketable skills. And I don't mind pizza for dinner."

Stacy just grinned at his response, not surprised he had evaded the possible suggestive nature of her comment. "There you go then," she said lightheartedly.

"There I go," ::Odin conceded with a nod. Though at the moment, he didn't require an ego boost so much as assurance and security, neither of which would come until next month; even then, matters could go terribly awry.::

Stacy glanced at the clock before back at Odin. "It'd do you good to get an early night tonight. Don't sit worrying yourself in front of the television."

::Odin glanced at the kitchen clock; it was already past eleven, and Stacy had a point. Nodding, he went to wrap his tray.:: "An early night might do me good."

"Just try to relax," she said gently, "there's nothing you can do about tomorrow's outcome."

"Or three weeks from now," ::Odin agreed with a soft sigh. All he could do was vote when the time came, and convince everyone he knew to vote Democrat as well.:: "I don't put things out of mind easily, but I will for tonight."

"You know I'm willing to help you if you need it," she offered as she watched him.
