"A bit," she said vaguely. "But it's been a long time." It had been years since she felt her skin peel away, revealing the blue skin and scales beneath.

"Was your hair always that color too? Or did it change?" She asked curiously, obviously interested in Mystique's powers.

"It changed as well," she told her. "My hair used to be black, and it was the last thing to change, actually." Her eyes had changed their color before her mutation had reached her raven locks.

"Wow." Paige said before she came to her senses. "Sorry, I should stop asking these questions." Her cheeks went red slightly when she realized that she must've been bantering her with all these questions.

She shrugged. "I don't mind, really," she insisted. "Though your powers are quite fascinating. Are you training to control them better?"

Paige smiled at Mystique's compliment, or well, that's how she took it as. "Well, I already have control over it for the most part," Paige began to explain before stopping to look at her hand which was still glass. Able to see right through her hand and onto the ground below because of its transparecy she then looked back up at Mystique. "though it couldn't hurt to get better control over it I suppose. I still can't control it when I'm really stressed out or injured." She explained.

She nodded in understanding. "Practicing control here will help you," she said wisely. Paige was lucky; she had not had the opportunity to come here and learn, and thus had taken a long time on her own.

"That's what I'd like to think." Paige said in a cheeful tone before smiling brightly.

She returned the gentle smile. "You'll like it here, I think," she said in a knowing tone. Paige was a friendly girl, and would make friends quickly and easily, as well as learning a lot.

"Oh, I already do." Paige said as she moved to take a seat on the bench she just noticed not to far from where they were. Moving over she offered the spot next to her for Mystique to sit down in.

She smiled, and went to sit next to the girl, shifting Abby in her arms so that she was more comfortable. Abby didn't mind at all; she babbled happily. "I'm glad of that," she told her.

Paige giggled softly as Abby began to babble, "Are you starting to understand what she's saying?" She asked Mystique.

Mystique shook her head. "She hasn't said any words yet, but sometimes she acts like she understands what I'm saying to her," she said proudly. It would be awhile before Abby started speaking.

It must've slipped her mind for a moment about how young Abby was, obviously it would be a while before Abby would start to form actual words. "I'm sure she does, she seems like a smart little girl." Paige said before smiling.

Mystique nodded, beaming with motherly pride. "She's so curious about the world around her," she told her. Shifting Abby in her arms, she looked down at her daughter. "Aren't you?" she asked her, delighted by Abby's babbling and wide, curious eyes.
