I seriously need to stop this, Ty thought ruefully, locking the doors to Cyclops' car. Scott will KILL me. The car was soon forgotten, though, as she went inside Hellfire. The music wasn't loud, but it was live, which she liked. And there was liquor. She bit her lip, and vowed only to have one drink. Holding to that was a different story.
Taking a seat at the bar, she ordered a Manhattan and sipped, though she wanted to gulp it down. It was good to be out in the city, and she refused to ruin it.

::Odin had come to the Hellfire Club a half hour earlier, after a particularly long day spent in the company of far too many humans. He needed time to enjoy the pleasant hum of his sense exposed to dozens of mutants at once, which brought him to this bar that was slowly becoming...not home, as he didn't have one, but comforting. He sensed the redhead before she came to the bar, and intrigued, he read her further. With a sip of his rum and coke, he studied her, from the three seats that separated them at the bar.::

The other benefit to Hellfire was that it was all mutants, and it allowed Typhoid to relax her hold, just a little, on her senses without feeling as if she was going to cause a mob to form. She sat with her gloved hand idly on her drink, allowing the ebb and flow of the life she sensed to dominate her other powers, a pleasant overlay to the live music. Her other hand was tucked into the pocket of her coat, and she allowed her eyes to close briefly. Lines of green glowed around her eyelashes. Most of the mutant heartbeats were not fast, none of them as Pietro's were, but they were all interesting, and when her eyes opened she could see each pulse of blood through their veins as if it were in green infrared. Her eyes focused on the random person three seats down, as close a "target" as any.

::Odin had caught her attention, not surprising given her powers. He smirked, mouth hidden by his glass, which was in need of refreshing. Reaching into his pocket, he withdrew his tip for the bartender and held it in his free hand to get his attention. When the bartender came over, he asked for a refill and a glass of water, and slipped the bill into his palm. While the drink was on its way, he nodded at the woman across from him.::

Ty had been staring, and she only realized it when the man nodded at her. She blinked, clearing away the vision that her powers gave her so that it returned to normal. To be at least polite, she nodded back, but her guard went up. This was someone she didn't know, and therefore suspect.

::Odin took both drinks when the bartender came over to him, thanking the man with a nod. He set the rum and coke down, and sipped from the water glass. He'd learned his lesson long ago about properly diluting his blood-alcohol level.
She'd nodded, which meant she'd noticed him as more than a mere curiosity. That was all he needed to strike up conversation with another mutant, and so he rose with drinks in hand, and sat down in a stool closer to her.:: "Nice night, isn't it?"

She unconsciously pulled her coat so that it wrapped about her better; her tolerance of proximity was iffy at best, and particularly in a crowd. "It is."

::Odin set his drinks down in front of him. From studying her, he saw that she was nervous, uncomfortable with proximity, unsurprising with her abilities. Those gloves were cloth cages. Not that he was frightened; he had no reason to be.:: "I suppose the usual question is 'come here often?'"

"It probably is," she said, shrugging slightly. "This is a mutant club, so I suppose the answer would be 'yes.'"

::The shortness of her answers didn't faze Odin in the slightest; he was more than used to it. He sipped again from his water glass, watching her through his thick frames.:: "It's best to be with our own kind."

She sipped at her own drink. "I'm not optimistic enough to think equality will ever happen, so yes, you're probably right."

"We need our own homeland," ::Odin agreed with a nod. He set the water down, and reached into his pocket. His glasses were smudged; it happened easily, and if he wanted an upper-hand in conversation, he'd prefer them cleaned. He pulled out a tissue from the package he kept, and removed the glasses, breathing lightly on the lenses before wiping with the tissue.:: "A Zion, not a ghetto or a reservation."

"I would be happy with someplace that was safe," she observed while he cleaned his glasses. He was...interesting, at least he wasn't trying to hit on her or asking her to dance. Either would have earned him a quick refusal at best and a punch to the jaw at worst.

"What's safer than our own kind?" ::Odin asked philosophically. He replaced the glasses on the bridge of his nose, and folded the tissue carefully, before setting it down on the bar. He could read her, catching the slight change in her eyes, combined with her nervousness around others.:: "I won't ask you to dance; have no fear of that."

Her eyebrow rose, instantly suspicious. "Are you a telepath?"
