Posted by Gambit on Jun 29, 2007, 14:18 Gambit arrived to the Danger Room earlier than they had agreed with Shade; he wanted to refresh his memory regarding the controls, see what new scenarios were in use, maybe watch some of the latest recorded sessions. Plus, he still hadn't settled on the final idea what scenario to use for Shade. After all, hers was not a traditional training session.
His access code was still valid, just like Xavier had said, and Gambit immediately busied himself with the controls. He left the door to the hallway of the Danger Room open so that Shade wouldn't pass by into the Room without him noticing her first.
Posted by Shade on Jun 29, 2007, 14:24 When Shade arrived in the basement, she didn?t spot Gambit anywhere but walking the corridor found that the Danger Room was open. It had been quite a while since she had been down here last autumn, shortly after she had arrived. Rogue had taken her on a little tour, but they had only had a look into the Jet Hangar and never gone so far as approach the Danger Room. Therefore, Shade had no idea what to expect.
Walking towards the open hallway, she stepped through, into the Danger Room which turned out to be a massively huge and high hall. Looking around to orientate, she let her gaze stray across the smooth walls.
Posted by Gambit on Jun 29, 2007, 14:30 Gambit noticed Shade's arrival and decided it was time to stop musing over possibilities and settle on something already. He started his favorite terrain - ideal for parkour, a closely built neighborhood, nothing too high, nothing too low, stairs, walls, fences, poles and railings.
While holograms were growing around Shade, Gambit left the control room and went down to meet her.
Posted by Shade on Jun 29, 2007, 14:37 Shade had not known what to expect from a ‘danger Room? but somehow her mental images had been more something like a usual training room, maybe with some technical stuff and gadgets. When her sorroundings started to change, she was taken aback and turned to watch them, completely fascinated. In a matter of seconds a complete neighbourhood built around her and, feeling curious, Shade did a few steps to carefully reach for a fence. It was solid. "Wow." she said, then looked up, seeing Gambit walk towards her. "This is weird." she said, testing the ground with her feet. It really felt like a random street.
Posted by Gambit on Jun 29, 2007, 14:42 "Only de first five minutes," Gambit said, his face lit up with a content grin at her reaction. "Den you jus' forget and think it's a usual town." He turned his neck a little to stretch it. "Dis be our warm-up area, nothin' else, you ain't doin' any special assignments or anythin', so don't worry."
Posted by Shade on Jun 29, 2007, 14:45 "Okay." Shade said, still fascinated with the holograms. She looked up the street, then the houses. All of this was so real. "So what do we do?" she then asked.
Posted by Gambit on Jun 29, 2007, 14:59 Gambit pointed in a direction a bit to the right. There was a tall building with a neon sign up above the rest of the neighborhood. "Dat's point B. We're in point A. We simply have to get dere as fast as possible. We can do it de easy way - together, or de normal way - apart, or de hard way - me chasing you. Your choice?"
Posted by Shade on Jun 29, 2007, 15:13 Shade followed his explanations. "Normal way." she decided. She’d most likely not stand much of a chance if she chose the last option now.
Posted by Gambit on Jun 29, 2007, 15:18 "Okay," Gambit nodded. "One piece of advice - don't run along de streets. Most of 'em end wit' dead ends." Which mostly meant climbing, jumping and getting over all kinds of fences. "Plus, dere are no people here, so if you see open doors or windows on your way, you can use 'em."
Posted by Shade on Jun 29, 2007, 15:23 That sounded managable, Shade thought, but she figured she’d have to keep the direction of their goal in mind in order not to run off into a completely wrong direction at some point. "All right." she said, rubbing her hands. "So, you go first then I go, or other way round?"
Posted by Gambit on Jun 29, 2007, 15:28 "Whatever is fine," Gambit grinned. "Race you!" - and he dashed off into the nearest side-street.
Posted by Shade on Jun 29, 2007, 15:32 Having no idea about where this parcours was leading, Shade tried to go for the easiest option for starters - following Gambit who would without question outrace her pretty quickly. Following him into the side street at full speed, she saw him jump over a fence and followed the same way, although her jump was far more ungraceful and when she landed on the other side, he was already a far way ahead.

Posted by Gambit on Jun 29, 2007, 15:42 Gambit's idea was to put some distance between them and then go his own way - more complicated and long than the actual A-B straight line. After all, this was his own training, too, so he wasn't going to simply race Shade to the finishing point.
He could still hear her steps somewhere behind him. That meant she could still see him. He jumped up, catching the lower bar of the fire escape ladder, pulled himself up and climbed onto the fire escape staircase and into the building.
Posted by Shade on Jun 29, 2007, 15:48 Shade could still see him. As Gambit climbled up the ladder she decided not to follow him but take another way. Maybe there was something easier she thought. She raced on along the street, then turned right and into a building. Crossing it quickly she found herself in a small backyard with a brick wall. It had to be the right way of sorts because looking up she could still see the building with the neon sign. She climbed the brick wall which fortunately was only as high as her shoulders but it took her some seconds. Then she raced on, turning into another side street.
Posted by Gambit on Jun 29, 2007, 16:18 Glancing out of the window, Gambit caught the last glimpse of Shade disappearing around the corner into the labyrinth of streets. She was heading in the right direction, so he decided it was time to stop worrying about her and get down to his own plans.
He jumped out of the window onto the roof of a garage nearby, ran along it and, catching a branch of a tall tree above the garage, swung himself over the fence into the next yard.
Posted by Shade on Jun 29, 2007, 16:28 Shade ran on, by now having no idea where Gambit had headed. He would most likely take a more difficult road, but she didn?t feel like imitating that. For now it would do just to make her way through. It was hard to tell how long the way was and how much she had done of it already. Shade slowed down a little as she could feel the running affect her a little by now. Reaching the end of the street she turned left only to see a dead end, then looked ahead and saw a small pass through in a fence between two narrow houses. She slowed down again and squeezed throw, trotting on after she had made it through. Looking up she saw she was already a good deal closer to the neon sign building.
Posted by Gambit on Jun 29, 2007, 16:43 Gambit was moving much more in vertical directions, pulling up and jumping down, than he was actually making progress towards the destination point. His foremost task was to stretch his body properly and put every muscle and bone to good use. He even climbed head down along some ladders just to get his sense of balance work well.
Posted by Shade on Jun 29, 2007, 16:47 Shade concentrated on trying to find the easiest and most effective way. Another two or three times she ended up in dead ends and about as often she ran through a house, one of them just having a window at the back to get out.
Her breath was hurried by now but she had kept her steady trod instead of the speed she had taken on at the beginning. Climbing a fire ladder to be able to get down into yet another back yard, she jumped down about three feet and ran on. Turning around another corner, she saw she had reached her aim and smiled to herself. Leaning against the wall of the building she gave herself a moment to calm down her heartbeat.
Posted by Gambit on Jun 29, 2007, 17:02 Finishing his intricate route and sometimes even running through certain parts of it twice, just to make sure everything was done in the most efficient way, Gambit finally reached the tall building that was point B. Shade was already there.
He walked over to her, letting his body relax a little as he strode. "How was de normal way, Shade?" he asked with a grin.
Posted by Shade on Jun 29, 2007, 17:18 Shade knew her face was slightly flushed from the running, but he had taken some time so her heartbeat was already normalising again. She mirrored his grin. "Good." she said. "I’m not really trained in that sort of thing though, but at least I found my way."
Posted by Gambit on Jun 29, 2007, 17:46 "Well, now your body knows it's up for some excercise," Remy said. "Dat was de whole point."
Posted by Shade on Jun 29, 2007, 21:09 Shade nodded. "Yep." she said. "Guess it is. She found he had been right earlier. After her run the whole place looked less strange than it had minutes ago. Seems your already getting used to it, Shadey, she thought. Then she looked back at Gambit. "So that was kind of a warm up then." she guessed. "What now?"
Posted by Gambit on Jun 29, 2007, 23:34 "Now your self-defence," Gambit said. "Of course, I would say best defence is offence... but prob'ly not your case." (( "guessed"? he told her it would be a warm-up... ))

Posted by Shade on Jun 29, 2007, 23:40 "Especially if the attacker is two heads bigger and much heavier." Shade agreed. ((She’s slow at times ))
Posted by Gambit on Yesterday at 0:06 "Mais non, dat would be de exact case of "best defence is offence", where your advantage is your unexpected attack..." Gambit objected. "Never mind." He took a step closer, but leaned back, as if studying her.
Posted by Shade on Yesterday at 0:12 Shade followed his gaze. "What?" she asked?. "Trying to find out my strong points for attacking?"
Posted by Gambit on Yesterday at 0:19 "Non," Remy said, "your weak points." He grabbed her by the sides of her collar and shook her once, grinning. "Your wallet or your life, honey. What do ya think you can do now?"
Posted by Shade on Yesterday at 0:29 Shade hadn?t expected him to attack at once, but Gambit had left her hands free. She knew he’d take her reaction to this as a serious attempt and she also knew that he expected her to react with all she could right now. Therefore she didn?t bother to struggle, knowing this would take away power and the surprise of her attack. Instead she kicked him against the shin and then balled her hands to fists, jerking them upwards in an attempt to blast his grip.
Posted by Gambit on Yesterday at 0:44 Her hand maneuver didn't do much to his grip, but could be effective against someone weaker. Gambit glanced down at her kick. " 'ey, not bad," he remarked. "Aim at de bone 1-2 inches below de knee. But your hands need better use." He let go of her clothes. "Grab me de same way."
Posted by Shade on Yesterday at 0:48 Shade had guessed it wouldn?t affect him much but it had been worth a try. She nodded and did as he told her, grabbing him by the collar which was of course not as effective as the other way round as Gambit was quite a bit taller than her.
Posted by Gambit on Yesterday at 1:05 "Okay, so..." Gambit said, raising his hands up to Shade's elbows. "All humans an' most mutants got painful points here..." he took careful hold of her wrist extensors, positioning his thumbs on the upper sides of her hands and indicating the painful points, "if I press here..." he applied pressure to his thumbs, not to much but so she would know it hurt, "pain makes you release your grip."
Posted by Shade on Yesterday at 1:10 Shade flinched slightly as she hadn?t known that little pressure would have such an effect. "Now that’s easy" she commented, releasing her grip on his collar.
Posted by Gambit on Yesterday at 1:15 As her hands bent automatically in reaction to his grip, Gambit continued, "... and while ya handle de pain, dat give me a second t' do dis..." he slowly imitated a punch on her jaw, "dis...", a hit on her throat with the sharp of his hand, "or maybe dis..." a punch in her gut. "I can even poke yer eyes out." He imitated that as well. "Hands are absolutely free."
Posted by Shade on Yesterday at 1:18 Shade nodded, memorising what he told her. "I see." she said. "I heard somewhere that it’s also rather effective when you push someone under the nose with the heel of hand." She demonstrated the movement in the same manner Gambit had done before.
Posted by Gambit on Yesterday at 1:22 "Yep, or under de lower lip, into de chin hollow," Gambit nodded, bringing his hand up to that spot on Shade's face. "But ya need careful practice to hit those exact spots t' achieve maximum pain effect, an' it's not easy when you're actually attacked, stressed an' need t' act very quickly."
He walked behind her and took her into the circle of his arms, blocking her hands just above their elbows close to her body. "Any ideas?"
Posted by Shade on Yesterday at 10:49 Shade thought for a moment. Her arms were useless in such a situation she figured but she had her legs free. Doing a slight step forwards she raised her knee and did a slight kick backwards, aiming to hit the spot below the knee he had mentioned earlier. She didn?t kick hard, just to demonstrate. "Something like this?" she suggested.
Posted by Gambit on Yesterday at 11:05 "For example," Remy said. "However, your arms are free to move. Since I'm a guy, you can simply move your hand behind ya an' tear my balls off. Dat will help ya get free in no time. But prob'ly not now wit' my costume."
Posted by Shade on Yesterday at 11:12 Shade chuckled a little. "And what do I do if the person attacking me does wear a costume?" she asked.
Posted by Gambit on Yesterday at 11:14 "Well, ya kick wit' your legs, 'course, 'mong other things..." Remy said. He walked up in front of her. "Here, you try holdin' me, I'll show."
Posted by Shade on Yesterday at 11:18 Again Shade imitated the grip Gambit had done before, holding him by the arms, trying to get a steady stand.

Posted by Gambit on Yesterday at 11:25 Gambit glanced behind at her a little, then raised his foot. "I can either break your knee cap..." he set his heel onto her knee, "dat hurt like hell. But needs careful aim. Or kick ya off balance..." bringing his foot betweeen Shade's legs and making a kick aside to throw her legs apart. "Won't work wit' heavy weight. Or de crush your foot," with that, he set his boot on top of her foot. "Or de simplest thing - drop," he made a tiny jump, for a second hovering in the air.
Posted by Shade on Yesterday at 11:33 Of course, as Gambit was much heavier than her, Shade had no chance to maintain the grip, because when he jumped and hovered, his entire weight was put on her grip. Too perplexed to react quickly enough, she felt herself pulled forward and toppled against him. Posted by Gambit on Yesterday at 12:09 Gambit landed back on his feet, placing them wider apart for balance. Bringing his hands back, he supported Shade so that she wouldn't fall further. "Of course, not every weight suits here," he commented. "But den you can always kick wit' your head," he did so, softly hitting Shade in the face. (( I got a few more mins ))
Posted by Shade on Yesterday at 12:14 Shade nodded, listening to him. "What if the person grabbing me from behind has a gun?" she asked. "Or the person doesn?t even grab but has a gun." It had been like this in Tunisia. Simple and effective as these tricks were, they might be problematic against an armed attacker.
Posted by Gambit on Yesterday at 13:41 "We'll get t' weapons next time," Gambit said. He walked around behind her again and took hold of her the same way, but this time the circle of his arms was slighly below her elbows. "Now dis guy makes a mistake and leaves your elbows free. Your move?"
Posted by Shade on Yesterday at 13:52 For some reason she found this grip more difficult to react to, but it left her more ways to move her upper arms and shoulders. She did a small fall out step and yanked her ellbows back so they would slam into his stomach if she had applied more pressure to her movement while at the same time she jerked her left shoulder up and backwards as if aiming for his chin or neck. "This." she suggested. "And my legs are free too, so I could kick again."
Posted by Gambit on Yesterday at 14:00 "Not bad," Gambit agreed, "but here's something easier," once again, he stepped in front of her, making her repeat the same grip on him.
Posted by Shade on Yesterday at 14:05 Shade found this was actually fun. It woke her curiosity and gave her the feeling that there were actually efficient ways to defend herself. If there was one thing she truly hated it was feeling helpless. She held Gambit’s arms the way he had helt hers earlier, waiting what he would do.
Posted by Gambit on Yesterday at 14:15 Gambit raised his shoulders a bit, making his elbows slip higher, and twisted his hands outwards, freeing them. "Like dis," he said. "Now I can do dis..." he made a move with his elbow at Shade's solar plexus behind him, "or dis..." into her chest, "or possibly dis..." his elbow went higher, reaching Shade's face. "If you're quick enough, dat kick in de face can give a good blow. Now hold better on your feet..."
Posted by Shade on Yesterday at 15:07 All this worked simpler than Shade would have thought. No complex series of punches and kicks, but simple stuff that actually looked easy and useful. "Okay." she said, getting a better stand.
Posted by Gambit on Yesterday at 15:12 Gambit jumped upwards, then added a light kick off Shade's upper thighs, leaping out of her grip forward. He dove down headfirst, rolled on the ground and stood up.
Posted by Shade on Yesterday at 15:20 The movement was far to quick and agile for Shade to properly react to it. Gambit was free of her grip before she really knew what he was doing and she didn?t doubt that she wouldn?t have been able to fight him if he had not merely demonstrated but acted out the kicks. She looked at him, slightly baffled. "Wow." she said. "It looks completely easy when you do that, but I doubt it is."
Posted by Gambit on Yesterday at 15:30 "Unfortunately, it came wit' practice," Gambit said, turning around. "Let's do one more round b'fore we practice." With that, he walked to stand by her side, slightly behind her, and took hold of her elbow. "Any ideas?"
Posted by Shade on Yesterday at 15:34 Just one elbow? Shade thought. This looked easier than his earlier grips. "I’ve got one free arm and two free legs." she mused aloud. "So I could do something like this." She did a quick spin so she was standing oposit of him, bringing her free hand up into his face softly, clenched to a fist. "Or this." She feigned stepping on his foot, bringing her knee up to his croth and her fist to punch his kidneys.

Posted by Gambit on Yesterday at 16:30 "Yeah, good," Gambit said. "But de kidney punch is better from de back, more painful."
Posted by Shade on Yesterday at 16:31 Shade nodded. "Okay, I’ll keep that in mind." she said, content with the fact that he approved of her ideas.
Posted by Gambit on Yesterday at 17:23 "Awright..." Gambit said thoughtfully, circled her a little to distract her, then once again grabbed the sides of her collar with both hands. "Your wallet or your life!"
Posted by Shade on Yesterday at 17:39 It took her about two or three seconds to rewind what Gambit had told her. Then Shade kicked for his knee, aiming at the point he had told her about earlier and lifted both her hands to quickly find the painful points at his elbows, pressing them, but not too hard, just enough to make it hurt a little and make sure he got what she would do if this were an actual danger situation.
Posted by Gambit on Yesterday at 17:44 Releasing her, Gambit immediately went behind her and grabbed her around, pinning her hands to her body.
Posted by Shade on Yesterday at 17:52 Shade stepped on Gambit’s foot, then did a kick backwards and, finding the roll he had done earlier to difficult to perform, jerked her head back, attempting to kick it under his chin.
Posted by Gambit on Yesterday at 19:10 "Ouch... ouch... and ouch," Gambit said, commenting every move Shade made.
They practiced all grasps and counteractions a few more times until Shade was able to do them more deftly and efficiently. "Tired or wanna do some more?" Gambit asked.
Posted by Shade on Yesterday at 19:18 The training was taking some effect but Shade felt her adrenaline was still high and demanding for some more. "Give me a few minutes to take a break and then let’s do some more." she suggested.
Posted by Gambit on Yesterday at 19:26 "A break?" Gambit asked with a smirk. "I don't give breaks. We can run t' some other place in de area."
Posted by Shade on Yesterday at 19:29 Shade slightly shook her head, chuckling. "All right then." she said. "I’ll postpone the break then." She wasn?t feeling too tired yet. She could take some more.
Posted by Gambit on Yesterday at 19:42 "Okay," Gambit said, taking a step off to the direction away from here. "Keep up!" he ran off, picking a good speed, but not too fast.
Posted by Shade on Yesterday at 19:50 Shade started to run, following him. He was in much better shape than she was, but she noticed he wasn?t going at full speed. Still she had to remember something Gambit had told her some weeks ago when they had been out for dinner after being to the cinema. That he wouldn?t cut her a slack for being a woman. And he didn?t, which she apprecheated although after a while it became more difficult to keep up with him.
Posted by Gambit on Yesterday at 20:02 Gambit put some distance between them, until he hid in a side alley, waiting for Shade to run past.
Posted by Shade on Yesterday at 20:05 Shade ran on, taking away a little speed when she could no longer see Gambit. When had she lost track of him? She didn?t know and brushed the thought away with an inward shrug, running down the street into the direction she thought he had gone.
Posted by Gambit on Yesterday at 20:21 Gambit appeared behind her noiselessly, grabbed her and put his arms around her, pinning her arms to her body slightly below their elbows. It was her chance to actually try it out with some stress involved.
Posted by Shade on Yesterday at 20:31 Shade gave a small shriek of surprise when she felt herself grabbed, her mind instantly starting to race in an attempt to recall what Gambit had taught her minutes earlier. For a short moment she started to aimlessly struggle from instinct, then she reacted, kicking on his foot and jerking up her shoulder, hitting them against what she felt was Gambit’s collarbone. She hit him harder then she had intended to and flinched inwardly but his sudden attack had caught her off balance.
Posted by Gambit on Yesterday at 21:01 Gambit released her. The blow she gave him was rather powerful, but his costume gave him good protection, otherwise he'd have a bruise there later.
"Okay," he said. "Good."
Posted by Shade on Yesterday at 21:06 Shade turned around and faced him with a content grin. "Thanks." she said. "But I guess I could use a break now." She felt she was breathing heavier now, after the run and the start he had given her.
Posted by Gambit on Yesterday at 21:13 "Let's stop for today," Gambit said. "Better, let's go back an' see de recorded session; if ya don't mind, Gambit'd like t' see how ya ran de course."

Posted by Shade on Yesterday at 21:15 Shade nodded. "I don?t mind at all." she said. "Should look funny in some places."
Posted by Gambit on Yesterday at 21:21 "Okay," Gambit said. "End of session," he commanded. The holograms of the town simulation disappeared, leaving them near the room entrance. The Danger Room had its own nifty ways of converting its area into an illusion of vast space.
Posted by Shade on Yesterday at 21:35 Shade looked around her when the holograms vanished, finding this almost as weird to watch as when they had first appeared. "So there are surveillance cameras here?" she asked, looking up the walls, referring to him saying he wanted to have a look at which route she had taken earlier.
Posted by Gambit on Yesterday at 21:46 "Dis place really monitors itself," Gambit said. "Chooses its own ways an' means t' do so. We simply get de movie to watch later."
Posted by Shade on Yesterday at 22:02 "I see." Shade chuckled slightly. "That’s the kind of technical stuff where one better shouldn?t ask how it works because if you try to understand it winds up your brain." she said.
Posted by Gambit on Yesterday at 22:13 " 'xactly," Gambit nodded. They went into the control room, and Gambit sat down into one of the chairs in front of the screens. First of all he loaded the map of the simulation area onto one of the screens. It had all kinds of markings that he had invented for himself to indicate various types of obstacles according to his own system. The map had his and Shade's routes marked on it, with his one being a lot longer and complex. "Dieu, Gambit did some serious runnin'..." he chuckled.
Posted by Shade on Yesterday at 22:18 Shade followed his gaze and chuckled. He hadn?t arrived at the neon sign that much later than her, but his route was a lot longer. "Wow." she said grinning. "So you either really in need of a work out... or just hopelessly disoriented."
Posted by Gambit on Yesterday at 22:29 "Yeah," Gambit said, not really thinking that statement of hers needed exact answer. He found several archive records of his earlier runs along the same area and then started Shade's run on one of the screens.
Posted by Shade on Yesterday at 22:34 Shade had always found it a little weird to see herself on some TV screen ... after she had surpassed her pre-school age and stopped hopping into the picture whenever one of her parents would want to do some home video. Therefore, watching herself seemed funny and she had been right - that climb over the brick wall in that back yard looked every bit as ungraceful as it had felt.
Posted by Gambit on Yesterday at 22:44 Gambit didn't bother about her grace, speed or whatever other quality; none of them had anything to do with efficient ways of getting over obstacles, so that wasn't his concern.
"Okay," he paused the video, "here ya do what, ya find support for your feet, get a bit higher an' pull yaself over de wall. If only ya looked a bit t' de right..." he gave the coordinates of that area to the computer and receiver the close-up of the yard on another screen, "ya'd see dis railin' from de balcony above. Now, it don't really help t' pull yourself up, dat takes too much energy an' you get tired, we don't want dat. So my suggestion - which would be just a suggestion..." he put his own run on video, showing the exact same spot he did a few years ago, and commented his own actions, "ya grab dis railin'... hold it... your feet run up de wall... reach de top... ya give yourself a pull... let go of railin'... and you're on de wall, all ya gotta do is jump off now."
Posted by Shade on Yesterday at 22:49 Like earlier when he had rolled free of her grip, the movements of the younger Gambit were smooth as a cat’s and Shade watched closely, trying to remember how he did it. It indeed looked easier than simply pulling up. "Right." she said. "I’ll try that next time."
Posted by Gambit on Yesterday at 22:59 "It's just an example," Gambit glanced at her. "Dere be no right or wrong ways of doin' it; jus' some take more energy and others take less. We're doin' self-defence an' survival trainin', no combat whatsoever. Since you don't wanna fight, your task is simply to survive. To do dat, you must preserve as much energy as you can, or you won't run far. So always look for ways to do things de easiest way."
Posted by Shade on Yesterday at 23:03 "Sounds logical." Shade said, still paying attention to the screen. "And in addition to that I can use my powers to confuse attackers I guess." She thought about his words. This kind of training seemed effective and she could use these tricks about weak spots and where to hit to cause pain in a situation like the previous ones where she had felt helpless. It would also have helped to deal with those blokes that had invaded her apartment that night in late summer.

Posted by Gambit on Yesterday at 23:12 "Dat's a huge advantage ya got," Gambit nodded. "Always have it ready, as your weapon."
He fast-forwarded through the rest of her run, stopping at some places and going over her actions in detail. He wanted to introduce Shade to some sort of system, of logic which lay behind every move and which helped to find the most efficient ways of dealing with walls, fences, ladders, windows, trees and other things.
Posted by Shade on Yesterday at 23:17 It wouldn?t be difficult to follow his advise. Her powers were a part of herself to an extent that it had become a usual reaction to have them kick in when there was danger. It would have been her natural reaction back in Tunisia as well, but these men had had guns and that would have proven to risky. Still she had had to take conscious efforts to force back her instincts of vanishing.
She followed his instructions, finding them pretty useful. What Gambit said made sense, the way he talked about it told her clearly that these moves and tricks were already a part of him and had been so for many years.
Posted by Gambit on Yesterday at 23:25 When they were done, Gambit switched everything off. "I ain't settin' any time for de next trainin' because only tomorrow we'll see how your body reacts to today's session," he said, standing up. "But de next time we'll do a totally different thing, dat I can promise."
Posted by Shade on Yesterday at 23:28 Shade nodded, then glanced at him, raising her eyebrows. "Totally different?" she asked. "I guess it would take away some of the training effect if you told me more?" She was curious, as always.
Posted by Gambit on Yesterday at 23:44 "Dunno what you mean," Gambit replied with a small shrug. "We'll get dere in time, hold your horses." He walked to the exit.
Posted by Shade on Yesterday at 23:46 "What I meant was that if I knew what was coming I would be prepared which I normally wouldn?t be when it happened out there in real life." she explained, joining him on his way to the exit. Although the lesson had not actually drenched her, she felt a little tired now. And a shower would do her good.
