Wanda strode into the bar, heels clicking against the floor. She had an air of someone who knew she was beautiful, but didn't flaunt it. Much. Her curly hair cascaded down her shoulders, dark against the scarlet of her clothes.
Walking up to the bar, she looked for a bartender. She needed something strong. Something to...take the edge off.

"Bon jour chere," Remy walked over to her. He definitely saw her for the first time - at least here. "What can I get ya?"

"Something strong," she said, pushing a lock of hair behind an ear, as she took a seat at the bar.
((That works))

"Vodka-whiskey-gin-rum-brandy?" Remy named quickly, still giving her some choice.
Posted by Wanda Maximoff on Jun 25, 2007, 23:56
"Whiskey," she chose. She looked at him, taking in his accent. Had she met him before? No, she decided finally.
Posted by Gambit on Jun 25, 2007, 23:59
"Bon," Remy nodded, getting a bottle of whiskey. If she wanted something strong, most probably she would object to ice in her drink. He poured her a glass of whiskey and placed it in front of her.

She noticed he didn't pour ice in the drink. Ice, and water only diluted the alcohol, and she didn't want that. Not now. Picking up the shot of whiskey, she downed it in record time, reveling in the burning feeling it created, running down her throat. She set it down, the glass clinking against the counter.
"May I have another, please," she asked, watching him.

Must be a season for girls drinking whiskey like water, Remy decided, so he gave no reaction to that. "Sho," he said, refilling her glass. "Boredom, desperation, or de healin' factor?" he asked, giving a small smile.
Posted by Wanda Maximoff on Jun 26, 2007, 0:20
She took the glass, giving him a look at his comment. "More like anger and disappointment," she said bitterly. She appreciated his service, and reminded herself to give him a good tip. She had plenty of money, she and Pietro had saved a lot to stay in America, but thanks to Uncle, they needn't spend any of it on room and board.
Picking up the glass, she raised it to him slightly, before downing it.

"Cheers t' drownin' your anger," Remy nodded at her gesture.
Posted by Wanda Maximoff on Jun 26, 2007, 0:32
She snickered slightly, giving him a small smile. "I just wish to...forget a few recent events, is all. And as my brother happened to run away from his anger, I'm left to deal with it in my own way. And I can't catch him," she admitted. Her accent became slightly thicker as she drank.
"Another, please?"
Posted by Gambit on Jun 26, 2007, 0:35
A few details of a puzzle clicked together in Gambit's mind. "Is your brother's name Pietro, by any chance?" he asked as he refilled her glass.
Posted by Wanda Maximoff on Jun 26, 2007, 0:39
She raised an eyebrow, watching him closely. The alcohol was starting to take it's effect. "Yes it is, why? Did he slow down enough to stop here?" She asked, smiling to herself slightly. She picked up the drink and downed it, but this time slower than the others.
Posted by Gambit on Jun 26, 2007, 0:41
"He did," Gambit nodded, "though he seemed to have made it here faster dan you, anyway. Wanda, isn't it?"
Posted by Wanda Maximoff on Jun 26, 2007, 0:48
She raised an eyebrow. Pietro was here? When did he stop by? "That much is obvious, it doesn't take him long to get anywhere," she commented.
"Yes, my name is Wanda," she said, a wry smile on her face, as she pronounced the 'W' in Wanda with a slightly heavier German accent. She held out her hand. "You know so much about me, but I don't even know your name," she countered.

"You would get to know it in a second, even if ya didn' ask," Remy smiled. He took her hand and briefly kissed her fingers. "De name is Gambit, chere."
Posted by Wanda Maximoff on Jun 26, 2007, 1:11
"Well, it's very nice to meet you, Gambit," she replied, watching as he brought her hand to his lips.
"I would be most grateful if you could supply me with another drink as well," she said, smiling. "I haven't drunk nearly enough." Her tolerance was high, and the alcohol was slow in taking effect. The only noticeable change from three drinks ago was that her accent was thicker.

"With pleasure," Remy smiled, refilling her glass. "Do you live at Xavier's? Jus' so I would know what address t' give to de taxi driver when you reach your 'enough'."
Posted by Wanda Maximoff on Jun 26, 2007, 1:22
"Yes, I do," she said, nodding. "And of course Pietro wouldn't say so, because he never reaches his 'enough', or anything close," she said, shaking her head slightly. She felt sorry he couldn't feel the pleasant buzz; the alcohol was absorbed into his body too quickly. He was immune. Luckily for her, she wasn't.
Posted by Gambit on Jun 26, 2007, 11:05
"From de point of view of dese five minutes dat I know ya, you two seem very different people," Remy remarked. "Is it really so, or jus' th' fault of de first five minutes?"
Posted by Wanda Maximoff on Jun 27, 2007, 3:55
She shook her head, hair tossing back and forth. "No, we're a lot alike, actually, he just doesn't have a lot to say," she replied, downing the shot. "An' you'll never have to see him drunk," she said, smiling somewhat bitterly, directed at herself. "So it's just the five minutes." Maybe she ought to slow down; her words were slurring slightly, and she felt as if she'd stumble if she got up right now.
Posted by Gambit on Jun 27, 2007, 16:46
"So how many minutes have I got left 'til de revelation?" Remy wondered with a smile. Even if alcohol had no effect on her brother, it sure had its effect on her, as he noticed by the sound of her voice and the slower blinking of her eyelids.
Posted by Wanda Maximoff on Jun 28, 2007, 1:38
"I dunno," she said, frowning as she thought about it. "How much time do you have?"
Posted by Gambit on Jun 28, 2007, 9:19
"All de time in de world, chere," Remy said, spreading his arms.
