From what Brady had told him, it seemed they didn't have much time to get done with all the formalities, and the last thing Kevin wanted was to put it all off for the last minute. He didn't have much idle money, either, but he had promised her they'd do it properly and he didn't want to downgrade this experience for her.
While in the mall, Morph left Brady in a shop she wanted to browse, and went to find the jewelry store. After changing his appearance, he was certain she wouldn't recognize him if she happened to walk in on him in the same store. He bought a ring that he thought he could afford and which he thought Brady would like.
He wasn't a romantic person, so the idea of proposing to her at a candle-light dinner or even at some pretty place like some bridge in the Central Park completely escaped him, especially since the weather wasn't really inviting for that sort of thing, but he did take her to a small restaurant not far from where they lived. She probably treated it as a simple Saturday outing, but he couldn't tell, of course.

Brady browsed through a few shops. Of course, looking through maternity clothes for herself and baby clothes, because she just couldn't help it. She didn't buy anything, but she did place some things on hold. She didn't suspect anything from Kevin. When he left she just thought he wanted to go and look through some shop that would probably hold little interest to her.
Now, sitting at a table with Kevin at a small restaurant, Brady took a drink of her water. Looking at Kevin, she smiled, "Today was really nice," She told him, "I like our little outings."

Kevin smiled, looking at her. "In other words, you don't like sitting with me at home all day long?"

Brady laughed and shook her head, "I love sitting home with you all day long, but I like going out every now and again." She smiled.

"Ah okay," Kevin nodded. "Sounds fair to me." He thought for a moment; maybe this was the right time to stop with the chatting and get down to business. He reached into his pocket and took out the small velvet box with the ring, hiding it in his palms for now. Clearing his throat a bit, he said. "I know this won't come as a huge surprise or something, but..."

Brady tilted her head to the side as she watched him, "But, what?" She asked, smiling with a slightly quirked brow.

"But it should be done regardless," Kevin gave a slightly unconfident smile as he opened the box, turning it so that Brady could see the ring inside. "Will you marry me?"

Brady eyes wandered to the opened box as Kevin turned his hand and she stared at the ring for a moment, her eyes starting to water. She blamed her hormones, due to she knew that this was going to happen, but she didn't know when. She brought a hand to her mouth and her head started to nod slightly, "Yes," She whispered, "Yes, I'll marry you." She said looking up at Kevin with a big smile and a few tears running down her cheeks.

Kevin smiled wider. "Aw, come on, don't..." he reached out with one hand to touch her cheek and wipe a tear off. He knew she was generally emo-hormonal recently, and still he was touched by her reaction.

"I'm sorry," Brady said with a small laugh, "Damned hormones." She murmued, a few more tears escaping her eyes. She grabbed her napkin and wiped the tears away, before smiling at Kevin. Looking down at the ring, she brought her hand to the box, her fingers grazing the velvet edge.
"It's beautiful." She said, looking back up at him, trying not to cry.

"I tried my best," Kevin smiled. "I didn't have the faintest idea of what I was looking for, but I'm glad you like it." He picked it carefully from the box and gently took Brady's hand. It really was a shame he had never gotten to do it with Eva... The happiness in Brady's eyes was worth all the troubles in the world, and he had had no idea he could have made Eva feel the same way. But that was over, and he got another chance to make somebody happy. He fell thoughtful for a second.

"I love it," Brady said and then brought her free hand up to his cheek, "I love you more, though." She told him. Too blind by happiness to notice anything around them.

Morph snapped out of it, then finally put the ring on Brady's finger. It fitted perfectly, mostly because he had been morphed into a girl as he had been choosing the ring and his hand had been morphed into a copy of Brady's so that he would be able to find the right size. He often wondered at the peculiar unexpected situations when his powers would come in handy.
"I love you, too," he said sincerely, bringing Brady's fingers to his lips for a kiss, a small affectionate gesture he was unable to help at the moment.

Brady grinned and closed her eyes as his lips kissed her fingers. Mentally telling herself that she wasn't going to cry again. She loved him so much and him saying it, though he'd said it before, it made her want to cry from the immense happiness that she was feeling.

Morph released her hand, letting it lower to the table, though still holding the tips of her fingers. "So now we can start figuring out, where, when and how," he said.
