She shot him a quick, unsure look. "Yes...at first I did. It's what the Morlocks wanted. But I couldn't do it."

::With that explanation, the pieces of her life that she had revealed fell into place. This same group that had used her as an assassin had sent her here, but she had turned against them, knowing right from wrong, and stayed to mend her life. Recovered from the surprise, Pietro resumed a normal speed.:: "To Hell with them."

"They're already there, if you believe that sort of thing," Ty said quietly, relieved for his unphased acceptance but still sad for those she missed.

::Pietro believed more in a living Hell than he did in any sort of afterlife, but her point was clear to him. Driving through the gates, he turned onto the street which would lead them to the Parkway. He moved back in the conversation to what they had discussed before the digression.:: "I didn't mean to say he doesn't care, or doesn't help. But he's naive and he won't listen otherwise."

::The laugh told Pietro that she was amused by the statement, and he was grateful that she compared him to Uncle, rather than to Magneto. Turning onto the connecting street, they would be on the Parkway soon. His eyes glanced into the mirror to see her face.:: "Do you know what it's like growing up in a place where the only person who wasn't completely headstrong was Jean?"

"Frustrating?" Ty guessed, knowing that was probably an understatement.

"Like you wouldn't imagine," ::Pietro replied, shaking his head once to himself.:: "I'm not that stubborn, considering."

"Eeek." Ty made a face. "If you aren't that stubborn compared to the others, I don't want to experience that." Her voice was gently teasing.

::Pietro turned them onto the Parkway, increasing his speed when the opportunity arose.:: "You wouldn't have wanted to be there at the end of it."

"When Magneto left?" she asked gently, not wanting to bring him up but wondering if that's who he was speaking of.

::Pietro nodded slightly, eyes remaining on the road.:: "Around then, yes."

"When I was young, I ran away from my foster parents because of things like that," she replied, empathetic. "Add powers and things would have exploded."
