Shade had the catalog open on a page that featured a whole assembly of tribals. She looked up to catch his wink and returned the smirk, shortly sticking out her tongue at him, then gave the needle a sceptical glance. She had never been too fond of needles. Come on, Shadey, don´t be a sissy now, her inner voice told her and she almost chuckled at it.
After a moment she noticed, Gambit was glancing at the catalog and looked down at it again. There was a tribal for fire and it reminded her of her childhood nickname - the one Gambit had always found so peculiar. She wondered whether there were more tribals and whether she could piece them together in an assembly that resembled that nickname. She kept a finger between the pages and browsed on, playfully narrowing her eyes at him as if to rebuke him for trying to peek. "What you think about lower hip?" she asked. That might look good.

"Lotsa kinky things," Gambit smirked, pointedly ignoring the obvious fact that she meant it as a place for a tattoo. "Front, back, side?"

Shade chuckled, rolling her eyes in feigned annoyance. She thought for a moment. Back... no. Side... "Front." she said. Like that, she´d be able to see it properly, too.

"Either way, fine by me," Gambit smirked. The artist finished tracing the drawing and started to ink the outlines first.

The needle gave a slight buzzing sound which Shade chose to ignore as it didn´t sound too pleasant. Gambit didn´t react to it it seemed, which could mean it wasn´t that bad. Or that he simply had a higher pain tolerance. Or that he isn´t that much of a sissy, Shadey. She continued leafing through the catalog and after another moment found a second tribal, one for eye. She smiled like a kid at that and browsed back, tilting her head to the side. Yes, that might work, she thought. They looked pretty together.

"Any ideas?" Gambit asked, noticing she obviously had gotten some by now. The pain on his back wasn't anything he couldn't ignore, so he switched it off by letting his attention stray.

"Uh huh." Shade said, grabbing the chair with a hand and edging closer towards Gambit to show him. She opened the page with the fire tribal first, pointing at it. "I like this one and...." she browsed to the second "..this. I thought they look nice together and they´d have a kind of personal meaning instead of just looking pretty." The tribals were labelled so she didn´t have to explain. "It´s not an exact depiction of ´Bloody Fire in her Eyes´ but as close as it gets." She was starting to like the idea more and more. A little homage not just to coincidences or none, but especialyl to her childhood.

Gambit tilted his head slightly, studying the drawings. Then he nodded in approval. "Nice direction t' think in," he agreed. "How large d'ya want it? Dis large, like here?"

Shade thought about that for a moment. Both images were depicted with a size of about 10 cm across. "A little smaller maybe." she said. "like...the eye one on the top and the fire one diagonally from the to the right or something. Nothing too huge."

Gambit nodded. "Looks cool," he said.

Shade gave him a broad smile and shut the catalog. Now that she had made her choice, there wasn´t really anything to busy herself with so she couldn´t help but have her gaze stray towards the needle again with a mix of curiosity of how the thing worked the paint into his skin and a very slight uneasyness. "Hurts?" she asked, not to pity him if the answer was a yes, but rather seriously wondering how much it did so.

Gambit caught himself at the last second before shrugging - that wouldn't be a wise thing to do while getting a tattoo. "'Course," he said. "You'd 'xpect differently?"

"Nope." Shade said, slightly shuffling her feet, smirking. "I was just wondering whether people should get prepared to me screaming down the house already or if it´s not that bad." Sissy, her inner voice scoffed.

"Nothing we haven't heard before," the tattoo guy remarked, smirking. "If you want, we can try an empty needle first for you to see how it feels."
Gambit didn't comment on that, just tilted his head slightly to express his general agreement with the artist's remark.

Shade grinned at the first remark, but shook her head. She had already decided that she wanted that tattoo. It was similiar to what she had told Gambit back at the hospital. If ever she stepped back onto a bungee jumping platform, she would definitely jump. Same thing there, there would be no stepping out of that store with just having tried on an empty needle. "Would be unnecessary pain wouldn´t it?" she said, then made a little movement with her head towards Gambit. "He has permission to hold me down and keep me from wriggling."
