Morph reached for a piece of pizza. Chewing a piece, he studied Brady. "You know what..." he said, thinking. "I think you should cut down on pizzas after this one." There were so many things to consider now, and he was still adjusting to the idea.

Brady looked at him, swallowing, "Why?" she asked and took another bite.

"Well, because you're pregnant," Morph said, as if he was explaining some new fact to her. "And you need to watch out what you eat and drink. Something like that." And he would keep from smoking around her, of course.

"Oh..." Brady said, taking another bite, "So, no pizza after this? Ok." She nodded softly.

Morph continued eating his slice and then reached for the next one. What else he had to think about in terms of her being pregnant? "How do you suppose your father will take this?" he asked cautiously. It was not an pleasant subject, but one that had to be discussed.

Brady shrugged slightly, "I don't know. He'll probably either be royally pissed and disown me or estatic and want me to come back to France. I vote for the first one."

Brady shook her head slightly and then moved the pizza box on the coffee table setting her unfinished slice down before she went and got her purse, taking out her cell phone she started to dial a number.

Morph silently followed her with his glance. If she was calling her father now, it meant she wanted to get this issue clear once and for all right now, and as much as he wanted to offer her some support in it, he knew he could do nothing but sit quietly and patiently and wait for the verdict - and then they would just have to take it from there.

"Père..." Brady said when she heard her father answer, she started to pace slowly through the room. After listening to her father talk about the business she just blurted out she was pregnant in French. She then stopped pacing when her father was silent. "Père?" She asked, waiting for some sort of reply and what she got was just five words.
"You're not my daughter anymore..." He spoke and then hung up.
Brady just stood there for a moment and then looked at the phone in her hands before hanging up and going back to sit by Kevin, silently.

By the look on her face, Kevin guessed the outcome. It wasn't good.... but anything was better than uncertainty. And he realized he even felt some relief because that meant he wouldn't have to worry about the possibility of thugs her father would send to beat her up. Not anymore.
Wordlessly, he put an arm around her shoulders and pulled her towards himself into a gentle hug.

Brady leaned her head against his shoulder and wrapped her arm around his abdomen, "The first." She said quietly, referring to what she had said before. Her father disowned her, but she didn't think he was royally pissed.

"So I've guessed," Kevin replied with a small sigh. His mind instantly jumped to the question whether he would be able to support a family with a job like his... Probably he would; he'd tried it before. "I think you're better off this way... seriously."

Brady nodded, "Oh, I know," She said softly, "I'm just...I guess shocked is the word. I never thought he'd actually let me go..." She then smiled and looked up at him, "I have to get a normal job now."

"We'll see about that," Morph said. "The first thing that comes to my mind is that you probably should move out of here and move in to my place..." Boy that'd be a change of scenery...
