"Be careful 'bout it," Gambit smirked, "ya might find yaself wit' 1,500 pieces for a 1,000-piece puzzle." He finished his salad and, putting the plastic fork inside the empty box, closed the box and tossed it towards the bin. It hit the rim of the bin, but eventually tumbled inside. He gave another content smirk at that.

Shade grinned "Doesn´t sound too bad. Just like a challenge. And a better one than a guy who consists of 30 pieces and when you puzzle the picture all you get is a trashy butterfly." She followed his movement. Gambit had been faster on the door earlier and his coordination was better than it had been - which was obvious by the mere fact that he trusted his body enough again to buy a bike. Sure, he had been away for a while and one usually noticed progress easier when there was time in between. But still...
"I hope you were nice and told her thanks for the bracelett." she said, taking a shot into the blue. Someone described as a voodoo witch who believed in the protective powers of spirits and had raised Gambit, would probably want to have a look at his neck. And Shade´s words which sounded somewhat like a question guessed that he had seen her while he had been in New Orleans.

Gambit chuckled at the butterfly reference. He wondered whether she expected to get some worthy picture out of him or a Malevich Square.
"'Course I did," he said at her other remark. It had came seemingly out of nowhere, and he wondered what chain of associations lead her to thinking about Tante Mattie. There were several rather random guesses, and he decided it wasn't worth wasting his time on guessing.

Shade gave him a broad, happy smile. "Good." she said, then noticed that her trail of thoughts was rather twisted at the moment and it might be difficult to follow. "I guessed you´d seen her. Better coordination."

"Ya think she'd do anythin' 'bout my co-ordination?" Gambit wondered, not sure what image she had concerning Tante Mattie.

"You told me she does voodoo, so I thought she might have had a look at it or something." Shade said, shrugging. "I´ve got no idea about medicine or healing stuff or something, I just noticed your co-ordination has improved so it was a guess."

Gambit just quirked a brow at her. Her thoughts must have been jumping a lot since she connected things between themselves in such a random manner.

Shade chuckled slightly. "What?" she asked.

"Rien," Gambit said, touching the tip of her nose. He got up and walked to the shower.

Shade flipped onto her back and tossed her empty salad box into the bin before she got up. "It looked like you were thinking ´Dieu, she´s an oddball again.´" she joked, before she vanished, using her invisibility to sneak past him and block the bathroom door. She had of course taken a bath already, she had not bothered to get dressed after she had done so and her hair was still wet, but she decided to at least keep chatting or just watch him, because she enjoyed those little things. She reappeared in the door frame, giving the nails of her right hand a thoughtful look. "I don´t think I can let you in without paying." she said.

Gambit nearly stumbled into her, but halted in time and considered her suggestion for a second. It would only be fair for her to get her revenge in that little game of access to the shower he had played on her back in his apartment; however, he had never been too keen on paying. Leaning down, he hit her in the stomach with his shoulder and, using his shoulder as a support, straightened up, lifting her from the floor and leaving her hanging from his shoulder.

Shade let out a squeal, unable to react in time before she was already slung across Gambit´s shoulder. "Thou shalt feel the doorkeeper´s wrath." she announced, her voice ruining the dramatic effect of her words. "if thou darest to tread the paths she watches without her consent."

"No spik inglish," Gambit replied in a very authentic Spanish accent. He went inside the bathroom, turned around and lowered Shade to the floor just outside the bathroom. Then he stepped under the shower and turned the water on.

"And on walked the poor soul..." Shade said, suppressing a chuckle. "unknowing that his lack of communication ability would not save him in the end as the keeper was not intent on letting him pass that easily for a second time."
And she straightened up, both her hands against opposit sides of the foor frame, watching him with a grin. She had practised - that day where she had had that strange chat with the Doctor and Gabrielle at the lake, and every single day after. The idea of drawing patterns and lines of invisibility had been fun and fascinated her and now she concentrated and used it to let thin layers of skin vanish in her face and on her body in the feeble attempt of some exotic godess´ war paint. The pattern sure looked far from the artsy mental image she had from it and the lines formed slowly and not too smoothly as if some not too experienced invisible painter was drawing them on her with deliberate slowness and a shaky hand, but the effect was there and the lines looked slightly darker than her skin as they formed the parts of her body and face where the flesh shone through.

Gambit stuck his head under the falling water, enjoying the shower and oblivious to Shade's experiments.
