Shade raised her eyebrows, then looked down her body without getting up, regarding herself as if this was indeed odd. "Weird." she said with a fake scowl. "but what would be the use of that anyways?"

"What be de use of havin' fun?" Gambit wondered. "Anyways," he got up from the bed and grabbed for his jeans. "I'm goin' out t' get somethin' to eat, want me t' get ya somethin', too?"

First it struck her as a strange thing to say, but then Shade remembered that they were neither at his apartment nor at the mansion and that there was no fridge round the corner. She had eaten earlier that day but not had dinner. "Yeah." she said. "I´m not hungry for anything in particular so just get a little more of what you get."

Gambit chuckled at that. "Okay, so six eyeballs instead of four..." he mumbled, putting his jeans on.

Shade raised her head and gave him a broad smirk. "Make it five. I´m starving." she said.

Gambit didn't see how five was to compensate for her starving better than six, but didn't ask. "Whatever mademoiselle wishes," he said and put his shirt back on.

Shade smiled at him, then sat up. "Will be easy to please madmoiselle there." she said. "Better take the keys with you. If I take a shower I might not hear you knock."

Gambit just winked at her and went to the door where he had kicked his shoes off, to put them on.

Shade kept watching him silently for a moment while he got dressed, thinking that her questions were starting to nag her. Gambit probably knew. She did not ask yet. He was about to leave and there would be plenty of time later.

Gambit picked his sunglasses from the floor and got some money from his jacket, then threw a glance at Shade, winked again and left.

When he left, Shade spent a few brief moments looking at the door, before she flipped herself back onto the bed, staring at the ceiling. As light headed as she felt at the moment, as her thoughts were starting to get more coherent all the questions were back. Why did he avoid his apartment? Did it have to do with his warning about the Hellfire? She remembered that when he had first taken her to his place he had told her he did not want everybody to know where he lived - which made sense considering his lifestyle. The only reason she could think of why Gambit would give up his apartment was that he no longer regarded it as a safe place - which still left the question why? It was one question, one of a whole number.
Before she could start brooding on them too much, Shade got up and walked over into the bathroom. It did have a shower and a bathtub and after a moment of hesitation she decided for the latter, let in water and climbed in, closing her eyes in relaxation. She hardly noticed that she dozed off a little.

Gambit bought some salads and a few soft drinks, knowing they could have gone to the hotel's restaurant - it was still open - but he had no wish to be in places with many people right now. Maybe on breakfast, then.
He hadn't taken the keys from the room with him, preferring to practice with several lock picks he had in his pockets at the moment. Practice was becoming a desperate necessity; it was about time he had returned to his thieving business, and he was still unable to, and it was driving him crazy.
Checking the hallway for other hotel residents, he placed the bad with groceries down and knelt by the door, inserting the lock picks into the lock.

Shade had not been dozing for long, but when she returned to her senses the water had cooled down somewhat, so she washed and climbed out again, dried and returned to the bedroom with the towel round her hips. Entering, she noticed that the keys were still where she had left them and smiled slightly. Pausing where she was she listened and was not mistaken: someone was busy with the door and she could hear light scratching noises. Her smile broadened into a smirk. Typical, she thought. She might even have been surprised, had Gambit really taken the keys. She did not open the door of course, but untied the towel and started to dry her hair with it.

It took him longer than normally, of course, but less than twenty seconds - and with a soft click the door opened. He took the lock picks out, stood up and, grabbing the bag, came inside.

He had become better at it, Shade noticed. She stopped toweling her hair and straightened up. After her own attempt at picking a lock, she was even more impressed at Gambit´s skills in it, even though he was still lacking behind his usual form. "Mystique gave me an odd look when I asked her for lock picks." she said with a small grin.
