Betsy knew that all eyes were on them, and she loved that feeling. She pulled herself a little closer to Alec, the combination of the man, the music, the alcohol, and the attention exciting her.

Alec kept his cool, slowly taking in all the attention that the duo was receiving and beginning to get nervous about it. He quickly shrugged it off and continued dancing. What was the use in worrying? They were in a room full of mutants after all.

When the song was over, Betsy threw her arms around Alec and laughed. "That was so much fun!" she said as people around them went about their business. "I need a drink."

Alec looked at her and quizzically raised an eyebrow. "Another? Don't you think you need to go a little bit easier on them?" His hand slipped down to hers.

Betsy looked at him like he had said something ridiculous. She was used to drinking a lot more, and could drink most people she'd met under the table. She rolled her eyes and said, "I'll be fine."

He sighed and relented. "Whatever you say."

Betsy grinned the childish grin of a spoiled girl once again getting her way and lead the way back to the bar. She sat on the bar stool and ordered another drink. Resting one elbow on the bar, she turned to Alec and said, "I'm having a really good time. Thank you for that. I've been pretty bored lately."

He shrugged and grinned back. "All in a day's work. Truth be told I've been kinda bored lately as well. Still trying to settle in and I'm afraid I am pretty much failing at making loads of new friends."

Betsy nodded. "It can be tricky. Life at the mansion is tricky... so many different types of people going through so many different things. It's hard to know how to approach people sometimes."

"Tell me about it!" He really wished he had spent a little bit more time getting to know some of his new neighbors better. "Anybody in particular that you think I should work on meeting first?"

Betsy mulled it over for a moment before answering, "To be honest, I don't have that many friends there. The staff is cool, and there's a girl named Lorna that I get along with. You can't miss her, she's got bright green hair," she stopped to giggle, "We make quite the pair."

Alec nodded and smiled. "I imagine you two do." He paused for a moment searching the recesses of his memory before his smile began broaden. "Now that I think about it, yeah, I think I do remember her! We should all hang out sometime."

"Definitely!" Betsy agreed, "I've been promising to bring her here, but it never seems to pan out for some reason."

"It'd be fun, a sort of mutant club within a mutant club." He paused momentarily. "She would be able to get in wouldn't she?"

Attempting to look innocent, Betsy answered, "Welll... I can get in, so I'm assuming she'll be okay."
