::Apparently, Derek had misinterpreted what she had meant when talking about jewelry and other aspects. He smied sympathetically.:: "Well...as long as the loving's good, you can ease the rest of it in later."

"Not what I meant," she said, finishing off the wing and taking another drink. "I mean not right now. Any of it."

::Derek had no immediate reply to that beyond offering her some of his pitcher and taking a sip of his beer. When something finally came to mind, he blurted it out,:: "So he's collared you and dating you, but otherwise you're on the lay-away plan? I'm so sorry."

She looked like he'd smacked her. "Yeah, well, there's stuff you don't know."

"I'd have to assume so," ::Derek only knew what she'd mentioned thus far, and that couldn't possibly be the full extent of her relationship with her boyfriend. He refilled his glass from the pitcher.:: "If you want to talk about anything...I mean, I know we're not super-close, but I've been around."

She took that in with a nod. Their waitress returned, asking if they wanted anything else. Ty decided she'd better order something of her own food, so she got an order of cheese fries and an extra glass for beer. "He's kinda damaged. Worse then me damaged, at least right now."

::That was hardly the best way to enter a relationship. Derek had some experience with that, although not from his own childhood; rather through partners. His tongue was loosened from being on his third beer.:: "That's a hard situation. My ex had a lot of issues, although that isn't why we called it off. Does he have some sort of physical problems? I know a men's group."

"Seriously? I don't know. He explains what he can, but it's not much," she said. "Besides that he thinks he'll hurt me."

"Big guy, or mutant?" ::Derek assumed it had to be one of the two. He could get enthusiastic with a flogger, but he had never put off sex for fear of accidentally hurting someone. Then again, he was fairly average in size and most certainly not a mutant, simply fine with them.:: "And how long has it been?"

"Both," she said, in the midst of another wing. "And we've been dating two years, so..."

::Mutant powers could complicate everything, although Derek balked at the thought of two years being celibate in a relationship.:: "You said he was old-fashioned? Did he have a conservative upbringing, religious? I don't want to put ideas in your head...but he isn't gay, is he?"

She snorted. The waitress came by with her fries and glass, and Ty waited until she'd left again before she spoke up. "We haven't had sex, but believe me. He's not gay. As for the upbringing...he was raised by a Gypsy couple." She held out both hands in a 'you can figure out the rest' gesture, before pouring herself a glass of beer.

::Derek know only a bit about Gypsies, but he could put enough together.:: "All right, so he isn't gay." ::Derek took another chicken wing and ate it, while thinking.:: "Have you tried to work with the celibacy? To play into it to get something more out of it? Chastity can be *very* sexy."

"In what way? Just so I know that what you're thinking is what I'm thinking." She took a drink of beer; normally she wasn't a beer drinker, but for just one night, it wouldn't matter.

::Derek washed down the chicken wing with a sip of beer and then went on to explain what he had been thinking.:: "You two aren't sleeping together yet, but you could still do things with that. Sam and I for example, I bought her a belt; we don't use it all of the time because that would defeat the purpose, but she wears it sometimes. She is locked away, because she is waiting for *me* and only I can break her out, when I want to. And there are plenty of other options: dancing and putting on shows for instance."
