Erik shrugged. "I am nothing if not ambitious," He said, his expression carefully casual. He took a sip of his drink, feeling the beads of sweat on the glass.

"So rumor suggests," ::Odin replied equally casually.::

"And surely you believe in rumors," Erik said, almost teasingly. "That is what journalists spend time researching, after all."

::Odin had already explained that he was not quite a journalist, but there was no need to reshash that subject.:: "We try to cut through rumor to the truth."

"Have you cut away to my truth, then?" Erik asked. "Because I'm sure you don't believe everything you read in human newspapers." He liked this idea of a mutant-run magazine. It was refreshing, and he would have to keep in touch with Odin.

::That was a difficult question to answer. Without his current condition, Odin would take a moment of careful consideration before answering. He likely would have been able to learn more in the immediate aftermath of his response, but that was an ability of a lifetime past. Now, the compulsion led to honest and forthrightness, neither of which the situation required.:: "I believe so."

"And yet you still associate with me," Erik said, amused. "I take that as a good sign."

::Odin caught the attention of the bartender and ordered an iced tea, before turning back to Magneto.:: "Do other mutants generally run from you?"

"Some prefer not to associate me, even as much as you have currently," He said truthfully. "But many do not care, thankfully."

::Not faced with a direct question, Odin kept his thoughts to himself. Instead, he simply nodded.::

The conversation lulled, and Erik took the time to take another sip of his drink, and looked at the other man. He had no interest in joining the Brotherhood's forces, yet he was not repulsed by him or his philosophy. What did Odin want from him?

::When Odin's iced tea arrived, he paid the bartender and took a sip. His thoughts were much the same as Magneto's, curious as to why the man would have asked him to come to the Hellfire in the first place. However, what minimal ability to sense danger which he possessed was quiet, and he took comfort in that.::

Erik had come to the conclusion that the other man, while not wanting to take part in the Brotherhood's activities, remained curious and liked to stick his nose in the proverbial fire. But he would indulge Odin, as this relationship would benefit him as well. Looking at a clock on the wall, Erik set down his drink. "I have another appointment I must leave for," He said, not quite apologetically.

::Odin managed to contain his sigh of relief. He nodded, acknowledging the comment for its face value.:: "Have a good night."

"You too, Odin," Erik said, winking at him. "I hope to see you sometime soon, and not just in a human cafe," He teased, standing.
