When she was around Odin she usually took it for granted that he was going to be reading her powers or doing something of that sort; she was almost tempted to ask if he'd known about her new found ability to shift into...whatever that place had been that she'd gone into in the Danger Room. Most of the time, she didn't mind that he could read anything about her powers-after all, she was pulling the lie detector thing and tracking his heartbeat constantly. The pause he did told her what he was doing more then his expression did. "Everything check out?" she asked, eyebrow raised, purposefully not replying to his comment. She wasn't sure she wanted to talk about it.

"Yes," ::Odin replied, before taking another sip of his cocktail. She had dodged his comment, which meant that, yes, he was correct on that front as well. Not that he expected otherwise.::

"Good to know," she replied, then changed subjects. "I thought Hellfire was your usual haunt."

::Odin set the glass down on the table, his fingers lightly moved over the stem.:: "It is, but I took a break. We have such a culture in this city."

That made her smile a bit. "Yeah, although sometimes I wouldn't call what you find here 'culture'." Sandra had let in a couple of music writers before that were...less then stellar. They never submitted their stuff again, but still.

::Odin managed a smirk at that.:: "I'm not enough of a hipster to judge the arts."

"Leave that to us university hippies," she said, chuckling, partly because a "hippie" would be the last thing someone would describe her as.

"I will," ::Odin said, his fingers continued to trace the stem of his glass. He was studying her; he always did with his company.:: "I'll go out on a limb and say 'kiss and make up.'"

She blinked; Pietro's fast subject changes she was used to, Odin not so much. "And...what brings you to that incredibly insightful piece of advice?" she said, making the comment sound lighter then she was actually feeling.

"As I said, relationships are difficult," ::Odin replied. It was one of the reasons he preferred remaining single. One of the reasons...:: "The last time we had a conversation that didn't involve rescuing mutants, you seemed happy with the boyfriend. It's standard advise to preserve that."

"I guess." She sighed. "I'm still happy with the boyfriend. I'm not sure he's too happy with me."

::That certainly was not a "kiss and makeup" scenario then. Odin had met her boyfriend once, when she had come to have her powers calibrated. He appeared a man of few words and emotionally distant.:: "I suppose asking is out of the question?"

She shrugged a little, a non-committal gesture. "I...don't know. I don't want him to suffer through my presence if he doesn't want it."

::That certainly was difficult. Odin was thoughtful for another moment before venturing,:: "Miscommunication got out of hand?"

"Uh...yeah," Ty replied. "That's...as good a word as any for it. I've...got a lot to think about."
