So Much for Snow

[Rogue]

"I guess that makes sense." Rogue had too many blinders on about much but her own situation, but even the way things were now had gotten through her own personal bubble of self importance.

[Odin]

::Odin nodded in agreement. It made perfect logical sense, given their current times and what simply came from being a mutant.:: "It does. Sometimes it gets better, sometimes it doesn't. Like with most aspects of life, it varies from person to person."

[Rogue]

She snorted. "Ah've never seen the better part, much."

[Odin]

::Odin inferred a great deal from such a statement, although whether it came from something apart from her powers, or was entirely a result of them, he didn't know. He also realized something else from her comment: her accent had to be from Mississippi.:: "It can get better, depending on what and who."

[Rogue]

She doubted that, a lot. "Ah've been wandering around since I was 16, ah guess ah see myself as pretty knowledgeable about good and bad."

[Odin]

::A fellow traveler, Odin noted. No surprises there, considering the rest of their conversation.:: "We're in a bad time right now, admittedly. And I'm sure there's plenty of the 'evil men do' when you're a young woman on her own."

[Rogue]

"The powers sort of help with some of the evil," she said, taking another drink of her coffee.

[Odin]

"I'll bet," ::Odin said, although he also had difficulty believing that it was fair compensation, and also believed that there had to be a distaste if using them. If there was not, why would she take the precaution of gloves?::

[Rogue]

She looked at him sharply. "You might know what they are, but experiencing it is a bit different."

[Odin]

"I don't doubt that for a minute," ::Odin said. He rested his hands on the edge of the table, not wishing to fidget with his empty cup in such a serious conversation as this had turned.:: "I'm not here to make any presumptions about what that feels like."

[Rogue]

She relaxed a little, defensive as always. "People do that. Presume a lot."

[Odin]

"People do," ::Odin said with a nod. People did just about everything under the sun, which is why society had such a colorful spectrum.:: "People have all manner of ideas about what should happen and anything that deviates is subject to presumptions."

[Rogue]

"Ah guess I tend to expect it," she said, looking at her cup, a little insecure.

[Odin]

::Odin kept his attention on her. However, he was mindful of paying too much attention now, not wishing to make her feel like a slide under a microscope lens.:: "I'm not like most people."

[Rogue]

She chuckled. "That's sort of...arrogant?" The word sounded wrong, but that's the first one that came to mind.
