So Much for Snow

[Rogue]

Rogue followed where he pointed with a shrug and took a seat, taking another drink of coffee. It'd been awhile since she'd had good coffee-the Professor never kept the stuff she liked when she wasn't at the Mansion. "You know," she remarked, "A girl could think you were takin' her on a date." It was a joke-she knew better, if only by instinct.

[Odin]

::Odin settled in the chair across from her. The coffee was welcome, for the caffeine and the warmth; the weather outside was frigid. At her remark, a smirk touched his lips.:: "I hear that sometimes."

[Rogue]

Rogue shrugged. "Wouldn't do you much good even if you were."

[Odin]

"I could say the same for you," ::Odin replied, before taking another sip. He was no more interested than she was, and although he realized she likely referred to her powers, those were not a concern to him.::

[Rogue]

"Good to know that's out of the way," she observed. "Though it's still a little strange. This how you get stories?"

[Odin]

"Not exactly," ::Odin tended to keep his experiences to himself, not one to tell stories to others. It was, however, his way of passing time.:: "It's how I meet people."

[Rogue]

"Any people, or just mutants?" she asked, curious.

[Odin]

"Mostly mutants," ::Odin was most comfortable around other mutants, but he'd met a few baseline humans worth keeping in contact with.::

[Rogue]

"Because you know what they can do before they tell you?" Curiosity was winning out in her conversation; she got the feeling that if she asked him directly why he'd bothered to talk to her, he'd not give her a straight answer.

[Odin]

"Yes," ::Odin said with a nod. There was the added benefit that most mutants didn't hold prejudices against other mutants strictly for the X-gene. There were beliefs about power that varied from mutant to mutant, but that was somewhat rarer.::

[Rogue]

"So," she said, a little amused. "What can I do?" It wasn't a test so much as a joke.

[Odin]

::Jokes held little distinction to Odin these days, unless asked in an extremely blatant manner. This didn't cross that line. He took another sip of coffee before replying,:: "You're a mimic."

[Rogue]

That made her chuckle, though it was slightly sour. "Well, that's about the best way of puttin' it, I guess."

[Odin]

::Odin had noticed the gloves; they were impossible not to notice. Yes...this was one of those powers which were harder to deal with, and likely needed a silver lining. Undoubtedly, there had been nicknames or poor spins on it. He nodded and sipped his coffee again.:: "I put a good spin where I can."

[Rogue]

"Ah'm a little more down on it, I guess," she replied.
