So Much for Snow

[Odin]

::That had been a few years ago, but Odin nodded. He had been in another part of the country entirely at the time, but it was difficult to have not heard of it. News, of course, had been skewed due to the battle that had ensued.:: "Yes."

[Rogue]

"Ah was the one up in the torch, with Magneto's powers," she said, acting as if it was no big deal and not being very convincing.

[Odin]

::There had been kidnapping charges which accompanied that trial, Odin remembered. She had been the victim, which unsettled him due to what he had once thought of Magneto; he did not like the idea of they as a minority group turned against one another, and *that* type of behavior did not help. And given her abilities, he could only imagine how difficult it had been for her, to have those powers and memories thrust upon her unwillingly. He knew only rumors about Magneto's past, but given that Odin had a relatively normal life until a couple of years ago and he would not wish *his* memories on anyone else, that had to have been several shades worse. Certainly enough to make a person shy away from her powers.:: "You're more than that."

[Rogue]

That hadn't been the reaction she'd expected. "More then what?"

[Odin]

"Anything you might feel as a result of it," ::Odin was not a particularly emotional man, and he had only the necessary people skills to survive in the world of his vocations, which made his take on needs and wants peculiar at best. However, he had been the victim of a traumatic experience, and had seen his powers or powers akin to his, used for purposes that would have been almost enough to make him renounce his own. It had been enough to make him stop disclosing them.:: "I can't say I know you, or know what you've been through, what it felt like, what it feels like now. Empty words, all of it if I said otherwise. I can't say for certain what you're thinking or feeling right now, either. But I can tell you that you're more than an echo."

[Rogue]

She shook her head a little. "Ah know. At least, ah think so. It's...more about connecting with people. Ah can't do that very well."

[Odin]

::Odin was hardly the best person to offer advise on that front.:: "They tell me it gets easier to do with age. I won't tell you that since I can't promise it either way."

[Rogue]

She smiled a little. "Good to know you're not a precog."

[Odin]

::They reached the cross walk and Odin stopped as the light was red.:: "I'm not."

[Rogue]

"Like ah said." She stopped at the light, waiting until it turned again- they weren't far from the Mansion now.

[Odin]

::Once the light changed, Odin began to walk with her again.:: "I can tell you there are a few around here, but you'll need to find them on your own."

[Rogue]

She laughed a little again. "Not really. It's complicated enough having three sets of memories. Ah don't need my future."

[Odin]

"It takes some of the mystery out of it, I suppose," ::Odin conceded. He usually didn't ask questions of precognitives, out of respect for their abilities rather than any sense of mysticism, however. Then again, he did not have other people's memories.::

[Rogue]

"Ah'm just not comfortable with knowing," she replied.

[Odin]

"There's that aspect as well," ::Odin agreed, although it had never applied to him. He wanted to *know* all that he could. They had nearly reached the gates.::
