Her brow furrowed; she'd been thinking his comments through. "If you said you can sense my genes, wouldn't that mean you can tell what they do?" It made sense, if he were a living gene reader.

::Odin picked up his rum and took a long drink, before setting it down. He was...out of this business, had been out of it for over a year, and wanted to have as much freedom in responding as possible. Thankfully, he had alcohol and her imprecise phrasing to his favor; if it kept up, he might make a fool of himself, but would also maintain his autonomy.:: "Not necessarily. I said I can tell the difference between a dormant gene and a carrier, which isn't the same as reading everything in full."

She shrugged. "Just asking." But it also wasn't just that. She wanted to know what she could do.

::Odin knew, although for once he did not say as much. He took another sip of his rum, contemplating if he should give her his card.::

Lorna finished off the virgin cocktail she'd ordered. Kitty was long gone, and Lorna figured that she should probably go as well. "I should get going."

::Odin made his decision, and he reached into his breast pocket, removed his business card case. He flicked it open with his thumb, and took one card, which he held out to her between two fingers.
Odin X-Factor Publishing P.O. Box 411 New York, New York, 10049 312-368-4527 Have Talent, Will Travel:: "I know how this might look, but if you'd like to talk some time about science or genetics..."

Her brow furrowed in confusion but she still took the card, and the confusion grew deeper when she read it. "You're a publisher?" For some odd reason, she found that she'd never realized mutants held regular jobs, just like other people.

"I'm in marketing, but yes," ::Odin replied with a nod. He tried to remain mysterious until work called for him to be otherwise, but these were his only business cards since he had stopped his research.::

She scrutinized the card again. "For...X-Factor?"

She laughed a little. "I guess I sort of thought that already."

She got up, leaving money on the bar to pay for her drinks, and began to put on her coat. "Thank you," she said, politely.

"You're welcome," ::Odin replied. He was not to leave anytime soon.:: "I don't know how you and your friend came in, but the safest and cheapest way is to take a cab to Grand Central and take the Metro North from there. Lights everywhere, safety in numbers."

"Thanks." She'd take his advice, if only because taking the Metro was cheaper then a 45 minute taxi ride all the way back to the Mansion.
