"We shall certainly see, won't we?" Erik said, shrugging slightly. "Do you mind if I join you?" He indicated the empty seat across from Odin.

::This had already begun, and so Odin saved his articles and gestured at the empty chair.:: "Go ahead."

Erik picked up his half-drunk cup of coffee and moved to the empty chair across from the other man. "Thank you," He said. It was enjoyable, having a conversation with a fresh mutant face.

::Articles saved, Odin closed the laptop screen; it would preserve his battery power and given him better vision.:: "I take it you have no confidence in Bridge's ability to keep Petrie at bay."

"Of course not," Erik said, giving his head a small shake, as though to rid himself of the possibility of such a thing. "Petrie will not be kept at bay, and everyone will snap out of their pleasant dream and realize mutants have a reason to worry."

::Odin had his own paranoia related to the government's potential policies, but for the moment chose to play devil's advocate, for the sake of learning what the other man might have planned. Or what went through his head.:: "There's only so much Petrie can do; Bridge is an obstacle."

Erik shrugged. "Men like Petrie can get rid of obstacles like that." He had seen what men stubborn like Petrie could do.

"Bridge is ex-military," ::Odin pointed out. Assassination would not be easy, and for that Odin was grateful. If only one man could stand between Petrie and the office, let it be a trained man difficult to kill.::

Erik nodded. "Perhaps he can hold his own for a while or longer. We shall see, won't we?" He did not hold much confidence in military men, however.

"I suppose we will," ::Odin agreed with a nod. He wished to be wrong in his sense of foreboding.::

"Bridge also supports the use of the Cure in military weapons," Erik stated almost casually, leaning back in his seat. "What do you think of that?"

::Odin had not wanted to have a socio-political discussion with Magneto of all people, in a coffee shop when he was on a deadline. Too easily, he would find himself over his head, but Odin could not stave off his compulsion for honesty.:: "I think the Cure shouldn't be turned on anyone, particularly as a weapon. There are ways to fight without crippling the victims."

Erik nodded, pleased with that answer. He fought off the compulsion to scratch his collarbone, the area where he had been stabbed with four of those blasted needles. "Does it surprise you that the government favors them in military weapons, however?"

::The government had brought with it previously a number of policies Odin found odious: Project Wideawake, for instance, and other discriminatory policies in the beginning, but they had slowly been overturned. Cure injections were a horror, but they were not surprising.:: "No, it doesn't surprise me."

Erik nodded; Odin was smart to keep an ear open for news, but anyone could see which way the wind was blowing. The government was beginning to show it's dislike for mutants, and the Registration Act or one just like it was sure to crop up sooner or later.
