Shade nodded, settling back down on the rock she had been sittin on earlier. She hadn´t seen much of him for quite a while which didn´t mean much really seeing how big the mansion was and counting in that she usually spent quite some time away from it as well. Her thoughts briefly drifted to Gambit. She told herself that worrying was nonsense and she managed to shut worry away mostly, but that didn´t remedy the fact that she was starting to really miss him now. Whatever he was doing right now, she hoped he was fine and would return somewhen soon. "You been to Washington?" she asked, wondering whether his words about back to routine referred to the battle that had been going on there.

"No," sounded Logan with a note of bitterness in his tone. "I came back after I saw all that kicking off on the news." It was still a sore spot with him, that he hadn't been called in for the battle.

She turned her head to give him a look. He sounded bitter, a bit insulted even, just as if he had wanted to be there but not had the oportunity to do so. "It happened kinda quickly." she said, more recalling the events than fininding an explanation.

"Yeah," was all Logan said, continuing to look away from her. Whilst Charles had explained it all to him, Logan still wished he had been there. He was a good fighter, Charles knew that, the X-Men knew that, and he could've been a big help at taking down some Sentinels.

"I wasn´t there." Shade said, picking one of the winter cold blades of grass, twirling it between her fingers. "I wouldn´t have been much use there." That and Gambit would not have wanted her to go. There had been no chance, when they had learned what was going on the battle had already started and after what had happened with the Sentinel in Manhattan, Shade had not once thought about insinsting to go. Not because she was a coward, but because she knew Gambit would have kept her, and because she knew had she run off on her own, he would have followed her to keep her safe and that would have meant him getting into the line of fire as well. It had been out of question for her.
