His lips formed a thin line as he kept his anger in check. "I see," he said coldly. He had nothing more to say to her, a traitor, just like every one of them inside this building. "I wish you luck, then. Play teacher, instruct young minds while you wait for the homo sapiens to come with their guns and their Cure, ready to take us all. Farewell, Shade," he said, his voice the definition if ice. He turned to leave. If she wanted to sit here and wait for another Holocaust to fall upon her head, so be it.

He turned his back on her and the way he spoke, the way he chose his words - ´play teacher´ - told Shade very clearly that Magneto was speaking down on her. He had never done that when she had still been in the Brotherhood, had always been perfectly calm and gentle and charming. His behaviour right now let him appear just like the two faced person Mystique had described him to be. His words angered her, since she didn´t approve of being treated like this, spoken to like a stupid and naive child, even though she could understand where his bitterness was originally rooted. "Perfect charmer as long as you don´t speak against him." she muttered. "I thought better of you." She turned back towards the lake, shooting him a glare.

Logan had only just come into view when he saw the familiar figure of Magneto striding off in the opposite direction. He immediately became tense, face sharply showing his anger. Seeing Shade not too far away, Logan made his way over, eyes still on the distance where Magneto had strode off to. "So he's still here," he growled without even a greeting.

Shade had turned her face back to the lake when Magneto had walked off without another comment, noticing only now that she was shaking slightly. The barely held back anger she had been fighting these last few minutes were not enough of an explanation for it. In some way, there was a huge load dropping off her shoulders right now which she hardly recognised it as what it was. Ever since she had decided on leaving the Brotherhood, she had wanted to get things straight about it, to talk to him and get things over with. During the first months, she had been nearly scared of this conversation but there had been nothing of that fear left recently. Still, as he walked away, she felt tenseness leave her that was more a remnant of earlier months than a result of non-existant fear in the situation that had just passed. She stuffed her hands into the pockets of her winter jacket and closed her eyes for a moment, fighting down the shiver, forcing herself to take a few deep breaths. It´s over, she thought. Thanks God I finally got that out of my system.
She didn´t hear Logan approach and therefore turned her head abruptly when he addressed her, a last bit of her anger still obvious in her eyes, but her gaze softening instantly when she made out who had spoken to her. Logan did not deserve her anger. "More like here again." she said, tossing a last glance at the tall figure of Magneto walking away in the distance.

Logan made a low snarl of displeasure, that held no comprehensive wording. "Charles would be better off kicking him out for good. He helps no one by staying here," said Logan in a disgruntled manner. He was never understand why the man who had tried to kill them all so many times could be forgiven time and time again and allowed to live alongside innocent students.

Shade gave a short and unhumorous chuckle. "He comes and goes as he pleases anyways." she said. "I guess Xavier believes that he´ll stop acting like an idiot one day." She shoved her hands deeper into her pockets. And she had fallen for that idiot when she had forst come here, great job Shade.

"He's too damn trusting," Logan muttered quietly as he shot a dark look at the mansion. Whilst he respected the Professor, and was grateful that he put trust in himself, he didn't always agree with him.

"Maybe he just prefers to keep him where he can see him." Shade muttered, her arms pressed against her body to protect herself from the cold. "I could do without him now, but he won´t make me scared." No. Not ever again would she make herself dependend of his goodwill as she once had. Magneto had been right earlier. She had wished to be in Rogue´s shoes, she had been jealous. Now she could just snort at that part of her old self, the naive, rely grown up girl looking up to the charismatic guy who could charm the birds off the trees if he wanted to.

"So, what's he doin', going around everyone and pissin' them off?" Logan wondered as he looked back towards Shade. "He ain't seen me yet. He'd better stay well away too." Logan had no desire for a showdown with Magneto.

"Guess in this case it´s rather been me pissing him off." Shade said with a crooked smirk that again was withough much humour. "even though the feeling got kinda mutual."

Logan made a noise of discontent. "Whatever. He's still to blame," decided Logan bluntly.

For the first time, her smile became a real one. Slowly, step by step, the relief of having finally finished that matter broke through and for a moment she was on the verge of laughing out loud. She was unable to hold it back completely and chuckled, but it was no sarcasm or irony, just one of her usual, cheerful chuckles she would only give when she was fine with how things were. "Oh, definitely." she agreed, knowing that her laughing might seem totally weird to Logan right now, coming seemingly from nowhere.

Logan was surprised to hear her chuckle, and glanced towards her with a slightly raised eyebrow. However, he made no comment. In fact, he didn't speak at all, and turned his head to look out over the lake slowly and scan the environment around them.

Shade noticed his raised eyebrow but didn´t say anything on that, for a moment just being deeply content with having closed the episode of her life that had been entitled with "Brotherhood". She took a few breaths, her nose directed towards the cool winter breeze, before looking at Logan again. "So what have you been up to these days?" she asked. "apart from being annoyed with old metalhead?"

"Not much," Logan muttered in response. "Just getting back in routine of being at Xavier's again." Routine at Xavier's was sometimes boring when without action, but he definitely would prefer to be without people trying to kill them all.. most of the time.
