Helping Eden up the stairs she opened the mansion doors. "Professor!" She yelled before trying to reach him telepathically which she had never done before. "Professor Help!" She yelled again. Laura set Eden down on the couch that was near by. "You're going to be okay" Laura started to pace not knowing what else to do to help her. "Professor! Someone!" She yelled again.

::The Professor had been in his office when he heard through his open door his name called, followed by a clumsy attempt at telepathic communication from Laura. He wheeled out of the office towards the foyer.:: "Laura, what happened?"

Laura stopped pacing and looked at Eden. "Some officer tried to kill her" She told him. Her tone was full of worry and anger. "I got her here as fast as I could"

::The Professor's brow creased in concern as he took in Eden's form. He reached out to check the young woman's body for injuries.:: "Was she shot?"

"Yeah, in the shoulder. I tried to stop the bleeding but..." She trailed off. Laura started pacing again.

"Help me bring her to the medical laboratory," ::The Professor instructed her. He could treat a shoulder wound easily, but she would need to have a place to remain still and sterile.::

"Alright" Laura stopped pacing and went over to Eden putting her good arm around Laura's neck and helped her up so they could head down there. "Lead the way" She said following the Professor.

::The Professor wheeled towards the elevator which would take them to the medical laboratory. When the elevator arrived, he held the doors open so that Laura could carry the other young woman inside.::

Laura walked with the woman helping her into the elevator. "If I got there a minute early..." She kept mumbling to herself. Sighing when she got settled into the elevator she looked at the woman. Laura kept thinking about all the things she could have done and thinking about what could have happened if she hadn't shown up.

::Once they were in the elevator, the Professor used his access code so they could begin the descent into the basement.:: "Laura, do not think about 'If only' scenarios. What is important is that you were there at all, and are helping her now."

"True...though I think it had more to do with an innocent bleeding" She said turning her head to look at the Professor. If Eden wasn't injured Laura didn't know if she would have been able to control herself.

"Which is compassion," ::The Professor replied, explaining to her that either way, she should be proud of her assistance. The elevator reached the basement, and the doors opened.::

Compassion? Was she capable of that? Were animals capable of compassion? She looked at the doors as they swung up and carried Eden through the doors. Laura remained silent as she sorted things out in her head. The idea of compassion was so alien to her since anyone who ever showed it to her ended up dead.
