::The Professor did not need his telepathic abilities to sense the tense atmosphere between the two. He looked sternly from Logan to Laura, his eyes remaining on the young woman.:: "I would like to speak to Logan alone, Laura."

Logan flexed his fingers tensely, claws itching to be unsheathed, but he held back on his impulses. Hearing the Professor's words, he looked towards him sharply, but still refrained from speaking.

Laura kept her eyes on Logan as she heard the Professor talk again. "Whatever" She said taking her eyes away from Logan. She walked away from them. Her tone was the same as it had been, full of built up hatred for the person she believed was responsible for what happened. Laura went and stood against a tree that was a few hundred yards away facing away from them.

::The Professor waited until Laura was a fair distance away; her senses were as keen as Logan's, and he did not want to drag this futher into the realm of unpleasantness.:: "She is angry, Logan, but do not let that undermine your knowledge of yourself as a person."

"Angry?" he muttered fiercely. "Who the hell is she?! Did you know she was here because she wanted me dead?" Logan flexed his muscles stiffly as he tried to ease the tension out of his posture. "Figured you could read woud-be attackers entering the mansion, especially after the sh*t with Wideawake."

::Xavier did not react to the other man's anger; it was understandable, and he would not fan the flames.:: "She came offering assistance in the battle, and from her background, I felt that we could help her move beyond her past, and find a purpose in the world. Her anger at her own past will fade with time, and you are not in danger."

"Not exactly my life that's in danger," he growled in threat, looking towards the distance where Laura stood, and he clenched his fists again. "Tell her to stay the hell away from me."

"I will make it clear that there is to be no fighting," ::Xavier replied, intending to speak with Laura after this about the conditions of her stay at the Institute.:: "However, you of all people know how painful it is to cope with memories, or the loss of them. When she calms down throughout her stay and needs to talk to someone, I ask that you keep that in mind."

Logan shot the Professor a dark glower. "I have no business with someone who categorises me as an ally of Stryker."

::The Professor met the other man's eyes steadily, his look patient, as opposed to the warning in Logan's expression.:: "She is angry and confused. Through exposure, she will see that you are anything but his ally."

"Somehow, I don't think we're gonna be best buddies," Logan replied grouchily.

"I wouldn't ask that of you," ::The Professor replied, his tone patient. He would contentedly settle for no fighting, and for Laura to come to accept herself. Between her and Logan, there was information on his past, which could only benefit them both.::

"Right," he muttered quietly, darting another look across the grounds. "Lecture over?" he wondered with idle sarcasm.

"Yes, it is," ::The Professor replied. He would speak to Laura about this next, while Logan curbed his temper over the matter.::

"Right," Logan repeated, taking that as his cue to leave. He stalked over the lawns and back up the patio, skulking back indoors to brood and snarl at any students who did so much as look at him.
