(Set after WA)
Scott needed to stop feeling sorry for himself. He knew this. But he wasn't ready to go to the Professor just yet.
He knew Wanda hadn't been feeling well. He wanted to cheer her up, and get her mind off of things. But he wasn't sure he was up to it. Instead, he wrote her a note and left it taped to the Twins room.
"If you want some company besides Speedy Gonzalez, I'll be on the bench facing the lake. - Scott."
So that was where he sat, waiting to see if Wanda showed up.

Wanda had found the note, and had wondered if this was just another attempt to lift her spirits. Then she remembered that Scott had been cured as well. Slightly curious, she clutched the note to her and made her way to the lake. There, sure enough, was Scott. Elbows on his knees, staring blankly at the lake, and without his glasses.

Normally Scott would notice the movement, even that far off to his side. It was hard to sneak up on Scott. Normally. But lacking his power, Wanda got close before he notice. Then he almost jumped. "nuts!" He exclaimed. Then he realized it was Wanda.
"Sorry." He glanced down, something else to get use to he guessed. "How are you doing?"

"It's okay," she said quietly, not flinching when he visibly jumped when noticing her presence. "I've been ill," she said, moving to sit down on the bench beside him.

Scott looked at her, concern in his eyes. "I've been a little ill as well." He admited. His stomach pratically refused to settle. He kind of felt like a preganant woman, he'd eat only to throw it up. "How have you been otherwise?"

"Pretty horrible," she admitted sadly, looking at her hands in her lap. She refused to look up into Scott's eyes.

Scott noticed her avoidince. "It's okay Wanda. It'll be okay." He took her hands in his. She was as much his sister as Pietro's even if they weren't biologically related. He cared for her.

She looked at his hand in hers, and looked back up at him. She didn't remember the last time she'd made the observation that he had blue eyes. He'd told her, long ago. Gently she squeezed his hand, and leaned her head on his shoulder. "Thank you, Scott. I haven't been able to think about it yet. I'm still caught up in thinking about how horrible it is."

Scott wrapped his arm around Wanda, to both comfort and keep her warm. "Truthfully? I'm not there yet either. But it has to be. The cure isn't permanant. We know that. So we have to just...wait it out I suppose." He didn't lie, he really wasn't there yet, but he was trying to let the logical part of his brain take over.

She leaned into him as Scott wrapped his arm around her. It was still as if her brain couldn't absorb that knowledge. "It'll feel like forever," she said simply.

"I don't think so." Scott wasn't generally one for optomisim, trying to take a much more pragmatic approach to things. "It'll be like a day that starts out really boring but by the time you go to sleep, it seems like the day was to short. We just have to get use to it." He gave her a small smile. "How is Speedy taking it?" He asked.

"He's not taking it well, and I'm to blame," she admitted. "I can't be around him without feeling so empty, and he thinks it's all his fault that he let this happen to me."

"I wasn't with you, but I do know that no one could have stopped the dart that hit me. Even Pietro couldn't. I'm sure he couldn't stop the one that hit you. You aren't to blame, Wanda. Only Wideawake and the person who developed the cure are. Don't put this on yourself." Scott said what he needed to hear, just as much as she needed to hear it as well.

Her lip trembled as her eyes welled up with tears. He spoke words she knew needed to be said. Words that she had denied until now. "I've hurt him by pushing him away, Scott."

"Because you've been sick?" He asked her. He hadn't been so hot himself, all things considering. "That isn't a good reason for him to be hurt or mad. Talk to him Wanda. We need a support system now more then ever."
