She met his eyes with her own, her voice quiet. "If it's what you wanted to do."

::The thought had never occurred to Pietro, to further his education.:: "Are I not too old?"

She shook her head. "Not everyone is the same age when they go to university. Some people go much later then after they graduate, at least so I'm told."

::Pietro only knew of those few with whom he had been close when they went to University; they had been younger than he was now. It would be a large change, and he could not leave until after Wanda had recovered. He answered honestly, the only way he knew how.:: "I will need to think about it."

Her hand closed around his; a split second decision was not what she'd had in mind anyways. "The new semester doesn't start until fall. I'm already too late to start during winter. There's plenty of time."

::Pietro returned the tightened clasp of hands, taking what she said into consideration. There was time, and when this had passed, he could think more clearly.:: "There's always too much time."

That made her smile a little; with his perceptions being as they were, the comment didn't surprise her. "You'd prefer things to go at the speed you do?"

::In an ideal world, Pietro would want the outside to move as quickly as he did. By his age, he knew better, and had long since stopped hoping or wishing. It was what it was, far too slow.:: "It would be easier."

"Such as?" ::Pietro's question was one of mere curiosity. He wished to know everything he could about her feelings and values.::

"Gaining powers, talking with others," she replied. "Relationships. Nothing would have value if you're going a mile a minute."

"It is relative," ::That was all Pietro could say on the topic. If she could see as he did, experience the world so that they were on the same plane, what was fast to her would be normal. What is normal is agonizing in its slowness.::

"Maybe it is, but I suppose I'm just glad one of us doesn't have such fast perceptions," she replied. "It...creates a balance."

"I would not wish this on anyone," ::Pietro replied, beginning to stroke her hand with his thumb once more. He wished that others could see as he did, but the isolation and the frustration were an entirely different matter.:: "And it is balance."
