"I know," Ty replied, staring at his pocket intently. The two bullets lifted themselves out of his pocket into the air and hovered, Ty frowning in concentration and a renewed headache. "I just...don't like to see you this worried."

::Pietro watched as the two bullets flew from his pocket to hover in the air; telekinesis was remarkable. His eyes slid from the spectacle to her face. How to explain this, when he could not fully even to Wanda?:: "I am...not worried."

The bullets hovered a second more, then ashed. Ty sighed in frustration, and then Pietro's comment caught up to her. "Not worried?" She didn't like the sound of that at all, and her face showed it.

::Pietro's features reflected his frustration, not with her, but with his inability to communicate his thoughts and feelings properly. It was all too reminiscent of his adolescence. His eyes became momentarily distant, as he groped for what could be an explanation.::

"You mean, maybe, that you're not afraid of it?" Ty asked, attempting to help him order his thoughts when he frowned in obvious frustration.

That was not quite it, but it was the closest Pietro thought she would be able to say, and certainly closer than he could describe. Once more he resigned himself to life apart, even from those closest to him. His eyes focused on her once more, and he nodded slightly.::

"I am," Ty replied simply, meeting his eyes.

"Most are," ::Pietro replied, just as simply. He closed the small distance between them.::

"Most haven't been dead once already," Ty replied, a simple statement of fact.

"Are we expected not to fear something undesired, simply because we have lived it?" ::Pietro was rather glad for the change in topic, or rather in scope; it provided him with the ability to speak more easily. He did not hold others to his same standard when it came to fear, and he wanted her to be aware of that.::

She took his hand; hers was ice cold, not from the weather but rather from her own thoughts. "That's not what I mean." It was her turn to be frustrated by the inability to explain something. She tried a different tactic. "Were you raised religious, Pietro?"

::That was not the easiest question to answer. Pietro had been exposed to the influence of three religions in his youth, before losing his faith completely.:: "Not by American standards."

"I was in a Roman Catholic orphanage, we were always rasied with the idea of hell," Ty replied, nodding at his answer.

::Pietro nodded in comprehension; the Eastern Church had similar teachings. He believed in Hell on Earth, which made the afterlife lose its fire.:: "That troubles you?"

"In a way." Ty still groped for an explanation, and fell silent for a moment. "It's more...a common idea. A frame of reference. I can't..." Now she stopped, this time thoroughly lost.
