"Sorry," Ty replied to Twitch, her voice just as quiet. "It got crowded in the Mansion since we both got here. No alone time at all," she said ruefully.

Alexis glanced over slowly, uncertain and feeling very much singled out by her newcomer lack of knowledge about the school and its inhabitants.

Ty turned from Twich for a second; as long as the group was here she might as well say hi to everyone. A girl who was...glowing?...was sort of near, but not quite. "New here?" Ty asked amiably, knowing what it felt like to be new and shy.

Upon realising someone had directed a question at her, Alexis blinked slowly before replying quietly. "Yeah," she said, a gentle but timid smile forming.

"You can take a seat over here if you want, it's one big crowd at the moment," Ty invited, determined not to be standoffish for once in her life.

At the invitation, Alexis looked flattered and made her way over to the gathering of people. She helped herself to a vacant patch of grass and sat down, hugging her knees to her chest comfortably.

"I'm Typhoid. Most people call me Ty," she said, introducing herself quietly enough so that her words didn't carry over to the whole group. "I just met everyone else, except for Twitch." She tossed a thumb and a companionable look at Twitch beside her.

"I'm Alexis," she replied. "Or Astral," she added, seeing as the names introduced also seemed to be aliases. She wanted to start getting used to calling herself by her self-given name. It gave her a small confidence boost.

"Good to meet you," Ty replied. "What can you do? With your powers, I mean."

Alexis gestured at herself with a small laugh, and if that wasn't enough, she increased the glow that seemed to emanate from around her so it was a little more noticeable. "It's a self-produced light I can manipulate."

Ty smiled; she liked light related powers, since hers were such an exact opposite. "You mean, as in target it?"

She nodded a little. "And control it's brightness and heat. I've not really experimented fully.. I suppose that's why I'm here," she added with a smile. "What are yours?"

"Well..." Ty's powers could be complicated, and she liked not to throw them in people's faces. "I turn what's alive to ash, mostly. With my touch, or with my mind."

"Wow," was Alexis' first response. "That reminds me of someone else here I met the other day," she said, going quiet as she tried to recall the name of the girl.

Ty's eyebrow rose, the only other girl she had met around here with powers similar to hers was Jean. "Who was that?"
