::Odin assumed from that she had a low tolerance, just as he did. Usually he took precautions, but tonight was a bad one, a night where he would throw caution to the wind in light of the possible future. When the bartender came, he ordered another rum and coke and a glass of water, should he decide to want it later.::

Typhoid ordered water when the bartender came; she'd begin on soda later. "So, what will X-Factor have to say about this?"

::Odin set down his rum after the sip which drained it. He would prefer to say there was nothing in the works, and he could guarantee nothing, as Morph had stated time and again X-Factor wasn't a political magazine. However, this couldn't pass without comment; he would write the article himself if he had to, and he already had ideas.:: "Nothing happy, I assure you."

"You should be careful what you print," Ty said, raising an eyebrow.

::Odin already had a paragraph or two composed, which would be different in tone from the thoughts that consumed him. Such as his belief that it was his duty to his kind not to register and that others should follow suit; that wouldn't fit well in print, and thus wouldn't see the light of day. Other comments would.:: "Yes, but as long as criticism of government is a right held by all, I'll be sure to take advantage of it. There won't be a call for anarchy."

She snorted. "I'm not exactly a political expert, Odin, but at this point we shouldn't assume we have any rights at all."

"I'm not a political expert either, but it'll be two and a half months until the new administration takes over, and if Bridge can be taken at his word, we'll have enough rights for the message to get out," ::It wasn't an optimistic view; Odin dealt with reality and in facts. Mutants needed to be prepared, and if it was the last thing he did before going underground, so be it.::

"If Petrie doesn't talk him out of it, maybe," Typhoid said, about as optimistic as he was. Politics weren't her area of choice, but everyone who was a mutant knew about Bridge's running mate and his opinions.

"We might have egoism on our side with this one," ::Odin responded. When his drinks arrived, he reached first for the rum to take a long sip.:: "Petrie's a mutant-hating nutcase, but he's subordinate."

"Maybe, but he's had a lot of air time," Typhoid observed. "And he's gotten a lot of people's attention."

::Odin took another sip of his rum, contemplative for a moment.:: "But he can't directly force hands. And if I get my wish, he'll be indicted on a corruption scandal."

She stared at him, openly shocked. "Excuse me?"

::Odin took another sip of his rum, repeating himself calmly.:: "If I get my wish, Petrie will be indicted on a corruption scandal and forced to resign."

"I heard that," she said, genuinely annoyed with him. "Do you know something the rest of us don't, or is this just wishful thinking?"

"It's wishful thinking," ::Odin replied, the result of the compulsion for honesty and his lack of desire to play games on the subject. The entire matter was depressing; he had to seek refuge where he could.:: "If I knew of anything specific, I'd have made sure it became general knowledge before today; we had a lot riding on this race. Men like him step on people; he has to have something in his past which can come back and bite him."
