"You can't?" she asked, curious. It hadn't been a characteristic she'd noticed.

::Pietro took for granted Wanda's awareness of his metabolism. After all, he had done precious little drinking with Rossignol, so there was no reason for her to know.:: "My liver metabolizes it before it can build up."

A short laugh. "I wish I could do that. Alcohol and I don't mix well."

"It is infuriating in its own right," ::Pietro replied, reflecting on his first trip to the Hellfire Club. He envied others their ability to drink away memories.::

"Perhaps. I'd rather just enjoy the drink and not have to stagger home later, though," she said, her eyes sliding shut slightly. Her abilities were stretching their wings, even as she restrained them, and most of the energy faded away from around them as awareness of life around her dominated her senses. She felt Pietro, of course, and the others at the Mansion, all the way down to the tiniest forms of life there. Her awareness tilted, and focused in on someone, without her trying to dictate it. "Magneto is around," she said, absently.

::Pietro's back stiffened and he sat straighter, becoming more alert at the mere mention of the man's name. This was the reason he could never truly rest.:: "He always is."

She'd leaned away from Pietro slightly as he straightened up, less aware of his reaction to the mention of Magneto as she was of sensing Magneto himself, though the man was in fact miles away from them. "I think I can...." She reached out with her powers, only slightly, and felt his heartbeat increase as she caused his clothing to start to disintegrate, just enough for him to notice. For a millisecond, her power licked at Magneto's skin as well, and her eyes popped open, mentally shutting down her power so fast the air seemed to rush into fill a vacuum, somehow. "....sh*t."

::Pietro's expression had hardened at Magneto's name, but his eyes shone with concern for her at her explitive.:: "What is wrong, besides his presence?"

"I...." She shut her mouth, finding words to explain. "I think I almost hurt him. I couldn't do that before, I could only affect what I could see directly, if I tried to target it like that..." she said, trying to explain. The shock she felt still showed.

::Pietro's thoughts overlapped as always, speeding through his mind in a fraction of a second. His first thought admiration for her abilities; he always admired powerful women. His second the realization of what she must have done. The third that it was a pity she had only "almost" hurt Magneto. And the fourth that he might need to intervene should Magneto decide to seek her out. He knew she needed no protection, but he spoke regardless.:: "If he tries to touch you, I will stop him."

"I don't think he will know who did it," she said, though she wasn't so sure of it. "And if he does...he would know better." Any metal he tried to harness to use against her, even that which was in her blood, would instantly be deemed a non-threat by virture of her abilities. And Magneto had seen enough of what she could do to know that facing her would hardly be a wise thing to do.

"You'd be surprised," ::Pietro replied, still tense. He knew she could fend for herself, and as she'd been here before he and Wanda returned, Magneto had most likely met her. Yet the man was mad, and madmen made unwise decisions.::

A slight chuckle. "Not particularly." She put her hand on his shoulder, lightly. "I shouldn't have done that."

::Pietro's shoulder relaxed beneath her touch, though his back remained stiff, on guard against Magneto's possible presence.:: "Used your power against him? It's a pity you didn't do more."

"He's miles away. It would have been...unprovoked." She couldn't help but agree with Pietro, in some part of her. But she would not bring herself to visit an unprovoked attack on someone, no matter the past he had with the person she loved. It was beneath them both.
