Wanda had been exhausted. The past few days, Pietro had been sleeping, resting, and regaining his strength. She had been the watchman, and it was really taking its toll on her. So she had positioned a comfortable lounge chair on the patio, and lain on it, able to rest because she knew Pietro would be nearby.
Sleeping for a few good hours, she awoke when the sun was beginning to set, hearing a loud noise nearby from the woods. Her eyes widened and she sat up, hearing it again. "Pietro?" She called, knowing he was nearby, and would come to her aid.

::Pietro had been on the other side of the patio, reading. He had nearly completed the entirety of Poe when he heard his sister's call. He dropped the book and sped to her side.:: "Wanda?"

"I heard something in the woods," she said, eyes darting between his form and the blackness of the woods. Perhaps she was just being silly, being so on edge. But one couldn't be too careful when Magneto was around.

"Wait here," ::Pietro lay a gentle hand on his sister's shoulder. He was off like a flash, checking the entire forest in seconds, before returning to her side.:: "There is nothing there, only wildlife."

She sighed with relief. Thank goodness, she wasn't prepared to deal with another encounter with their father.

"You need more sleep," ::Pietro pointed out the obvious. Her metabolism was not his, she needed more sleep than he did, and this would hurt her worse.::

She nodded, stifling a yawn. These past few days keeping watch had been taking its toll on her. "I think you're right," she admitted.

"May I take you to bed?" ::Pietro asked after she yawned. He had slept the afternoon after his collision and again the next day. He had plenty of rest.::

"Of course," she said immediately, as if there were no other option. But she shifted in her seat, patting the space next to her for him to sit down. "Watch the sunset with me, first," she asked. She wanted to stay out for just a little longer, first.

::Pietro nodded once; he could deny his sister very little. He sat beside her, leaned back in the chair, took her hand in his.::

She smiled softly at him, and gave his hand a gentle squeeze. "Do you remember when we were little, and first thought this house was haunted?" she asked. It had been a long, long time ago; she wouldn't be surprised if he'd forgotten.

::Pietro rememered vividly. They had only recently come to America, did not speak English, and had missed the Maximoffs fiercely. There had been strange noises from the basement at the oddest of hours, and it had kept them awake. Eventually they had taken stories heard in Europe to try and explain the noises; they thought there were ghosts.:: "We went exploring and were scolded."

She nodded. "What were some of the ghost stories we'd heard, back in Europe, that we projected to fit here?" She couldn't remember some of them distinctly...it had been such a long time.

::His sister was nostalgic this evening, but if they did not ruminate like they did in the kitchen, it should be fine. Pietro struggled to remember some of the legends; he had stopped believing so long ago.:: "The poltergeist, for one."

"Yes," she said happily. "All the bumping and noises late at night had us both scared to death!" She remembered how silly they had both felt after, when they found it was Uncle and Magneto working on Uncle's machine, not a poltergeist.
