"What happened, Strype?" Ty had no idea what else had occurred to cause the girl problems; she'd hoped the impersonation issue would be the end of it.

She looked down at her lap. It was still difficult for her to share things with people, and this was something rather...big. "When I lived down in Texas, I stayed with someone...who took advantage of me. He's going through a big trial, so I'm going down to testify. And the Professor doesn't want me to go alone, so he's coming. He insisted on it, actually," she admitted.

::Pietro's expression hardened and his hands curled into fists. Kyra was a child, and anyone who would dare take advantage of her was a despicable excuse for a person. He managed to keep from asking the question, "who would dare?" simply because he assumed that, atop other recent events, it would bring only pain.::

"I hope he gets what is coming to him," Ty said, her eyes momentarily cold, though she covered one of Pietro's hands with her own as she saw it curl into a fist. Someone taking advantage of another was deplorable, and she shared his hatred of it.

She nodded, shivering slightly at the memory. Of the time she'd spent there, and of the day she'd seen the news story. "But I'm glad the Professor's going with me, so I won't be alone," she said. It was nice of him to come, and she was grateful for it.

Ty nodded. "He does that, for quite a few of us. It's just...how he is, I guess." She looked at her a moment, then just took a breath. "I'm sorry about what happened on the beach, Kyra."

Her insides felt cold all of a sudden. "What was she like, the...fake me?" She wanted to know more about it. Mystique had talked to her, but she was still...confused about it.

"I..." Ty gestured helplessly. "You...are different from her. You don't act like her, talk like her."

::Pietro let one hand uncurl to take hold of Typhoid's. The conversation was infuriating, that Kyra again and again had been used. By the shape-shifter, by that man in Texas. It disgusted him. And although he had spoken with the shape-shifter, it had done nothing to calm him.::

She felt helpless. Especially because it was about something that had happened months upon months ago. She felt betrayed by Mystique, but at the same time, she still felt connected to her, almost as if she owed her something. "I mean, she explained it to me, but I...I just don't really understand," she confessed. She didn't know what it had been like, working for Magneto, and trying to spy on the Professor and the others. And she felt horrible that this had been done in her skin. Inside a copy of her.

"She created a past, a life for you, one that she believed was real, when she shifted to look like you," Ty tried to explain, knowing she wasn't doing a very good job of it. "She didn't know she WASN'T you, not when she shifted." It was difficult to try to get across to someone.

She nodded. "And while I can't stop thinking about what she did, I keep remembering the time when I lived with her. Other than here, she's the only one who fed me and gave me a place to stay, without something else in mind. She was so nice to me, and I stayed with her for weeks." She didn't know what to think anymore, that she realized.

::Whoever said that Pietro Maximoff had no patience, and there had been many over the years, had no conception of how how he lived his life. This conversation was maddening, and not simply for its speed or lack thereof; he had long since come to terms with how, if he wanted to have a conversation, it would be slow. The subject of their conversation was infuriating; there was a clear line of right and wrong and the shape-shifter had crossed it. Stealing the identity of this cub...it was unforgivable. All of the meals in the world would not reverse that simple fact. It would be far too easy to make a comment to that effect, but it would do nobody any good, and so he held his tongue.::

"That doesn't excuse it, Kyra, but..." Ty shook her head, her sense of justice warring with her sense of friendship. "I think if she'd intended to do you harm, she'd never have told you what she'd done."

She nodded, and hugged her legs to her tightly with her arms. "I know, but, I just can't stop feeling so...lost."
