((Set a week after: "Attack on New Humanity"))
Paige had been healing over the past week from the brutal attack she had gotten from Astral, but was now doing a lot better. She barely remembered the attack to be honest, and she just hoped it wasn't as bad as people had said it was.
Now laying in the grass on the grounds, she had her eyes closed as she took a small nap. Though she was still aware of her surroundings, she was in a relaxed state. She had just finished reading a few chapters on a mutation book, yes she was clearly obsessed, but she didn't care. She liked reading more about mutation, it was a very interesting topic to her, and wished it was to more people. Sighing quietly to herself, she was glad today was such a nice day out. It was warm, but not overly warm, and not to mention sunny. The past week it had been cloudy and rainy almost every day.

It felt odd to be back in the states, after having been gone for so long, but at the same time, comforting. Though the time he had previously spent at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngers, had been short, the place still had a welcoming vibe about it, and Warren found it was hard to stay there, and not feel as if it was a second home, of sorts. His parents had insisted that their only son stay with them in the city, during his return home, but Warren had had other plans.
His father had briefly mentioned that the Brotherhood's name had popped up in the news again, and Warren wanted to be helpful this time; wanted to help the X-Men, and even Xavier's out. Though he wouldn't exactly have to live at the school, due to the fact that he could always fly quickly to get there, he didn't want to return home. With his college degree in business, Warren doubted he would be certified to teach or anything, but he still wanted to offer something to Xavier.
Once the cab driver had been paid, and the yellow car drove off, Warren let out a sigh of relief. Not seeing anyone directly around, he quickly removed the large, oversized jacket he had been wearing, before then taking off a tee shirt as well. That then revealed a complicated looking, leather restraining device that was holding his wings even closer to his body. Though it wasn't exactly painful, it wasn't the most comfortable thing to wear either, and the flight from England, back to New York had been a long one.
Quickly undoing the straps, Warren held his bag in one hand, and his crumpled up restraining device, along with his tee shirt and coat in the other. Spreading his long, white wings out, they flapped once, then twice, before Warren took off, into the sky. He kept low, and didn't bother going even near the clouds. All he wanted to do was stretch out a bit, feel the wind in his face, before landing again. So, Warren merely flew around towards the back grounds of the mansion, doing various loops and circles in the sky.

Paige thought she had heard a car, but paid no attention to it. As it was not an uncommon thing, for cars to come around. Sighing, she shifted a little in her place on the ground, trying to ignore the sound of the door of a car closing and then driving off? Someone must be coming here, but who? She decided whether or not she really wanted to open her eyes after almost falling asleep, she hadn't gotten much good sleep, most of her nights she had been a bit restless.
However, at the sound of that familiar flapping of wings, her eyes shot opened after the first person came to mind. Jay was back? Looking up at the sky, she winced a bit as her eyes adjusted and soon saw someone who was definitely not Jay. He was gorgeous though, he almost looked like an angel. The thought amused her slightly and she moved into a sitting position, eyes locked on the unnamed angel who was flying around.

It felt so nice to feel the wind rustling through his feathers, and to give his wings a nice stretch. However, he didn't want to spend all the day flying around in the sky, so after one more lap around the mansion, Warren landed softly on his feet, a few yards away from the unnoticed Husk, who was laying on the ground. His back was too her, as his bag then dropped gently to the grass with a light 'thud'. Tossing the restraining device, and the jacket down as well, Warren then tugged his tee shirt back over his head. Like the majority of his shirts that actually fit him, slits had specifically been created, to allow his wings to be put through them.

Paige's eyes had never left him, even after he landed on his feet with such grace she was almost in awe. Paige couldn't believe the way she was reacting to him, she didn't even know him! Still, when he started to put his tee shirt back on, she almost cried out to tell him not to. It was besides the fact that he had a nice body, his wings were gorgeous. He almost looked familiar, she knew she had seen him from somewhere, but she couldn't put her finger on it.

Feeling as if someone was watching him, Warren quickly turned around. He was surprised to see a blonde young woman seated in the grass, and sure enough, her eyes were on him. Clearing his throat, his cheeks flushed ever so slightly. Warren was used to people staring, but at the same time, thought that might of changed, if he was around other mutants. "Hi." He then uncertainly called out to the blonde, the smallest of smiles on his face.

Paige quickly adverted her gaze, once she realized he was looking at her. Cheeks turning a bright red, she felt embarrassed, mostly because of the thoughts running through her head at that moment. When he spoke up, she dared to look up at him. "Hey, sorry I...I didn't mean to stare, your wings are just so amazing." Paige admitted, her southern accent rather present, but still not at it's fullest.

"Its fine." Warren quickly replied, at least for the situation to not grow even more embarrassing. Glancing over his shoulders, towards the still spread out wings, he then moved to pull them in, closer towards his body, in a slightly self conscious manner. Smiling still somewhat awkwardly, Warren raised a hand to the base of his neck. "Are you a student here?" He asked then, in a polite tone.

Paige almost frowned when she noticed that he seemed to be self-conscious about his wings. Hopefully he would get over that soon enough though. Realizing she was still sitting on the grass, she quickly got up and dusted herself off. At his question, she looked up at him. "Yeah, well sort of. I'm not taking classes...just expanding on my powers." She explained. "I'm Paige by the way." She told him, not sure if he would appreciate her moving forward to shake his hand or not. She felt like she was acting like a complete idiot around him right now, and her cheeks went a bit red at the thought.

"I'm Warren." He then responded, before moving to briefly shake Paige's hands. Though he loved his wings, and the powers they bought him, Warren doubted he would really ever get used to people staring at his wings. Most of the time, he was so used to their presence, he often forgot they were even there. They were just a part of him, like another set of arms.

Shaking his hand back, it was then she realized where she knew him from. Becoming excited that she was meeting a Worthington, she tried not to let it show. She was pretty sure he had gotten a lot of people who were all over him, pestering him about his father and such. So instead, she decided to play the naive card. "Nice to meetcha, Warren." She told him, Southern accent becoming more present.

Taking note of her accent, Warren tried to place it. It was most certainly southern, but Warren didn't know all that much about the south, and whether the accents were different, depending on the state. "Nice to meet you too." He politely responded, as their hands dropped. "You're a far way from home, aren't you?"

Running her fingers through her hair, she shifted on her feet a little before looking back up at him. "Uh, a little yeah." Paige said, worried that he might think less of her because she was from the south. "I'm from Kentucky." She added quietly.

Nodding slowly, Warren knew absolutely nothing about Kentucky, apart from the fact that the Kentucky Derby took place there. "I've never been there before." He then added, after a moment or two of slightly awkward silence. "My parents went to the Kentucky Derby once, though."

"Oh, well there's not much to see." Paige said with an awkward laugh. "So, where are you from, Warren?" She asked curiously, hands now in the back pockets of her jean shorts.
