(This thread is only open to members of the Brotherhood and X-Men teams, along with what ever New Humanity people are involved, and the NPC accounts.)
(This takes place a few days following "The calm before the storm.")
The time was slowly inching forward closer to being four o'clock. Some how, the entire Brotherhood team, apart from Sydney and Maya, who John assumed were still in the modern looking building that was across the street, had been able to group together at the appointed meeting place. To any passing by eyes, they simply looked like a group of young adult tourists, who were either lost, or were meeting up, before heading onto the next sight, that was ready to be seen. No one knew of their plan, and for once, John was glad.
He knew knew they might have a bit more to wait, once the information that Maya and Sydney had gained throughout the day, was released. He had doubts that they had gotten anything more than the basics, but at the same time, hoped they had some sort of dirt on the people, or anything that could give them an upper hand.
Glancing again at the watch on his wrist, he frowned, his back to the building and the bustling Manhattan street behind him. Butterflies were kicking in his stomach, as mentally, he went over the plan in his mind. They would get in. Any people remaining in the offices, Siryn would either knock out with her scream, or they would lock in some sort of closet. Then, they would proceed to trash anything of value. Posters, computers, fliers, anything they could get their hands on. John wanted the place out of business for a while; he wanted it to be completely and utterly trashed.
Security cameras could be taken by a blink of his eye, and a flick of the wrist, lighter holder, that was hidden beneath the sleeve of his shirt, or even Siryn and Astral could help in that sense. Maya, though thought to be useless, would come greatly in handy, if anyone on the enemy side got out of hand, or they needed some sort of threat. Lance's powers would be handy, and as for Sydney, John figured she might be able to get information, and if not, at least it was one more person on their side, and one more person that was making their numbers larger.
Taking a breath, his gaze dropped to the filthy sidewalk of the city. This was their time. They were prepared and educated. They were going to win this, and they were going to succeed. Nothing was going to get in their way, this time.

Astral had arrived in Manhattan with John. She couldn't deny that she was worried about this, it seemed like they would be walking straight into trouble. At least the rally had started off alright. She stayed close to John as they waited, nerves almost making her sick to her stomach. She did understand why they were doing this though. These people were making them look bad, they were trying to get them arrested, when she didn't even think they deserved it. If there was anything worse than humans against mutants, it was mutants against mutants. In order to try and make herself less distinguishable, Astral was keeping her glow off for the time being. She had dressed casually, like John had advised, with comfortable shoes and her hair tied back so it wouldn't get in her way.

Siryn stood, twisting the hem of her jacket in her hands. Her eyes were fixed on the building across the way, I hope the girls are alright... She tapped her foot against the building she was leaning on, fidgeting was a nervous habit of hers.

((OOC: I will be in and out today, and will be more available in the afternoon Eastern Time. Common sense, everybody; post around me as much as you want or need, do things that are newsworthy, destructive, fun in a vengeful way, but nothing warranting a SWAT Team's immediate dispatch.))
::The New Humanity had spread in influence over the past several years, and possessed a number of recruitment centers along the east coast. One of their most frequented was the one in Manhattan, due to the large population of both humans and mutants. It was a fairly inconspicious building, apart from the sign above the address line announcing affiliation with the New Humanity; they had nothing to hide.
Many of the Members who were dispatched to work at recruitment centers were human; many, but not all. Almost no Members were aware of the affiliation with the Indigo Children, and were innocents when it came to any matters of violence; that was why Herald affiliated with Asp secretly, to handle the more unseemly tasks which he viewed necessary. It was also why he kept all of his notes by hand on such matters, and the Intranet services provided by the organization were clean of any affiliation files, or of his personal records on the progress of each Member.
What the Members did know, and was made plain in books and sermons, was that mutants were God's next step, and that some mutants and humans could not accept this, which led to violence. There was no particular love for the Brotherhood in the New Humanity.
As it was late afternoon, business for the day was beginning to wind down. Four Members were there at the moment, two of them humans and two mutants. One of the mutants' natural defense mechanism was to turn attacks on the attacker, and the other was able to fly. There were precious few security cameras established in the building, as there was little concern of unseemly behavior. The front doors were closed, but unlocked, and any person who entered, unless recognized from the news, would be considered a friend and a potential convert.::

Looking around at the group, John let out an impatient sigh. Again he glanced down at his watch, before looking around at his team. It was now a little after four, and John was feeling restless. He just wanted to get in there, and get everything started with. The more waiting around, the more antsy everyone would be feeling, which could cause panic. Looking over at Astral, he offered her a small, strained smile, before again John turned to look at the building. "At least its not some giant skyscraper that we have to ride an elevator up to the 23rd floor, or something." John then mumbled.

Astral followed John's gaze to the building, smiling a little at his words. "Or 23rd floors with just a staircase," she joked, feeling a little better trying to make humour out of the situation.

Lance was looking at the building, considering its potential strength and what not. He had never heard about this particular place before, which was no big surprise as his involvement with the affairs of the New Humanity had never been too extensive. It did feel weird, in a way, to come fighting against a group whose values (or rather, the tiny bits of details about whose values) he had been ready to support months back; but then again, his own position was rather... flexible in this respect.
His hands were itching for some action, so he was just imagining his part of the event, thinking of better ways to do more damage and less trouble, since trouble wasn't their aim.

Maya and Sydney had partnered up to do their job. Having been inside the building, posing as recruits to get their information. Maya had tried spotting the security cameras and found a few. That was about it though. There was nothing she could get her hands on that would tell her about the members of the New Humanity or anything else that would be of importance to them besides what was in the blasted book and it pissed her off. Though, she acted interested and highly excited at the thought of joining such an organization.
After the business seemed to have slowed down for the day, she exited the building, hoping that Sydney would follow soon after. She held a book close to her chest and kept up her joyful façade as she crossed the street to the others, inconspicuously.

Sydney too had acted as best she could, though at times they seemed a bit suspicious of her, she struggled to keep up with this fake excitement of her own. When in reality, she wanted to punch the day lights outta them, if she could fight anyway. Sydney did her best to remember as much information as she could, as well as where any cameras and such were.
Sydney was quick to exit behind Maya, finally letting out a breath she hadn't realized she had been holding in. Seeing the others who were scattered about, but in close proximity with each other, she then glanced to Maya. Wondering if she wanted to give the information or not.

Looking again towards the building, John was relieved to see Maya and Sydney approaching. Turning towards them, he mumbled a 'get ready' to the group, before then John took a few steps towards Maya. "Find anything useful out?" He asked, once they were close enough that he didn't have to yell, and visa versa.

Siryn did her upmost best not to move from the wall when she saw the She didn't move a muscle for fear of giving away something. Casual, casual, casual.... she chanted in her head as she looked them over for any signs of injury. It's not that she doubted their ability to do their jobs, just that she worried about this odd little family of hers at times like this.

Now that Maya and Sydney had joined the group, and with John's signal to be ready, Lance was all but bouncing in impatience. I should get a f*cking sword and a flag, he thought randomly, his eyes darting across the building ahead and the people passing it by.

Astral was relieved to see Maya and Sydney, for it meant they were successful, and apparently unharmed. She remained silent, waiting by John.

Maya glanced at Sydney and just looked to John when he spoke to her. "Camera's are scattered to every other corner. Four people remain inside." She told him. "Nothing much else besides this stupid book." She said, her happy front disappearing. She looked towards Sydney. "I think those two who were a bit suspicious were mutants, what do you think?"

Nodding slowly as Maya spoke, his gaze lingered on the building. They could handle four people, even if two were mutants. There were six of them, meaning that even if Siryn was taking care of the cameras, they were still up one person. "Even if they're two mutants, we can handle them." John then said, speaking his thoughts out loud. "We'll lock them in a f*cking closet, or something. If they run out, we risk them telling the cops, or something." Not waiting for Sydney's conformation on the mutants, John looked over at the group again. "Alright, we'll head in. I know what I said about the intervals, but f*ck that."
