"I was just wondering if you think it´s safe for me to just walk out of the door or if I should use my powers." Shade clarified. It would not be the first time for the latter to be the wiser option.

"Ah," Gambit said. "Whichever fits your mood. I could call you a taxi, ya know."

Truth be told, Shade wasn´t really sure what fitted her mood right now. She was pretty sure she was fine and not under a shock by now though. Thinking, she nodded. "A taxi will do." she said. "but I ... need a mo to just get another shirt or something." she added, holing up her wrists. She was wearing the jumper she had grabbed back in the apartment and after stitching Gambit´s arm, the sleeves were now smeared with a little blood.

"I'm afraid you'll have to do without a new one," Gambit said. "Unless you can think of a way of buyin' it from some place around?"

"Won´t be necessary." Shade replied, walking over to where she had left her bag. "I had some stuff in here already when I grabbed it." She tended to have some of her stuff lie around when she was at Gambit´s place but since she usually brought her duffle bag, some shirts mostly remained in there so that was just being lucky right now.

Gambit smirked, watching her. "If I didn' know ya don' really have much stuff at my place, I'd be worried for your state of mind when, after I tell ya t' save things in a fire, ya grab some rags," he commented.

Shade had unzipped the bag and taken out a random shirt while he had been talking, had flopped it on the sofa and was now pulling the blood stained jumper over her head. Tossing him a glance across the shoulder she saw him smirk and for some reason felt some relief at that. Returning the smirk, she gave a wink while changing into the shirt. "You know how practical I can be at times." she said of course not only referring to having a few shirts at the ready in a bag - which resulted more from laziness than from being practical anyways. "just as knowing my mind is perfectly fine all of the time."

(( lol, that's the evil eye if I ever saw one ))
"Oh, I know," Gambit replied. He didn't have much to do for now while Shade was still here, so he simply leaned with his back against one of the shelves, studying the room randomly and listening to the aching in his arm and side.

Shade simply smiled in return. As usual, she didn´t need much time for something as simple as changing, not bothering with her looks too much right now. She stuffed the jumper back into her bag and closed it before she slung it over her shoulder and once more raked a hand through her hair. It felt somewhat messy, at least for her or it was just the remains of anxiety that she had not shaken off as completely as she was trying to convince herself she had. "Okay, so I guess I´m finished." she said, her words indicating that he could call for the cab if he wanted to.

"Okay," Gambit said, pulling his cellphone off his belt where it had been fastened nicely for the heist. He dialled the number for a cab, not taking his eyes off Shade, and gave them the adress a couple of blocks away.

Shade kept the eye contact while he was busy calling the taxi, thinking by herself how difficult it was to make sense of his emotions in moments like these. He didn´t show it too openly, but she figured he was probably still tense - he would have reacted differently to her affectionate gesture earlier had it been any different. It made her want to alleviate things for him, but that was easier said than done since the tenseness resulted from something she had no influence on nor could she change anything about what caused it.
She stepped a little closer to him and the door when he hung up to give him a peck on the nose. "Time to get myself kicked out then I guess." she said with a small smile, no reproach in her voice, just a statement.

"I guess so," Gambit said. His replies had been curt the entire morning; his thoughts were mostly elsewhere. There was only a very short line of people connecting the mob boss (who the day before had been the sole owner of the thing now attached to Gambit's chest) and the person who had provided the apartment for Gambit's use. They knew his address; it was possible they knew who he was, although that would be yet another line of people, and a longer one at that, but he would get to them all, one by one. As soon as his arm healed.
"You'll find the taxi a couple of blocks away from here," he told Shade. "Turn right when ya leave de house, den walk until ya reach a 7-11."

Shade nodded. His replies were reduced to what was necessary, which told her there was probably a whole lot of stuff going on in his head that kept him thinking. She knew nothing about who the attackers had been, whereas he probably knew a whole lot. She had no idea what a heist usually looked like, but from the preciseness he tended to put into things such as picking a lock or installing an entire security system, she by now knew he was very accurate in such things - a heist ending like this had to occupy his mind more than she could imagine to a point where responses like this were probably not surprising.
She turned to leave and reached for the door handle, opened the door and looked out. "I´ll see you around, Thief." she said, the last word conveying some of the affection the hug she had not demanded for would have held.

"In a few days," Gambit replied with a nod. He didn't follow Shade to the door, all he needed now was to stay alone and to think while trying to ignore the pulse of pain coursing through his arm. Plus, it wasn't his place to see people off here - he felt just as much a guest here as she probably did.
