Shade had no problem with seeing blood, she had never been too girly about that, but the wound didn´t look nice and probably hurt more than Gambit let show. But still, she didn´t like seeing him injured of course.
"I had to sew once back at school." she said, staring at the wound and feeling just a little bit sick. "that was a pillow though." And it hadn´t looked too briliant once she had been done with it.

"Well, imagine I'm a pillow, den," Gambit didn't mind. He had more faith in Shade's two hands than in his left one at the moment.
The metal box was a first aid kit, in a way, modified to suit the needs of those that used Donnie's place to wait out the stormy weather. Gambit grabbed a pack of paper tissues from it, tore the package with his teeth and took out a piece of tissue to wipe the blood away. "Dere shoulbbe some thread and needles inside," he told Shade.

Oh, great, Shade thought. Following his gaze she hesitated for a brief moment before she reached into the box and found the things he had mentioned. Taking it out, she gave the needle a look before she placed it on her knee for the moment. She would have to tie a little knot into the thread´s end to keep the thread from slipping she guessed. "Bad thing I´m not sadistic." she said. "for if I was I´d say ´hey, that´s gonna be fun.´"

"Oh yeah," Gambit agreed with extra joy. "But hey, dis still gonna be fun, no matter what ya say."
As he said it, the door opened again and Donnie walked back in. He put a small bottle and a couple of syringes on the table, then walked over and inspected Gambit's wound. "He-hey, not bad, man," he smirked. "You sure you don't need a new arm?"
"Yeah, go ahead, make fun," Gambit made a face. "Dere were five of 'em."
"Yeah, boo-hoo, poor Cajun," Donnie pretended to be sympathizing. "I'll be upstairs when you're done." He left the room again and his footsteps were heard going up the iron stairs.

Shade looked after the other man when he left again, raising an eyebrow. "Nice humour," she commented when Donnie was already heard walking back upstairs. Taking the needle and the end of the thread she tried to fidget it through the needle´s ear. "Friend of yours?"

"Uh-huh," Gambit nodded, tossing the used napkin away. He took one of the syringes and, sticking it through the rubber bottle cap, filled the syringe with the anesthetic. "So, um..." he frowned slightly, inspecting the syringe, "I guess you've figured by now we ain't comin' back to de apartment."

"Guessed as much." Shade replied, managing to get the needle ready an pulling the thread a little further. It had been fairly obvious, since Gambit had been stuffing things into his bag that she guessed he didn´t want to have anyone else lay hand on. Discs and the like if she wasn´t wrong. Likely whoever the others had been they had by now found a way to get into the apartment and turn it upside down.
She looked up, her eyes going to the syringe first, then to him. "Care to share how they were?" she asked. She very well knew she was aways risking a ´no´ or a ´you better not know´ with questions like this, but after having been dragged out of bed and through the whole city, after making it through gunfire she would at least try.

"No," Gambit replied. "Sorry, chere." He inserted the needle in several places around the wound, distributing the anesthetic under his skin. It wouldn't hold long, but just long enough to let Shade stitch him up was sufficient.

Shade sighed inwardly. She knew the motifs for him being secretive about such matters or at least guessed she did and caught herself thinking that a story behind the whole thing probably would not really have mad things much clearer. What information could names give her anyways. They had probably been people of a similar kind as the ones back in Tunisia. Imagine your guy was some CIA cop´, she thought with a hint of irony, ´he would be just the same with matters like these.´ It was a somewhat ridiculous thought and she couldn´t hold back the smallest of chuckles at it.
The needle was ready and she was now waiting for him to tell her she could get started (and get it over with) once the anesthetic showed effect. "Well,..." she said. "least now I know I can vanish a friggin´ bike."

"Yeah, dat's a plus," Gambit nodded, ignoring the faint chuckle she gave to his response. "I'll come wit' a car next time, be prepared." He put his hand down, waiting for the anesthetic to set in.

"That´d knock me out." Shade said, certain she was not exaggerating there. "I´d need a lot more training for a car." She gave the tip of the needle an almost thoughtful look. "Speaking of which, I´ll have their heads if they harm my Corvette." Which was a ridiculous thing to say since she didn´t even know who they were.

"Oh yeah?" Gambit raised his brow; he was rather amused at this statement. "You can have mine right away, wit' all de cards I exploded dere, I don't think dere's much left of it."

Shade looked at him, made a face and responded with a little groan of the oh-damn-tell-me-you´re-kidding sort. She couldn´t really remember where she had parked the car and she found her memory of what had been going on back at the garage was too jumbled to be able to tell if he was right.
"Guess it´s your lucky day." she said after a moment. "cause I´m too glad you still have your head to feel the serious wish to have it myself." She gave the needle another look. "damn the Egyptians."

"The Egyptians?" Gambit asked with his brows raised.

"Inventors of anesthetics." Shade replied biting back a chuckle and narrowing her eyes at him pretending she was now holding a grudge against him and she thought he needed at least a little punishment for ruining the Corvette - which, counting in the circumstances, was idiotic of course, since even though she had really liked that car there was no question what mattered more in a situation where it was Gambit getting out of a fight against five.
