He sounded like someone who had a story to tell and he had hinted at having problems to get a job and flat a moment ago, so Shade guessed Damien was referring to his life in general, while her remark had more referred to her powers. She turned her head and gave him a little smile. "Can be practical though." she said. "you can safe a whole lot of money when you know how to hide."

Shade nodded. "Invisibility." she said. "works pretty well for me, but I´m still developing to extend my powers to others and objects."

His eyes widened a little and he smiled slightly, "No way. Invisability...that sounds crazy. What was that like the first time it happened to you?"

"It was weird." Shade said with a chuckle, remembering. She had been 12 and she recalled having told this story to Rogue a whole while back. "I think I messed up something at school or whatever and my mum and me had to go see the teacher. I was scared although it was nothing big really. I refused to go there and locked myself in my room and well... I just vanished. It kind of scared me, because I couldn´t reappear for a moment. And after I managed I didn´t use my powers for quite a while because I got freaked out." She shrugged. "Now it´s all easy to control. At least my own invisibility."

Shade thought. Nowadays, it had become so much a part of herself that it wasn´t connected to a feeling any more but worked by impulse. "A tingle." she said. "like when you have bad circulation. But not any longer. I just feel that when I´m fighting against my powers kicking in, like when I´m scared or nervous and subconsciously want to vanish."

He nodded, "That sounds...nice. I wish I knew how to turn my power off...maybe I could a descent night's sleep for once." he smirked. A constantly working brain made sleep almost nonexsistant.

"I guess." Shade said, looking out over the lake. It had to be difficult, maybe similar to being an empath where outwards influences could be a difficulty to get rest. She felt reminded of a student of hers, Shadowgirl who had been haunted by other´s emotions during the nights.
"Maybe you just have to learn to put your brain on standby or something." she said, looking at him with a grin. "I mean, if it works like a computer or something, why not try and learn to switch the puter off during the nights?"
