"To me, lying is complicated in itself," Michael's eyes strayed away to the distance of the park in front of them. "But then again, luckily, I don't have to talk much to people outside the mansion, which means I can avoid lying. And all this is supposed to change when I will be able to simply switch my perception off."

Mischief stayed silent for a moment, not sure if she should ask her next question. "This might sound weird, but," she hesitated for a moment, "have your powers developed in anyway?"

"I don't think any question about powers can be weird in here," Michael remarked, "so don't worry about it... Since I came here, no," he said after a second's thinking. "Although I've probably gained even more control in how many people's emotions I can control at once and at what distance, but not in keeping them from my senses."

Mischief smiled as he made a point, "Yeah you're right." as he continued to she nodded a bit, so what had happened to her didn't seem to happen to every empath. "I think once you start getting older it also becomes easier to gain control over your powers."

Michael's features finally betrayed a hint of a smile at her words. "I would hope so," he said, "otherwise it could look pretty desperate." He turned to look at Mischief again. "Did you gain more control since coming here?"

Mischief noticed a small smile and that only caused her smile to grow, "Well, I've only just started working with the Professor to gain control, but so far it's really helping."
