Shade smirked at that, partly because she had not seriously intended to refer to using the dagger as a weapon of course, partly because she maybe had so in a joking manner. "I´m sure I will." she said. "blood stains would ruin the ornaments anyways." Another odd look from the waitress who chose just that moment to appear with her hot chocolate. Shade waited till the woman had turned around again and leaned to give Gambit a kiss on the nose. "Thanks." she said.

Shade shrugged lightly. "This ´n that." she said. "Made a little trip to the coast with Rogue, not much apart from that. I felt like I could use a change of scenery." In fact, she still could, even though it was difficult to pinpoint why exactly. It was a multitude of reasons, she thought. A, there was a pretty fine sports car at her disposal begging to take here to pretty places now and then, B, it was getting summer again which usually got her into more of a mood to be out and about and C, and that thought occured to her briefly but with quite some demand, sometimes she felt like getting away. It didn´t have anything to do with the people at the mansion actually... or maybe it had right now. She had had a couple of conversations with that new kid - Iggy. He was a nice kid, made no trouble, was usually cheerful ... and partly was such a painful reminder of Jimmy that she would rather want to leave the room - and yet, she usually didn´t. The kid wouldn´t know how to sort in that reaction.
She pushed the thought aside quickly, not sure if Gambit had been able to pick up on her very brief thoughtfulness. It was a matter of the sort she would discuss with him, maybe with noone else but him, but not in public.

"I don' doubt dat," Gambit said. "Why didn'cha go anywhere, den? An' don't tell me classes kept ya stuck in Westchester." He knew he had supplied her with enough money to make her feel free to move around, and as far as he knew, the only thing she'd ever really spent that on was when she visited her parents... and that was a long time ago.

There were many places Shade still wanted to see, in fact, had Gambit asked her to give a few examples, she would have been able to list plenty, but since they had been talking about ´lists of places to see´ she knew he was aware of that. However, even though she was none of the kind to have countless friends and always wanting to be surrounded by people and even though she didn´t have a problem with a little alone time now and then, travelling all on her own was not exactly the way of travelling she would have preferred.
"I don´t really like travelling alone." she said. "It´s not as much fun." It wasn´t because she would have been too shy to do it, nor because she would have been afraid - she knew she could fend for herself quite well and that she never needed to fear anything like crossing shady districts at night, there were always her powers, she merely favoured having someone to talk to, to laugh with, to share the fascination of a new place.

Or with a mob of teenagers, Shade concluded to herself, reminded of the last school trip. "Yeah." she said, feigning seriousness. "that or with one or two of the other hot guys on my list that I use to hide in my closet when you´re around." She rummaged through her jeans pocket and pretended taking a glance at a long list before pretending to look guilty. "Aw damn, did I just admit that?"

Shade smirked at that, feeling reminded of something he had said many months ago when he had been in hospital and told her she should sleep with someone else while he couldn´t move. It was impossible to tick him off with a remark like that. "They´d be boring." she said. "They wouldn´t be fun on a trip and probably just pull the usual tourist stuff. No adventure."

Shade gave a shrug, hiding a smile. "Whoever said I was hiding them there to have company on travels?" she asked. "Imagine me not getting laid for..." she squeezed one eye shut and looked up at the ceiling with the other, feigning deep thought. "...about three weeks. I´d be sitting here with lots of pretty kinky thoughts right now." She opened the eye again and gave him a look as if she had just been talking about the lastest Wallstreet news. She knew he granted her that freedom, even though she had never made use of it, nor felt the urge to do so, but sometimes it was fun to joke around like this.

Shade was unable to hide an accomplished smirk at that, seeing that Gambit took the hook she had laid out for him so quickly. In some way the situation reminded her of a year back when he had felt provoked in that café and for a very brief moment a thought flickered across her mind to dare him back and just start snogging him right there and then. A thought however that, fun as it seemed in theory, she put back again since even though she had become a lot more open minded in that respect she knew Gambit´s dare side was bigger than her own and she was more likely to pull back from what she started than him who would want to see how far she got. Which was a triumph sie was unwilling to give.
She let herself be dragged after him, leaving the half full cup of by now luke warm cocoa behind. The restrooms were on the other end of the café and she gave Gambit a small, playful shove towards the Ladies and, taking over the lead to be the one pushing now, pushed open the door to, much to er contentment, find the restroom empty. "Dare taken." she said before she kicked the door close with her foot and pulled him close in attempt to make him back up against the nearst wall.

Gambit briefly inspected the room behind them to see whether anybody noticed where they'd gone to, and the room in front of them; it was satisfyingly empty. He allowed Shade to back him up against the wall but didn't waste any time in getting her jeans unbuttoned as he leaned down to capture her lips in a kiss.

While she already started to undo the buckle of his belt with flying fingers, Shade instantly responded to the kiss, deepening it at once. Part of her stayed alert to what was going on around them, noticing that the place was empty so far but the command she had about her powers by now added to the fact that she felt little worry about being spotted. If anything, she knew that by now, even though it wasn´t too easy, she could work her powers on both of them for long enough not to let things become a problem if it would become necessary to hide.
