"You know, whenever we get you into something nasty we make sure we get you out again." Sandra said, picking up on what Alice said. "Not that you always behave like we think you will..." Which happened rather seldomly after all. "...and seriously" she said, looking at Shade "getting that Sentinel off you cost us some thinking..." It had been difficult indeed. She had realised halfway through that Shade was no match for a sentinel really. Had been the same on Halloween, but that of course hadn´t really counted.

"Hah!" Gambit exclaimed. "Thinkin'! I got serious issues wit' your inability t' write out my t'ievin' skills 'least halfway decently. Dunno how much thinkin' been put into dat... Don' mean t' upset ya, chere," he stared meaningfully at Alice, "but ya seriously suck at doin' research in de field."

It wasn´t surprising to hear Gambit say something like that, since Shade knew he was rather confident when it came to his skills - and as far as she could tell, this was no unjustified cockiness. "Nice." she said with a little eye rolling. "However much thought you put into it, some things still hurt." Such as tumbling down tube station trains for the sake of drama it seemed. "and while you´re at it - the stealth thing was kinda useful, so why not make more of it. Would at least be some way to make me not be too pouty about you guys toying around with bike crashes and oversized robots."

Alice glanced at Sandra, letting the other woman know Shade's complaint was her creator's to deal with, while Alice herself replied to Gambit's remark. "Yeah, well," she said with a shrug. "I'm trying my best. At least you get your thieving time and details as much as I can give, why not be thankful that you're not played by a 13-year old in whose rendering you'd be all 'He stole the President's credit card while live on air, hotwired the space shuttle and went into outer space'." That was a rather lame attempt at trying to show the other side of things, she knew it, but she couldn't manage to be quite convincing in his presence to be speaking absolutely logically.

Sandra had to admit she didn´t really envy Alice at the moment, because even though the other woman wrote him, she didn´t doubt Gambit might find a loophole in nearly everything Alice could probably say. Coming to think of it, she could remember only a few moments, where he had been rendered speechless and she had to admit to herself that those moments usually made her grin inwardly even though it was strangely usually Shade instead of her triggering that by doing something that didn´t seem to have potential of the like for her - like floating naked in a lake.
"Well..." she said, shifting a little, giving Shade a halfway apologetic look. "It´d be kind of boring to have you all uber-powerful wouldn´t it? With super developed skills and all. It´s much more fun developing it. See what you can do now already compared to when you showed up. And it can actually be pretty entertaining to make up ways to have you train stuff."

"Entertainin'..." Gambit echoed, sliding down off the sofa a little and spreading his arms along the back of the sofa as he stared at the ceiling. "Usually my privilege t' toy," he remarked, a grin appearing on his face. "I don' fare well wit' people gettin' deir entertainment at Gambit's expense. Or at de expense of those he considers important." If that continued, he thought, a nice little unexpected uprising against the creators would be just his idea of fun.

Shade had a rough idea that Sandra was not just refering to the annoying stuff like being chased by a Sentinel to trigger more potential in her powers when she talked about things being ´entertaining´. The other woman would of course be perfectly aware of quite a number of exercises where she, Shade, had tested the limits of her invisibility ... on Gambit to sum up in short. It was a weird feeling to know that those two had an insight into all those things actually and it didn´t really increase her mood nor did it make her feel comfortable to tell the truth.
What Gambit said kind of mirrored her own thoughts. The idea that there were two women toying with their fates so to say, responsible for the dangerous stuff they had been through, woke her protective instincts that she of course knew Gambit didn´t appreciate her to show since he saw it as his part in the relationship to be the protective one. which didn´t mean she would stay silent about it for too much longer maybe. "You should know I don´t really like this whole damsel in distress feeling." she said, narrowing her eyes a little. And she had felt helpless quite a few times which definitely was to be blamed on those two. Gee, she loathed that feeling.

"Right, so..." Alice pressed her lips together, thinking. "Listen, Remy, you've been on a hiatus long enough, anyway. I know you're avoiding me by all means, so, um, if this is your payback for my entertainment, you can stop already because I haven't been entertained for months. In fact, this is rather depressing not being able to RP you same as before."

That was actually a really interesting question, Sandra thought. She knew this was bugging Alice and she herself knew the feeling of... how to put it... not being able to control Shade much at times. She had developed in ways she had not intended for her initially, which didn´t mean she had a problem with that, but at times it seemed to her that the character she was writing was using her character trait of being stubborn a little too strongly and against her creator. Shade and Gambit ´running off on their own´ wasn´t too unfamiliar. Strictly speaking it was the two of them writing these two, but there was often the feeling that what she herself used to call ´inner Shade´ was a personality of her own. Sometimes it seemed like the creature had discovered free will, using its priviliges against the creator.

Gambit tore his gaze off the ceiling. He was rather pleased with himself now. Tricking the puppeteer had been a daring plan on his part, yet it seemed the gambler had again won. "Ah, tu vois," he said, "ain't so easy playin' wit' Gambit, eh?"

Shade couldn´t help but smirk. It was so typically Gambit to reply with a counter question there and if those two women knew anything about him they would be perfectly aware that they were in for some verbal bantering instead of getting nice and clearly structured replies for questions of that sort. "Especially since your idea of a game involves an awful lot of life threatening situations. Not too bad to escape from that for a while." She turned towards Sandra, narrowing her eyes slightly. "After nearly dieing three times within a little more than a year." she added with a particular stress on the ´three´.

"Three times," Alice looked at Sandra with a small nod, "if only she'd read the comic books..."

"Uh-huh." Sandra agreed giving Shade a half apologetic, half amused smile. "You´re maybe glad I didn´t either. Three times is pretty easy going. Specially since you don´t wanna get yourself into an X Men uniform. You never wanted a boring life anyways." Truth be told, sometimes it did feel mean to let her go through tough times and seriously, she didn´t always stay unaffected by writing dramatic episodes. She decided to better shut up about last Halloween for just that reason which hadn´t counted for the actual plot anyways.

"Well, okay," Gambit said, leaning forward and resting his elbows on his knees. "Speakin' of which, I've been really bored."

Shade tossed him a glance. That Gambit would say something of the like didn´t surprise her too much. He had mentioned it back when there had been the whole trouble with Wideawake, that he had the feeling that getting into some trouble was just what he would like to do. It was a strange sort of dilemma, not just for him, for even though she could have done without being scared out of her mind several times which she had been refering to just a moment ago, not too much happening around them wasn´t the greatest thing either.
