Following the address given in the message, Gambit and Shade entered a tall building on Manhattan and took the elevator to the twenty-ninth floor. Gambit's face said he was clearly not amused.
"Ya sho we gotta do dis?.." he asked Shade, leaning against the wall of the elevator. "I'd much rather be elsewhere."

"Not at all." Shade replied, referring to his question while the elevator was taking them upstairs. Gambit was pouting, his face clearly telling her that he either had no good feeling about that message or that he simply didn´t want to come here - or maybe both, she couldn´t tell. "I´m just curious." Even when saying that it sounded a little thin for an explanation, but strangely, her curiosity made up for that. Something she couldn´t actually pinpoint had made her want to go and investigate. The elevator came to a halt and the doors slid open, opening into an empty corridor. "If anything we can still just vanish." she said, tossing him a half amused look.

Alice was just finishing checking her e-mail and then she leaned against the back of the chair. "I bet they're gonna be late," she remarked. "The Thief will be all whiny and 'aw Remy don' wanna participate'." She herself had been, in fact, looking forward to that meeting.

Sandra was sitting on a low desk at one side of the wall and couldn´t help a little grin at the remark. “Oh, I bet.” she said, letting her legs dangle casually. "Shadey´ll insist on it though, hopefully. Mostly because I want her to insist." She had developed from over a year back, had become less naive to a point where she might have treated the note her and Alice had sent them as untrustworthy. If one didn´t temper with things a little that was.

"Right," Gambit smirked. "Who d'ya take me for, a coward? If anythin', I'll enjoy de game." The note said room 2929, which was funny, in a way; obviously the authors, or maybe at least one of them, were having fun twisting the fictional world to their own amusement. Holding Shade by the hand, he walked towards that door and knocked.

"Yeah, course you will." Shade said, giving him a playful nudge. The authors had both signed with names and thus identified themselves to be females after all. She had to admit she was slightly confused by it all, but didn´t mind that for now. As she had said, if things got weird, there were always her powers as a backup escape.

Alice flinched a bit at the knock on the door. She thought she had been prepared for the meeting, but still it felt... weird, at the very least. "Come in," she said, wondering whether she'd be able to keep all her planned questions for her character in mind the next few minutes. Meeting Gambit, even if only in virtual space, was rather... exciting.

Sandra was definitely trying to look more relaxed than she felt, her legs still dangling and sitting on her hands that had admittedly started to sweat somewhat. She froze for a second when they knocked. This was for sure promising to be interesting for a load of reasons, also because even she herself could never really tell what Shade would do next. Same went for the Thief.

Gambit opened the door and strolled in leisurely. He couldn't bring himself to feel humble in front of women (unless it was Tante Mattie), not even if those women literally directed his fate at the moment. Walking over to a sofa, he sat down, crossing his legs and looking with curiosity at the female authors, feigning nonchalance. Not every day you meet your creator. "Bon jour ladies," he said.

Shade wondered whether that sort of a carpet was becoming a fashion because the first thing she noticed about the room was that it had the same fluffy carpet Gambit had in his apartment. She raised an eyebrow at that, thinking whether the two authors, both women in their 20s, shared her and Gambit´s liking for the thing which seemed likely for obvious reasons, also because it was not the only part of the room that seemed... familiar so to say. "Hello." she said when she sat down on the sofa next to Gambit eyeing the women on the other side of the room with curiosity she was trying to hide.

"Hey," Alice smiled at the two. She noticed Shade was looking rather uneasy, compared to Gambit; well, that was understandable. "Thanks for coming, guys," the author continued. "And don't worry. We're not gonna bite, twist your fates right now or create black holes," she snickered. "Although that does sound like fun..."

It was completely weird being faced with the two of them and it took Sandra some concentration not to start stammering. Of course the looks Shade was giving them was a little askew, she had never been the one to hide what she was thinking too perfectly while Gambit was (at least claiming to be) nonchalance itself. And looking handsome enough to make it somewhat difficult not to stare. "It would." she agreed with a smirk. "Well, we can always take notes for later after all but we´ll leave you at peace for now."

"Yeah, ya better," Gambit nodded. "Ya still owe me for dat neck-breakin' story." He hadn't planned to be mean but that grudge was still there and he intended to share it.

Shade crossed her arms in front of her chest. "That was awful, really." she said. She had seriously hardly ever been as scared as she had been back then in the hospital. Which they knew of course, which maybe made it all the more strange. "You guys seriously have weird ideas of fun."

Alice held her gaze on Gambit for a few seconds (really, it was hard not to), then glanced at Shade. "You can't really deny that some dramatic rough times are just what you need from time to time," she said, knowing she sounded apologizing, and she was, in a way. "And besides, I wouldn't have let you get harmed too drastically. And you always have in-game back-up."
