Shade closed her eyes, letting the autumn sun shine onto her face, breathing a few relaxed breath. That she did showed she was not as mistrusting against Pietro as she had been at their first encounter - an unconscious detail of body language to close eyes in someone´s presence, making herself attackable; a strategy used by some animals to express a lack of mistrust but rooted in human behaviour as well which Shade didn´t know. There was no reason to fear Pietro. There was not yet a reason for her to like him; he had threatened her and Rogue and he did not feel sorry for it neither did he regret his harsh words and his and his sister´s insults, but at some point, Shade had decided he was not a threat any longer. At least not for now; not until he met Rogue, misunderstood her attempts of helping (as Shade had no doubt she would get the Brotherhood to help the Institute when danger came) as a threat which would make herself stand up against Pietro for reals. If that situation ever came.

::Pietro watched as she closed her eyes; apparently she did not fear him as she had earlier. That was progress as far as the truce was concerned; he was not out to hurt her unless she moved against the mansion. She might also be tired. He shifted slightly.:: "If you are tired, I can leave you be."

Shade opened her eyes again. She was feeling slightly lazy, but not tired. She had slept in again today, catching up lack of sleep but that was wearing off. "I´m not tired." she said, wondering if he had taken her momentary silence as an indirect sign to be left alone. "just a little lazy." If he wanted to leave, he always could. If not, she didn´t really mind. "If your company bothered me I would´ve left already." She didn´t say that in an offensive way, but neutrally. A description of facts.

::Pietro nodded slightly. He had assumed she was tired, and had granted her more subtelty than she likely possessed. She was more than capable of telling him off if she wanted to be left alone, because of distrust or weariness. Still, although he did not display them often, he was more than capable of manners and had thought to ask.::

Shade crossed her legs; those who knew a thing or two about her body language would have been able to tell this meant she was relaxed now. She had been serious about her words. Pietro´s presence did not bother her; it would have had before their truce, now things were kind of settled between them and therefore she saw no further reason to be overly cautious around him. Which didn´t mean she would talk to him the way she´s talk with a friend because that usually involved personal details, playful punches and smiles; but she was more at ease now. "What is it you do?" she asked. He was no teacher that much was obvious. "What´s your job?"

::There was an obsession with jobs. Pietro had always noticed that, perhaps because nothing had ever held his interest. His abilities allowed him to be a Jack of all trades, capable of all manner of tasks completed in mere seconds or minutes as the mood struck him. These past weeks, that had been devoted to neglected chores; anything that would help pass the time had been welcome. However, he was in no mood for an answer that would come off as arrogant or cryptic, an "I do what is needed." Instead, his answer was what he generally did; he could answer no other way.:: "I work security."

"Ah" Shade replied with a little nod. It made sense; she had found him patroling the grounds last time they had been speaking. Not that she felt safer knowing Pietro was on guard; she felt safe because she knew Gambit had most likely turned the mansion into a second Fort Knox after he was finished with it. "Good to know the mansions a rather safe place by now." she said.

::Pietro saw no need to correct her, to tell her that they were safe from outsiders, but not from the likes of Magneto. They had been over this before. Neither budged from their position; neither ever would. Instead, he simply nodded.:: "For the present."

Shade was not surprised he did not agree; for she picked up on person´s speaking pattern´s quickly and reading between the lines whenever Pietro gave an answer that was agreeing in this way, with limitations, it meant that he was critical. Something about his answer stirred reluctance in her. Sure, she was biased there, but when it came to security matters around the mansion, everybody who knew just a little bit about Gambit would have to admit that there was little worrying he had not done best as possible. "Well I trust in the mansions security system." she said. She knew it was not necessary to defend anything nor should she be bugged by Pietro´s scepticism... after all what wasn´t that guy sceptical about? But still, she felt like prompted to point it out.

"Security systems are only as good as the judgment of the men who command them," ::Pietro replied with no emotion in his voice. He knew Gambit had installed new security systems; he knew he and this woman had a relationship. What Pietro thought of Gambit's infidelity aside, he had no reason to distrust his intentions. However, everything man-made was fallible in some way, and the more serious the inside threat, the less likely it is that the system would work. Then there was the fact that Uncle insisted on housing those threats.::

Shade narrowed her eyes at him for a brief moment but then relaxed again. The part of her that had prompted to defend Gambit´s technical skills was slightly growling at Pietro´s response, but then she inwardly chuckled at that reaction of hers. Gambit didn´t need defense like this, he knew he was good at that kind of stuff and he would have shrugged off criticism. Apart from that, it sounded as if the criticism in Pietro´s words was more hinted at the Professor. He would be the one to command the security system. No matter who it was directed at, both men or just one of them, it was the same reply that sprang to her tongue.
"In that case I´ll feel even safer." she said. It was, in a way, a proof of loyalty and trust she had in Xavier. He had done so much for her, he had been forgiving when she had deceived him, he had been at her side so often to calm her down or comfort her. If not Pietro, at least Shade trusted the Professor´s judgement without the slightest doubt.

::Pietro took the statement for what it was, and felt no need to further address it. Uncle's forgiving nature would hurt him badly one day. If it was at the hands of Magneto, then the son would rise and kill the father without hesitation. If it was not, it would be by some other Brotherhood member; the shape-shifter or Rogue perhaps. Uncle might be satisfied to put himself in danger, but there were dozens of others who lived here with him. Pietro was not willing to risk their lives the way Uncle was willing to risk his own.:: "You keep your trust, then."

Shade raised an eyebrow at him. "You sound critical." she said, stating the obvious.

"I am always critical," ::Pietro replied, expression sober, voice free of both remore and pride.::

Shade chuckled slightly. "I noticed." she said. The way he sounded evoked the impression that he was far to wary, far too critical to truly trust anyone. Sure, some people trusted more, some less easily, but Pietro seemed to be a particularly difficult case. "Guess that means I shouldn´t feel too offended you don´t trust me then." she said. Not that she would.
