Gambit stopped the car outside the mansion’s gates. He took out his dart gun and, attaching a Six Flags flyer to a dart, aimed carefully and shot at Shade’s window. The dart crossed the distance between him and the mansion and attached itself to the windowpane. Remy sat back down in his car and waited. After his successful heist, the amount of money earned, and with the silver-colored car with an open roof, he was in an extremely good mood, and the only thing that could be added to it to make his day absolutely perfect was Shade.

Shade had been sitting on the windowsill, lazily leafing through some lesson plans for later in the semester when something struck her windowpane. She jumped, then opened the window and found a dart with a flyer attached to it. Gambit, she thought with a smile. She took her jacket and left the room. Stepping out onto the gates, she found the weather being warm and sunny and felt her moods rise all the more. She looked around the grounds, but couldn’t see him. Then her eyes fell unto an elegant, silver car in front of the gates. Shaking her head slighly, her smile spread into a grin as she approached the car and its driver. "You got a pretty silver car." she said cheerfully.

"Yeah," Remy smiled, turning his head to look at her, "I hear it helps t' pick up chicks."
He leaned across the passenger seat and opened the door for her.

"Oh it definitely does help." she said with a grin as she climbed into the car. Then she held up a hand and the flyer turned visible in her hand. "That where we’re going?" she asked, beaming like a kid.

"Dat's why I got de car," Remy nodded. "So, may I abduct Shade for de whole Sunday?"
Posted by Shade on May 6, 2007, 14:34
She wrinkled her nose, feigning this was something she seriously had to think about first. "Yep." she said then and grinned. "shouldn’t be a problem."

"Good," Remy said. He reached out to the backseat, grabbing a brown envelope that lay there. Inside, there was a souvenir license plate with a name, the kind they sell in tourist shops all over US, but this one had 'Shade' on it. "Something for you," Remy said as he gave Shade the envelope and turned the ignition on.

Shade took the envelope from him and, feeling a little bit like a kid on Christmas, opened it.
Taking out the license plate, she had to keep back a squeal "Awesome" she said and beamed at him. "I don’t have a car but I just mentioned to Rogue how boring the walls of my room look. Or I could attach it to my door." Yeah, that was a good idea. Her door had no sign, this would look great. "Thank you." she said, leaning across the seat to kiss him on the cheek.

Remy smiled as he pulled out into the alley that lead from the mansion to the Salem Center. "Let's get a lunch somewhere," he said, "it's a two hour drive t' Six Flags."

"Wow, didn’t know it was that far." Shade said. "I guess part of me is still living in my childhood small world." Not that she would mind. It was a wonderfully sunny day, perfect for cruising around in an open car. She held her face into the wind, enjoying the breeze. "What are you hungry for?" she asked.
Posted by Gambit on May 6, 2007, 15:35
"Dunno," Remy said, "some pasta, maybe. Know any good places in Westchester?" he glanced at her.
(( I'll be slow today because I'm going an exam at the same time and making new avas for Gambit ))

"Pasta sounds good." Shade agreed with a nod. "Hm... . There was this Italian place down in Westchester I went once a while ago which have a pretty good lasagna." She remembered the day well. It had been her first meal after she had gotten off the bus, the day she had come to Xavier’s. She had spent another day in the city, unsure about whether the Institute was a good place and still mustering her courage she had found that restaurant, feeling a little awkward to sit there and eat all on her own. Still, the place had been nice.
((no problem ))

"Lead de way," Remy said. They turned into another alley with sun shining across the road, and he got his shades and put them on.
(( Can you make us something like a Six Flags thread? ))
