"The usual," Emily shrugged. "Kinda boring. I've been doing some babysitting just to pass the time... Maybe I'll apply for a place at a university soon, I don't know." She studied him for a second. "What about you? Why are you not at the mansion? I thought you were going to live there for a while..."

Aedan shrugged, a bit shocked on the inside when the conversation turned to himself. "I went home for a bit... Trying to clear my head, and when I found nothing there, I returned... but I'm not sure if I'm going to the mansion anyways. It's not exactly like people find me likeable and appealing..." He chuckled nervously, and ran his hands through his longer then normal hair. He still felt that residual guilt about what he had done... But wasn't that why he was here in the first place? To make up for it, and do what he could for the people whom he affected.

"Are you sure?" Emily asked, genuinely confused by that. True, she, for one, wasn't exactly jumping on him in joy, wasn't really supposed to, either, but the mansion's dwellers were not limited to her alone, and, strictly speaking, she saw no reasons to feel distaste towards him right now - what he'd done to her was in the past, and he had shown nothing but good attitude and respect towards her ever since then.
Running over all that in her head, she concluded aloud, "God, I hope I don't make you feel guilty anymore, do I?"

Aedan blushed. He chuckled nervously. "Well, honestly, I do feel that way." He looked over to her and smirked awkwardly. "What I did was horrible, and I still feel that way. As far as the people in the mansion, I'm sure they've far from forgotten my darker side trying to steal all their powers and then kill them.." He shook his head, the thought of his own meaner side causing the taste of bile to rise in his throat. "I'm truly sorry..."

"Stop that, okay?!" Emily exclaimed, throwing her hands up. "I don't hold it against you anymore. Just as long as you don't do it again, it's fine," she added in a calmer tone. She wasn't feeling too comfortable knowing she was making the other person feel guilty...

Aedan's eyes widened, and then he gave half of a smile. "Okay okay... Good." He smiled over to her. ""It's kind of funny to see you all uppity." He said with a playful full smile.

"Funny," Emily echoed sceptically, leaning back in the chair and folding her arms across her chest. "Really?"

Aedan took a chance, though his rational brain urged otherwise. "Aye, it's kind of cute." He chuckled, picking up the menu and glancing through it.

Emily couldn't find anything sensible to respond with. "Well... if you say so," she replied, then took her cup as a means of visual defense to hold and drink from while she was thinking what he meant by that.

Aedan was sure she was playing shy, but he asked a passing waiter for a cup of coffee to distract himself, and perhaps to give her room to think.

Trying to find something neutral to talk about, Emily finally came up with a question, although she wasn't even sure she hadn't asked that before. "So what are you planning to do now? Are you going to stay in the city for a while?"

Aedan nodded. "That's the plan. I'm in a hotel down the street for now until I can get a job to hold down an apartment... Not sure what to do though." Aedan had considered quite a few things, to be honest, but hadn't had the heart to go out and apply anywhere.

"Not sure what kind of a job to look for?" Emily clarified.

Aedan chuckled softly and nodded. "I could always do bodyguard duty, but it tends to get boring... and I don't like being dragged all over the country."

"Well, being a policeman could always be an alternative..." Emily mused. "Or you could be a bouncer at the Hellfire Club or something..." She couldn't tell why she was offering him ideas but it seemed like an interesting enough topic to talk about. Besides, the idea of what job to choose had been bothering her lately as well.
