The grey clouds were threatening rain on the mansion as Rogue headed out towards the lake. She'd pulled her gloves on without even noticing. Her powers weren't back and yet they might as well of been - nearly every inch of her skin was covered and she wore a long scarf around her neck. She picked up a handful of pebbles and began to throw them at the lake, more violently each time until she threw the rest of the handful at once imagining she was hitting the crowd of people she most wanted to hit.

Still doing a kind of inspection of the grounds, Emily was drawn to yet another water reservoir. She felt sooner than she saw it, but a glance down the hill rewarded her with a whole lake.
She nearly jumped for joy as she hurried down the hill towards the edge of the water.
There were people talking there... she decided not to interrupt; maybe they did not want to be disturbed. So she stopped at a spot some distance from them and started playing with water. She had an idea that she could make foam if she parted water molecules, leaving some air between them; so she tried to make foam on the calm surface of the lake.

"Hi, Shadow, I'm Typhoid." She smiled at the other student a minute, then turned back to Rogue. "Kinda figured. I can leave if you want."
Her attention was caught for a minute when she felt another person in the area, but she shrugged it off. There were always people around.

"What happened?" Ty regretted the question immediately after it came out; prying wasn't usually her style.

'I was born,' Rogue said bitterly, sitting down on the grass and hugging her legs close. After a few moments she spoke again, her voice much quieter, 'and I fought with John, and Xavier and Erik's just,' She picked up a heavy stone and threw it at the water, 'Erik's just Erik.'
Posted by Typhoid Mary on Apr 17, 2007, 2:10pm
"Fought with Xavier? And John?" She refrained from saying anything about Erik. That wasn't her best subject. "About that little kid?"
Posted by Rogue on Apr 17, 2007, 2:14pm
Rogue shook her head. She'd almost forgotten she had to sort out Beth's care amidst everything.
'No. They're just both insufferable.'
Posted by Typhoid Mary on Apr 17, 2007, 2:15pm
"Well, you have my vote on that with John. Xavier..." she trailed off. She still couldn't figure out what to make of him half the time.
Posted by Aqua on Apr 17, 2007, 2:18pm
Emily tried hard not to eavesdrop to the conversation the two girls were having, but she heard their tones of voices and realized the topic of their dialog was far from happy. She thought if there was something she could do or say to comfort without interfering; after a second's thinking, she got a good idea and began gathering blades of grass to carry out her plan.
Posted by Rogue on Apr 17, 2007, 2:18pm
'Xavier's just bitter,' Rogue said, finishing Ty's sentence even though they probably weren't the words she'd been looking for.
Posted by Typhoid Mary on Apr 17, 2007, 3:07pm
She arched an eyebrow. "Really? That wouldn't have been my first guess."
Posted by Rogue on Apr 17, 2007, 3:09pm
'It's just my opinion - it's probably not right,' Rogue said before sighing.
Posted by Typhoid Mary on Apr 17, 2007, 3:12pm
She shrugged. "No one's right all the time. What'd you argue about?"
Posted by Aqua on Apr 17, 2007, 3:14pm
Emily straightened the surface of water on a small area and stopped the motion of water particles as much as she could; then she began to place blades of grass onto it like children make words with sticks on sand. "It's gonna be okay," the blades of grass spelled on water. She stood up and began moving the layer of water with the entire composition towards two girls.
Posted by Rogue on Apr 17, 2007, 3:18pm
Rogue opened her mouth to answer Ty when she saw the words written in grass on the water. She turned her head around and saw someone she didn't know but they were obviously responsible. She smiled slightly and waved before looking at Ty.
'About Erik.'
Posted by Typhoid Mary on Apr 17, 2007, 3:20pm
Ty raised an eyebrow at the message, then grinned. "Aqua's fooling with us." She'd only just met the girl, but it wasn't hard to guess who it was. Hearing Rogue's comment, she frowned. "Why do I get the feeling I know exactly what that was about?"
Posted by Rogue on Apr 17, 2007, 3:22pm
Rogue shrugged, 'maybe because it's been done to death.'
Posted by Typhoid Mary on Apr 17, 2007, 3:24pm
"It probably has..." Ty said, "so I won't repeat it. What's the deal with Myst, though?" She frowned, not comfortable with what Mystique had told her at all.
Posted by Aqua on Apr 17, 2007, 3:25pm
Emily sighed, but it was a sigh of relief. Well, at least she didn't interrupt anything. It seemed like her unexpected mission of encouragement was finished, but she didn't want to leave the lake so soon. The success with keeping grass letters straight and not letting them flow apart seemed to spur her desire to try out something else. She crossed her arms on her chest, unsure what to try next.
Posted by Typhoid Mary on Apr 17, 2007, 3:27pm
She turned her attention away from Rogue for a second, and yelled suddenly. "Hey, Emily!" At the very least the girl might do a better job at cheering Rogue up- not to mention having someone else around would keep her from beating the girl over the head with what she said to Myst.
Posted by Aqua on Apr 17, 2007, 3:32pm
"Hey!" Emily waved a hand. She remained where she was, however; it was clear that those two were having a serious talk, and she wouldn't approach them unless they asked her to. She concentrated and created a kind of a big hand that rose from the water and waved. It was hard to do, so the hand looked very simple and cartoonish.
Posted by Rogue on Apr 17, 2007, 3:32pm
'What about her?' Rogue asked
Posted by Typhoid Mary on Apr 17, 2007, 3:35pm
Ty giggled at Emily's "wave." It was good to have someone around who could have fun with their powers. "Something she said you called her," Ty said to Rogue, turning serious again.
Posted by Rogue on Apr 17, 2007, 3:40pm
'I've called her a lot of things,' Rogue mumbled. She wasn't going to sugar-coat the truth, she'd been a bitch to a lot of people but that was how she dealt with things. She didn't forget that Mystique had welcomed her warmly on her first day at the Brotherhood, or that she'd been the one to clean out her cuts on one occasion but there was too much dislike between them for her to act all friendly.

"No sh*t, Sherlock," Typhoid muttered.

'Don't be a wanker, Watson.' Rogue muttered back.
Posted by Typhoid Mary on Apr 17, 2007, 3:50pm
She bristled at that. "Ok, you know what, you need to get off it, Rogue. Your life sucks....so does the rest of ours. Be an adult and deal with it."
Posted by Rogue on Apr 17, 2007, 3:55pm
Rogue blinked for a second, before she threw another stone at the lake to stop herself yelling.
'I f*cking tried.'
Posted by Typhoid Mary on Apr 17, 2007, 3:59pm
She rolled her eyes. "Yeah, you tried. You tried accusing Mystique of something that you're just as guilty of. That didn't work, so now you call everyone names. That's not being an adult...that's acting like a child."
Posted by Rogue on Apr 17, 2007, 4:03pm
Rogue stood up slowly.
'You...' she began, her mouth open but no words came out. She was so fed up of everything.
'And I don't get called names at all do I?' she asked sarcastically.

"Well, you know Rogue really doesn`t have the mentality to get past this whole childish mind she has." John Allerdyce said bitterly as he walked towards the two, the scratch marks on his face still bright red.

"What the fu*ck are you talking about, Rogue? I didn't call you anything. I gather Myst didn't until you started in." She raised an eyebrow at John. "And what the hell happened to you?"
Posted by Aqua on Apr 17, 2007, 4:06pm
Okay, Emily said to herself. Now it's really time to get lost. She walked up the hill back towards the mansion.
Posted by John Allerdyce on Apr 17, 2007, 4:08pm
"Why don`t you ask her?" John asked with a scowl, as he motioned towards Rogue.
Posted by Rogue on Apr 17, 2007, 4:09pm
Rogue clenched her fists at her side. One part of her wanted to lash out but the larger part just wanted to dive into the lake and not come out until things were better.
Posted by Typhoid Mary on Apr 17, 2007, 4:10pm
Ty shot a "WTF?!?!?" look at Rogue. "Sh*t, I see Mystique's not the only one you've been pissing off. Erik rubs off fast doesn't he?"
Posted by Rogue on Apr 17, 2007, 4:12pm

'Just f*ck off! Both of you!' Rogue snapped her fingernails digging into her palms through her gloves.
Posted by Typhoid Mary on Apr 17, 2007, 4:21pm
"No, because see, that's how you react to everything right now. 'You don't like it, then f*uck off.' Sh*t doesn't always work that way. You wanna have friends, you wanna have people like you, or just get them off your back. Telling them to F off isn't going to cut it." Ty said, in a rush. "Trust me, I know."
Posted by John Allerdyce on Apr 17, 2007, 4:32pm
"Why don`t you just go be all angsty around someone who cares? Oh right- Magneto isn`t around, so that sort of rules out that option-" John spat, his eyes narrowed.

::Xavier had been out on the grounds, examining the damage that had been done in the recent attack. As he looked up, he saw Marie run from the lake, towards the gates. He wheeled towards the gates as well, intending to meet her. She was in tears, so he spoke softly.:: "Marie."
Posted by Rogue on Apr 17, 2007, 4:55pm
Rogue looked up from the ground and stopped, biting her lip to stop herself sobbing.
'Sir,' she managed to choke out in acknowledgment
Posted by The Man on Apr 17, 2007, 4:56pm
::The Professor wheeled over to her side, reaching into his jacket pocket to remove his handkerchief. As he held it out to her, he asked a question to which he already knew the answer.:: "What's the matter?"
Posted by Rogue on Apr 17, 2007, 4:58pm
Rogue took the handkercheif and wiped a few tears away, more preoccupied with balling it in her fist.
'I hate him,' she mumbled. It wasn't really an answer but that was at the front of her mind.
Posted by The Man on Apr 17, 2007, 4:59pm
::That wasn't what was bothering her; Xavier knew that. But if she wanted to start again with her relationship with John, he would oblige her.:: "What happened today?"
Posted by Rogue on Apr 17, 2007, 5:01pm
'He... well we just fought but he went too far,' she mumbled, sitting on the grass so she could just hug her legs and hide behind her hair.
Posted by The Man on Apr 17, 2007, 5:07pm
"The same argument as before?" ::The Professor asked. It could either be about Beth, the little girl they had found, or about her relationship with Erik. Considering recent events, he assumed it was the latter.
He was far too familiar with the aftermath of arguments, when a comment went too far, cut too deeply. It was a miserable feeling, and it was unfortunate that once again she found herself there. He would speak with John, to see if the argument had hurt both ways. That would be later, for now, she needed to be comforted.::
Posted by Rogue on Apr 17, 2007, 5:08pm
Rogue nodded, 'I just wish he'd shut his mouth about Erik,' she mumbled.
Posted by The Man on Apr 17, 2007, 5:10pm
"Perhaps he will this time, when he sees how hurt you are," ::The Professor replied, resting his hands on the arm rests of his wheelchair.:: "You know that John is an opinionated young man, and that topic is a difficult one for the most reserved of us."
Posted by Rogue on Apr 17, 2007, 5:12pm
'So I've guessed,' Rogue said. Practically every conversation she had these consisted of her defending her actions regarding Erik.
Posted by The Man on Apr 17, 2007, 5:27pm
"It's also difficult to apologize, when we feel that we're in the right. Particularly on topics that are important to us," ::The Professor continued. He knew that she most likely woud never apologize for her attitude in his office, or for other harsh words she had said to him, to Raven, or about either of them. She wasn't the apologetic sort, which was something he knew Erik saw in her. He didn't require an apology; he was an adult and it was his burden to accept such statements without reaction. It was more difficult, because at the same time that Marie inflcited hurt, she felt it unjustified to have it returned. Erik's influence.
Aside from the severe age difference between Marie and Erik, aside from Erik's Brotherhood affiliation and terrorist deeds, aside from the fact that Marie was a student and Erik had been his lover, Xavier had his reasons for disapproving of the relationship. It was his own concern for her, the sort that only he could have, due to personal experience. He feared she would lose herself to him. And from what he had seen, the process had already begun. Perhaps, before it was too late, he could explain that to her. Then again, she dismissed everything he said as bitterness on his part. She still had growing to do.::
Posted by Rogue on Apr 17, 2007, 5:39pm
Rogue snorted slightly, 'I don't want him to apologize.'
And she didn't. She was the one who'd scratched John's face and had stormed off, she was the one who owed him an apology but damned if she would admit that. She just wanted to stop caring about him, it'd be easier that way.
'I want Erik,' she mumbled quietly.
Posted by The Man on Apr 17, 2007, 5:42pm
"I know," ::The Professor replied, watching her carefully. He understood her pain all too well.:: "But sometimes, life doesn't grant us what we want."
Posted by Rogue on Apr 17, 2007, 5:43pm
'I hate him too.' she added, hugging her legs even closer.
Posted by The Man on Apr 17, 2007, 5:45pm
::Now they were approaching the crux of the matter. Xavier tilted his head slightly to the side.:: "Why is that?"
Posted by Rogue on Apr 17, 2007, 5:51pm
Rogue shrugged. She hated Erik for putting her through Liberty Island and getting into her head. She hated how he'd intrigued her enough to seek him out in the school and let him get under her skin. She hated how he turned people against her just by being with her and she hated how he'd done so much for her. But most of all she hated him because it was only when she was with him, the brutal terrorist and murderer, that she felt safe.
'I just hate him.' she mumbled
Posted by The Man on Apr 25, 2007, 1:57am
::Xavier had been there, many times in the past. He had never hated Erik, of course. Hatred was not an emotion he freely felt. Rather, he had resented him, grown frustrated with him, worried about him, been jealous of his freedom, and felt every other emotion he could have.
Erik had that effect on others, and Marie felt it now, attached as she had become. Xavier could only hope that she would see that she was too young, too naive, and had entered a waltz to which she didn't know the steps. That she would find a teenaged boy who would be there for her, treat her well, teach her what healthy love was. Until that point, he, himself, would need to guard her.:: "That's understandable."
Posted by Rogue on Apr 25, 2007, 2:38pm
Rogue banged her fist hard on the ground, the soft silk spattered with dirt. She couldn't remember what that made her put the gloves on in the first place but that all seemed irrelevant now.
'Why can't everyone just go away?' she mumbled quietly, mainly to herself.
Posted by The Man on Apr 29, 2007, 12:09pm
"Because in the end, Marie, all we have is one another," ::The Professor replied, his voice soft. He understood the pain, how the emotions could make you feel as though your heart were being consumed from the inside out. But mutants were people, and people were social creatures. They needed one another.::
Posted by Rogue on Apr 29, 2007, 12:14pm
'That sucks,' Rogue mumbled, kicking a stone.
Posted by The Man on Apr 29, 2007, 12:22pm
"You might think so now, but it does get easier," ::The Professor replied. She was depressed, and perhaps nothing he said would connect. That would not stop him from trying to impart his caring.::
Posted by Rogue on Apr 29, 2007, 12:24pm
'yeah but when?' Rogue mumbled, looking up at the grey skies.
Posted by The Man on Apr 29, 2007, 1:02pm
"Time will tell," ::The Professor replied. He had no exact answer for her; there were times when he, in all of his years, faltered. It was only his hope that allowed him to know that it was an upward battle.::
Posted by Rogue on May 1, 2007, 3:23pm
Rogue looked over at the Professor and smiled slightly. She was half-amazed that he didn't hate her after everything she'd said and done to him.
'Thanks.'
Posted by The Man on May 1, 2007, 3:27pm
"This is why I'm here, you know," ::The Professor said, a soft smile touching his lips as well. It was relieving to see her smile, after all of the trouble she had been having. Perhaps she would listen to his advice.::
Posted by Rogue on May 1, 2007, 3:29pm
'Yeah I know,' Rogue said, running a hand through her hair.
Posted by The Man on May 1, 2007, 3:36pm
"What are you going to do now?" ::The Professor asked. He would prefer that she not run off again, if she still felt as enraged. She would require time to herself, but in a less destructive form, where she could think through his advice, and her relationships with her friends and Erik.::
Posted by Rogue on May 1, 2007, 3:37pm
'Wallow in self hate, dye my hair black and start wearing plugs instead of hoops?' Rogue replied, half-joking.
Posted by The Man on May 1, 2007, 4:02pm
"If you'd like my honest opinion, black hair wouldn't suit you," ::Xavier replied, humor in his voice. This was familiar territory; Jean had gone through a similar phase.::
Posted by Rogue on May 1, 2007, 4:04pm
'Really? Maybe I was just destined to be a skunk then,' Rogue said, playing with a piece of white hair.
Posted by The Man on May 1, 2007, 9:39pm
::Xavier was concerned by her use of the word, "destined." The loss of color in her hair hadn't been a secondary mutation; it had been a direct result of Erik's machine, his crusade to turn humans into mutants with the sacrifice of her life. But now was not the time to have a diatrab; she was all too aware.:: "Your hair is lovely as it is."

'Thank you,' Rogue said, 'your head's quite cool too sir.'
Posted by The Man on May 4, 2007, 12:04am

Posted by Rogue on May 4, 2007, 2:42am
'You're welcome,' Rogue replied, before looking up at the skies that were still as grey as before.
Posted by The Man on May 6, 2007, 11:33pm
"Perhaps you should go inside," ::The Professor encouraged quietly. Moping outside with the gray sky would not help her mood.::
Posted by Rogue on May 7, 2007, 8:19am
'Yeah,' Rogue mumbled but paused before she stood up. 'Thanks sir.'
Posted by The Man on May 8, 2007, 11:28am

Posted by Typhoid Mary on Apr 17, 2007, 3:48pm
"No sh*t, Sherlock," Typhoid muttered.
Posted by Rogue on Apr 17, 2007, 3:49pm
Posted by John Allerdyce on Apr 17, 2007, 4:04pm
"Well, you know Rogue really doesn`t have the mentality to get past this whole childish mind she has." John Allerdyce said bitterly as he walked towards the two, the scratch marks on his face still bright red.
Posted by Typhoid Mary on Apr 17, 2007, 4:05pm
'Don't you dare,' Rogue said, her voice dangerously low, 'don't you dare talk about Erik.'
Posted by John Allerdyce on Apr 17, 2007, 4:14pm
"Too bad Magneto isn`t around to rub off on you more." John said, sarcastically, a mocking look on his face.
Posted by Typhoid Mary on Apr 17, 2007, 4:14pm
"Oh, come on, you're acting just like him, only worse." she grated back at Rogue, raising an eyebrow to John.
Posted by Rogue on Apr 17, 2007, 4:18pm
Posted by Rogue on Apr 17, 2007, 4:36pm
Rogue opened her mouth and shut it again.
'I hate you Pyro - I hope you know that. Goodbye Ty'
She turned on her heel and ran as fast as she could across the grounds, towards the gates.

heya rogue she smiles ....the thick atmosphere suddenly surrounds her oh im sorry did i interupt? i was just wondering if everything was ok its just i heard quite alot of shouting
Posted by Rogue on Apr 17, 2007, 4:43pm
'Everything's fine,' she mumbled as she ran past Laurali.
Posted by The Man on Apr 17, 2007, 4:53pm
Posted by Rogue on May 2, 2007, 2:41am
'Thank you,' Rogue said, 'your head's quite cool too sir.'
Posted by The Man on May 4, 2007, 12:04am
::Xavier lifted an eyebrow; that was perhaps the first time anyone had ever said that to him.:: "Thank you."
"It's why I'm here," ::The Professor replied, with a soft, encouraging smile.::
